Blocking off the only path leading up to the seventh floor of the ancient stone watchtower where she now found herself, Scaly turned her attention around towards the different ancient artifacts that were scattered around the seventh floor in various states of disrepair. Not because she had any interest or clue about what to do with the artifacts, but instead because she was looking around for one that might provide a good sleeping place for her when she underwent her fifth evolution. After all, she would be sleeping for a long time and preferred to lay down somewhere more comfortable if possible and avoid laying directly on the ground like she had done in the past.
In the end, it was through this that she discovered that outside of the broken artifacts, there were also a few beds that remained intact scattered around the seventh floor of the watchtower. Likely having belonged to those tasked with watching the place for extended periods of time without any ability to leave or just because those who designed the place saw an opportunity to squeeze in a few more beds.
Seeing these beds that aligned perfectly with her idea of a comfortable place to lay down and sleep, Scaly didn't hesitate for a second before making her way over to one of the relatively large beds before climbing up on top of it.
And… Indeed, the bed she climbed on top of was far more comfortable than the rocky ground she had grown used to sleeping on. In fact, as she found herself on top of the comfortable bed, she began wondering if she could ever get used to sleeping on the ground again after having experienced what it felt like to sleep somewhere comfortable.
No! I can't fall asleep yet, I need to first confirm my evolution!
Shaking her head as she stopped herself from falling asleep the second she laid down on top of the incredibly comfortable bed, Scaly finally turned her attention towards her evolution for the first time since she had reached level 30
[Evolution available, choose evolution now?]: [Y/N]
Yes!
Looking at the familiar interface appearing in front of her, Scaly didn't hesitate as she loudly screamed the answer, she had wanted to give upon first reaching level 30 almost half a day ago. Watching with excitement as the interface in front of her disappeared before being replaced by a new interface.
✧ Evolutions Available ✧
[Young Tempest Dragon (Second Stage)]
[Requirement: Already a Young Tempest Dragon]
[Description: The young tempest dragon is a dragon species that has long since gone extinct outside of certain special dungeons where they might appear on the lowest floors of said dungeons. The young tempest dragon has terrifying abilities when it comes to using lighting, wind and water magic. Not much is known about them due to just how rare they are and the fact that they can't be found outside of certain dungeons where they might not even appear in the first place
The second stage is the final state of the evolution before becoming an adult tempest dragon and is far larger than the first stage of the evolution, some scholars dedicated to the study of dragons often mistake the second stage of the young tempest dragon for an adult dragon due to its strength being comparable to some adult dragons above level 30.]
Reading through the description of the first evolution available to her, Scaly could not help feeling a bit surprised.
Although she hadn't expected to become an adult dragon this time around, she had not expected the first evolution available to her to be another state of her current evolution.
Not just that, but one that directly told her that it would be comparable to an adult dragon upon reaching a high enough level!
Outside of the surprise from the fact that her young tempest dragon evolution could go further, she was more so surprised that it was powerful enough to reach a level comparable to an adult dragon before becoming an adult dragon.
After all, even if the adult dragon mentioned in the description wasn't a stronger dragon species like the tempest dragon, a dragon was still a dragon. Powerful beyond any other monster standing at the very apex.
But… Tempted as she was to directly pick this evolution immediately, she still decided to first look through the rest of the evolutions available to her. After all, if the first evolution was already this powerful, there was no way that the rest of the evolutions were any worse.
[Young Sky Dragon]
[Requirements: Undergoing evolution more than twenty meters above ground, Wing Magic lvl 5, Dragon Flight lvl 5, Dragon Bloodline lvl 4, Vitality 1000 or above, Magic 1000 or above]
[Description: The young sky dragon also known amongst scholars as the ruler of the skies, one of the last remaining dragons still seen throughout the world regularly, the young sky dragon spends almost all its time flying through the skies. Rarely ever landing on the ground unless it's forced to, as it can even sleep while remaining airborne.
For this reason, though the young sky dragon is still seen every now and then, it is far too high up for even experienced adventures to reach it. Only those with the ability to fly up to reach it have the chance to reach it. However, the young sky dragon is also known to be extremely shy of strangers and will almost certainly escape upon sensing someone approaching… And with its profound usage of wind magic and flight abilities, only the most skilled S Rank Wind Mages stand a chance of catching up to it.
Incredibly skilled when it comes to wind magic, but not anywhere near an adult dragon in terms of strength, though, it makes up for the lack of strength in sheer speed alone, as even an adult dragon will find it difficult to catch a young sky dragon, let alone an adult sky dragon.]
Reading through the second evolution option available, Scaly could not help narrowing her eyes slightly. Not because this evolution was weaker than the first, but because of the mention of this evolution's flight abilities.
Although she could fly with the help of her wind magic, it wasn't really flying so to speak, and she honestly did feel a bit tempted upon seeing the flight abilities being mentioned.
However, the mention of not being comparable to an adult dragon like the past evolution was, did stop her from immediately choosing this evolution outright. After all, at the end of the day, her focus wasn't to become a fast-flying dragon, but to become a powerful dragon.
Maybe the next evolution will be better…
Narrowing her eyes slightly as she thought this to herself while her gaze slowly drifted down towards the evolution below the young sky dragon evolution, Scaly hoped that the third evolution would become a mix of the two evolution above, getting her the best of both worlds in a single evolution.
[Winged Lizard]
[Requirement: Having gone through at least two lizard evolutions, Have Wings, Born as a Lizard.]
[Description: A lizard with wings. Nothing more, nothing less. The overall strength is unknown. This evolution has never existed before. Undergo this evolution and become the first of your kind. "Isn't this just a dragon?" Some might say, but it isn't. Instead, it carries a brand-new winged lizard bloodline.]
"…"
Looking at the description and name of the third evolution, Scaly had no idea what to say as she just stared at the words that had appeared in front of her with a speechless expression on her face.
Combining the best of both worlds? An evolution that would both be as strong as an adult dragon and have the flight superior flight abilities of a sky dragon?
No… Everything was seemingly thrown off and she was instead presented with something weird that didn't even give her the slightest clue about the strength of said evolution.
The only thing that interested her was the fact that this evolution was apparently brand-new and a one-of-a-kind evolution that had never appeared before.
But… Although she was curious about this evolution and wanted to learn more about it, there was no way she would willingly become a winged lizard just to satisfy her curiosity.
No, she would much rather go with the first or second evolution that she full well understood would make her stronger instead of one that might end up making her weaker. After all, a lizard was weaker than a dragon as far as she knew, the only thing that threw her off was the mention of a winged lizard bloodline.
After all, anything worthy of a bloodline had to be powerful and to become the ancestor of a brand-new bloodline-
No! I can't go back to becoming a lizard again! I have just managed to become a dragon!
Shaking her head as she banished the thoughts that started to fester in the back of her mind, Scaly turned her attention away from the third evolution on the interface and slowly focused on the fourth evolution below. Hoping that it would show something more promising than a second lizard based evolution…
