Chapter 5: Vassal Races 3

The fierce battle erupted quickly.

Su Ziyu seemed to have a great understanding of the demons' nature. There was no need to talk tactics with them; it was useless anyway. Just charge in a wave.

Whether they could win or not would be immediately clear.

Su Ziyu initially intended to reserve the frenzy demons to assault the weak spots of the enemy, but unexpectedly, as soon as the little demons rushed in, the frenzy demons followed suit, launching their own charge.

Some of them even entered a frenzy state directly, excitedly.

Command?

What command are you talking about? Command my foot!

Su Ziyu felt his head aching a bit, then gathered his hands to conjure a massive fireball and hurled it toward the area with the most enemies.

BOOM.

Over twenty Ant Race creatures were killed instantly, and a few friendly little demons who rushed too far ahead also got caught in the blast.

Friendly fire?

No problem!

After witnessing Su Ziyu defeat so many enemies with a single spell, apart from the deceased little demons, the morale of the rest of the little demons surged. They shrieked and lunged back into the fray, seemingly invigorated by the Demon Lord's prowess.

Su Ziyu began to understand how he should lead the demon army.

——"Flaming Storm!"

A frenzy demon charged deep into the enemy lines, immediately attracting a massive firepower onslaught.

Without a second thought, Su Ziyu tossed a Flaming Storm over the concentrated enemy area, engulfing the frenzy demon and surrounding Ant Race creatures in the roaring flames.

Roar!

An angry roar rang out.

The demon seemed to have a high resistance to flames, and that particular frenzy demon, morale elevated, charged out of the fire, bleeding profusely from numerous wounds, and turned to dive into another crowd of enemies.

In the end, that frenzy demon perished.

It was Su Ziyu's first frenzy demon casualty, killed due to reckless charging.

Among these Ant Race creatures, there were two types: the smaller Worker Ants, easier to handle, and the larger Soldier Ants, quite formidable in strength.

The frenzy demon was overwhelmed and killed by a group of Soldier Ants.

The little demons suffered significant losses.

In just this short period, over twenty perished, but luckily, their incubation cost was very low, so Su Ziyu wasn't too troubled by it.

The battle's momentum gradually shifted to his favor.

The overall strength of the demons was just too overwhelming; both the size and power of the frenzy demons suppressed the Soldier Ants.

"Please stop slaughtering my people."

"I am willing to surrender!"

Just as Su Ziyu gathered the frenzy demons, ready for a full assault on the Ant Race nest, suddenly, a female voice echoed in his mind.

An intelligent race?

Su Ziyu clearly realized these Ant Race creatures differed from the previously encountered Holy Beetles; those Holy Beetles were nearly wiped out and didn't even consider surrendering, whereas now, his enemies were just being routed, and he already heard surrender through Mind Sensing.

"Bring out your people." Su Ziyu gestured for the demons to stop the slaughter.

But it was no use.

The frenzy demons kept on charging.

"Damn it! Stop it!" Su Ziyu's figure rose into the air, kicking one frenzy demon flying five meters away, then smashed another frenzy demon with a fireball.

Bang.

The frenzy demon landed with a facial expression somewhat aggrieved, but obediently stood in place.

The other frenzy demons finally halted.

Headache.

Su Ziyu really didn't expect the demons' discipline to be this poor; the enemy was ready to surrender, yet they were still preparing to slaughter them all.

If they kill everyone, where would I find captives?

Soon.

An Ant Queen, accompanied by other female ants, appeared outside the cave, bowing their heads towards Su Ziyu to express their willingness to submit to the demons.

The world over knows the nature of demons; if they weren't to surrender, they feared they'd truly be annihilated.

——"Demonization."

Su Ziyu stepped forward to imprint them with the Demon's Blood. These Ant Race creatures turned out to be an intelligent race, possessing thought, seemingly belonging to mid-to-high tiers among the Insect Race.

"Abyssal Ant Queen (Infernal Creature): Demonized Ant Queen, possessing certain Spiritual Energy magic, can incubate Ant Race units. Mind Telepathy, Mind Sensing, Spiritual Ability, Ant Colony Incubation."

"Abyss Worker Ants (Infernal Creature): Demonized Worker Ants, with more robust and powerful limbs, receiving a boost from demonic power, skilled at gathering, building, and mining, mainly guided by collective unconsciousness."

"Abyss Soldier Ants (Infernal Creature): Demonized Soldier Ants, gaining the ability of Demon Skin, significantly enhancing strength, specialized in combat, mainly guided by collective unconsciousness."

This Ant Queen possessed high intelligence.

Upon Su Ziyu's order to relocate the entire ant colony near the Abyssal Blood Pool, she immediately began moving the various Ant Race members.

Abyssal Blood Pool.

When Su Ziyu returned with his army and seventy to eighty of the Ant Race members, he immediately saw six or seven kobolds outside the Abyssal Blood Pool, bound like dumplings in spider webs.

The enchanting demon adjutant, upon seeing him, approached with a gleeful expression, eager to claim credit: "Master!"

"Look! I helped you capture the kobolds."

Good.

Su Ziyu immediately converted them into half-demon kobolds.

——"Abyssal Kobolds (Infernal Creature): Demonized kobolds, gaining the ability of Demon Skin, enhancing their own strength, specializing in mining, tunneling, and possessing certain forging capabilities."

Demonized kobolds belong to a single troop type.

They inherently lack the genetic mutation ability of the Insect Race and demons; upon conversion, they merely receive an infernal creature template.

Su Ziyu understood now.

It seems conversion only results in troop expansions from Insect Race vassals, while creatures like kobolds simply get a slight enhancement to individual strength.

"Master!"

"Master!" These kobolds immediately kneeled, displaying expressions of eager affection like little dogs.

As expected of the most seasoned sycophants.

With a grand gesture, Su Ziyu dispatched them to mine, then set the Ant Race to work on planning and building his base, at least constructing a Blacksmith Shop first.

The frenzy demons still needed weapons.

Although demons naturally possessed razor-sharp claws and teeth, weapons were always more practical than their own claws.

The base finally started to get on track.

Su Ziyu sent the enchanting demon adjutant back out to capture more kobolds, his gaze sweeping over the little demons, and couldn't help but pause as he noticed: "Oh? There's someone who've advanced?"

Demons enhance themselves through killing.

All the little demons looked similar, but he spotted one that was slightly different. It had more scars and a darker shade of red skin.

——"Little Demon (Advancement Available)[Elite Unit]!"

With a sweep of the auxiliary system, Su Ziyu immediately discovered the little demon had become an elite unit, surprisingly gaining the ability 'Flame Mastery,' overall stronger than other little demons, and if it were to advance to frenzy demon, it would only consume about half the Power of Slaughter usually needed.

However.

Su Ziyu didn't immediately promote it because its advancement had two branches: one was frenzy demon, and the other was an expansion into 'Fire Burning Demon' through Flame Mastery.

He hadn't expanded the demon gene tree for Fire Burning Demon yet.

Frenzy demon could be advanced from any little demon, but Fire Burning Demon required a prerequisite.
