Nexus Ascension: My Comprehension Defies the Heaven

Chapter 127: Three Guards Province (6)

Lia took a deep breath, and whichever corner she looked at, she saw corruption fields. Directly above the sky, far away from them, an earth shattering battle between two late-stage 2nd rankers was taking place.

The corruption fields here were far bigger than the ones that formed in Nova City, and there were simply too many corruption fields across the Three Guards Province to even count. This was an invasion on a completely different level.

'The High Order.' Lia's eyes were cold.

She vividly remembered the incident that took place two months ago. In that moment, she had been powerless and trapped. There was only one person who came to her rescue.

However, the current Lia wanted anything but that. She would fight them to the death for all she cared. She didn't want to be just a side piece.

She would cut down each and every one of them without hesitation.

Just as she thought that, she suddenly paused. Her gaze abruptly shifted toward the far south of Three Guards Province, precisely where Ashspire City was.

A pulse of power rippled through the distance and brushed against her soul, and her heart skipped a beat the moment she felt it.

She furrowed her brows and clutched her head subconsciously as soon as the energy hit her.

There it was. She felt the same energy she had felt a few hours ago.

Moments before the tournament's start, she had felt a distant power calling out to her from the south. She didn't know what it was, but the instant she felt it, her dreams started resurfacing in her head.

It was the same this time as well. The scenes began to replay within her head yet again.

The overwhelming presence, the same axe, the glitchy abstract beings kneeling, an endless world. It began to repeat continuously in her mind.

"Hey, what happened to you, Lia?" Evan, who was not so far from them, voiced his concern.

However, she didn't answer. Her sword fell to the ground from her grasp as she stood there with slightly trembling eyes and a stunned look on her face.

Swish!

Just then, a powerful fluctuation came from behind Lia. She didn't seem to notice it, neither did anyone at the 1st rank.

The next instant, a grey robed High Order member was right beside Lia.

His aura was sharp and violent. If a 2nd ranker saw him, they would definitely ascertain him as a 2nd ranker at the sixth level, only one step away from the late-stage of 2nd rank.

"You dare kill the members of the High Order?" he shouted. "You can die now!"

As he said that, a deadly dagger glinted in his grip as he thrust it toward her without hesitation.

"Hey! Watch out!" Evan shouted as he rushed forward.

However, the warning came half a second too late. Lia's expression twisted, and pain shot through her entire body as the dagger pierced her. She staggered, then collapsed to the ground.

"You... what did you do!" Evan roared at the High Order member who had stabbed her.

He shot toward him with his sword energy going wild.

Alissa, who was observing this scene, also had a change of expression. Her gaze turned unusually cold, and a chilling ice energy exploded outward from her body.

A frigid shockwave swept across the entire City Lord Mansion, freezing everything within reach.

The High Order member who stabbed Lia glanced at Alissa in surprise. He waved his hand slightly, which sent waves of energy toward Evan, who shot backward as soon as it hit, and then the High Order member closed in on Alissa.

"You are interesting, girl," he said while licking his lips. "Now, I will have my fun killing you! I don't like acting ordinary and evolvers after all!"

However, just before he could reach her, Head Branch Manager Desmond shot through the air and descended with a grim expression.

Having no way of helping City Lord Dorian due to the immense strength Orin possessed as a late-stage evolver, the city experts of the other cities could only fight these grey robed High Order members.

And as soon as he was about to descend, he saw someone from his own city getting stabbed.

"You filthy High Order member!" his voice boomed. "You dare stab someone under my watch?!"

An invincible force surged around him. Telekinesis condensed into several flying swords that screamed toward the attacker.

Clang! Clang! Clang!

The High Order member deflected all the blades with casual ease.

"He deflected it..." Desmond's face changed.

Evan, on the other hand, was watching this scene with tattered clothes while bleeding profusely from all parts of his body.

But then, a green light shone from inside him, and his injuries were rapidly healed.

Lin Fang, who was by the side observing, had a change of expression.

The guy healed himself.

And it was an injury inflicted by a 2nd ranker.

'You were right, system. Looks like he has some sort of secret with him.' Lin Fang sneered.

'But it's fine. I will eliminate him one way or another.'

Then he turned to Lia.

'Hey system, is there a way to heal Lia?'

He wanted to take Lia into his personal harem, so how could he let her die like this.

[You can heal her with a healing potion, Host.]

'Alright, buy one.' Lin Fang ordered.

Back to Evan, he was now pleading to the immortal lady.

"Master, please! Save Lia! We need to save her!"

However, the immortal lady did not respond. She stood frozen inside her personal space, staring at Lia with a puzzled expression.

However, that puzzled expression of hers turned into shock.

Boom!

Abruptly, a radiant golden light burst out of Lia's body.

The glow momentarily flashbanged everyone in the vicinity, and soon, the entire City Lord Mansion was covered in the golden radiance.

Above the skies, both City Lord Dorian and Orin noticed it.

For now, they didn't care about it. Both of them were at each other's throat.

"Die, you robot bastard!" Dorian shouted as he shot forward.

Orin smiled coldly. "Annoying bird."

The chest of his mecha split open, revealing a massive rotating barrel, its internal railgun.

A deafening vibration built up.

Dorian saw this clearly and immediately rushed out of Orin's range, but the railgun had already locked onto him.

"Fire!"

A beam of compressed force shot out faster than sound, directly going for Dorian.
