The next couple of days went by smoothly. Eira helped the newcomers settle in, and after they were interviewed, she found positions for them in the pack based on the information she got in the interview.
She was hard at work as ever, and she seemed to have given up her drinking habit and was starting to get a bit closer to her daughters to the point where she made them her assistants.
I had to postpone my turning Noah and his family for a week, but he didn't seem to mind. Now it was that day. I made sure that everyone in the pack was gathered at the town square to witness the honor that would be bestowed onto Noah's family.
And well, a part of me just wanted to show the miracle of Noah's wife healing after being bedridden for years. I wanted it to motivate the newcomers, which was why I had Eira prepare a front row seat for them.
"You look lovely, darling," Selthia said, looking at me with sparkling eyes as she adjusted my tie.
"Why do I have to wear this again?"
"Because I want you to look your best on this special day."
For some reason, Selthia insisted that I wear a suit. She even got a beautiful blue dress for herself. She also made sure that Sylvie, Isabella, and Kumo got dresses she liked. She said something about her not wanting them to ruin the ceremony by wearing their usual rags, but that didn't explain why she was so excited about getting them dresses.
"You look very handsome, darling. This whole ceremony reminds me of home. We would have these elegant balls where my sisters and I would compete with each other."
She looked a bit sad when she spoke about her home, but then that sadness transformed into anger as she suddenly gained a murderous look in her eyes.
"But then that bitch tore up my dress so I would be a laughing stock! And then they all pretended that it was my fault and they didn't have anything to do with it."
Seeing how worked up she was getting, I tried to calm her down with a kiss on the cheek, but Selthia wanted more than that. Before I knew it, our lips met, and it was only when she was satisfied that she pulled herself away.
She seemed to be in a better mood afterwards. As far as I could tell, she and her sisters had a love-hate relationship. They would always compete against each other, and that competition would lead them to do cruel things to one another.
"Thank you for your comfort, darling," she whispered. "Thanks to you, I'll never have to see those bitches ever again."
"The others aren't so bad though. None of them tried to hurt you as much as your sisters have," I tried to coax her to get along with Sylvie and the others.
"No… they are way worse," she responded coldly, dashing my hopes in an instant. Her eyes were as sharp as ever. "Trying to steal my darling is way worse than anything those other bitches have tried to do to me."
My words bounced off her like nothing. She was possessive. It was her nature; no point in trying to change her.
She talks coldly about the others, but she would never harm them. She even tries to help them in her own way at times. Like getting them dressed so they wouldn't look out of place beside me.
After Selthia helped me with my suit, we both left the room where the others were waiting for us.
"Took you both long enough," Isabella mumbled with a frown on her face.
She was wearing a beautiful black dress that stopped just above her knees.
"Hmm…"
Meanwhile, Sylvie was inspecting me with her hand on her chin. She seemed fascinated by the change in my appearance.
"Lee?"
"Don't you like it?" I asked.
She looked at the clothes I was wearing with deep interest, then she looked back up at me and nodded her head in satisfaction.
"Sylvie do like."
"My darling looks as handsome as ever," Kumo squealed.
"Thank you. You all look beautiful as well. Come on, let's go."
The five of us went to the town square where the ceremony would take place. My pack members looked on with deep interest. They all seemed excited. Noah was there with his family. All of them dressed elegantly.
Without further ado, the ceremony began. Eira began a speech talking about all the things Noah accomplished since he's been here and how much he deserved my gift.
After her speech, the crowd cheered. Soon it was time for me to turn Noah and his family. We started with his wife first. She was seated on a chair, looking a bit withered and lifeless. Looking at her, it was hard to tell if her mind was still functioning.
I gently swept the hair from her neck and sank my fangs into her jugular. Noah watched with bated breath as my venom took hold of her. For a second, nothing happened, but then her pale, sickly face began to return to its color.
"Mariane!" Noah called out with tears in his eyes when he saw his wife slowly healing.
"Noah!"
The two looked at each other longingly before Mariane jumped from her chair and ran towards her husband with superhuman speed. Noah was left in shock as he couldn't believe that this was his once frail and sickly wife.
While the two embraced, I turned my attention to the boy standing in front of me.
"Arlo, you're that desperate, huh?"
"Yes, alpha, I want to get stronger so I can protect my family and our pack."
Those were brave words for a boy only 10 years old. I could tell that he was emotional after seeing his mother well after so long, but he kept his composure and focused on the task at hand.
I smiled and patted him on the head.
"I look forward to seeing the powerful werewolf you'll become."
My words caused a small smile to appear on his face.
"Yes, alpha!"
Just like I did with his mother, I turned him, and soon it was his younger brother's turn. Allen looked a bit nervous, but in the end, I turned him without any fuss, then moved on to his sister.
Cecilia looked as nervous as ever. She was blushing slightly, and her breathing was a bit erratic.
"Don't worry so much."
I tried to calm her, then pulled her in and bit her neck. Her eyes flickered orange for just a second, then returned to normal. Suddenly, she brought her lips close to my ear and whispered something.
"My alpha~ Claim me~"
