My unbelievable life with CATS (Con and Thief system)

Chapter 57: New special skill for the Phantom Cat

Meanwhile, at Fiona and Iris's school, Dylan was leaning against his car, checking his smartphone while waiting for his sisters. He was planning to buy four of the same bracelets as the one he "found" yesterday at the theater. Suddenly, "dling," a message came through on the family group chat. Ellie recounted the incident she had just experienced at home and how it was resolved. Dylan, reading it, was a little surprised.

"Thank goodness nothing happened," Dylan muttered to himself.

"Bwuuuung," a hologram screen popped up in front of Dylan's face. He immediately read it, and it turned out to be another quest.

"Huh... five minutes left?" Dylan asked, turning to look at the gate behind him.

[That is correct, sir.]

Without another word, Dylan immediately ran to the exit gate. He saw a red van heading toward the school. He instantly teleported and "blung," he landed on the roof of the van, then vanished. A man sitting in the front immediately leaned out and looked up at the roof.

"Nothing there," he yelled, climbing back down.

Dylan crawled on the roof of the moving van, hooking his feet onto the metal rack mount. He lowered his body upside down and "click," he picked the lock on the back door. Then he grabbed the handle and "blaak," the van's back door swung wide open, along with Dylan. The van instantly stopped. The driver and the man next to him got out to check the door at the back. Dylan quickly scrambled to the driver's seat and climbed inside.

He immediately started driving the van, making the two men chase it. They jumped into the back through the open door and closed it from the inside, but when they rushed to the front, they were shocked to see the car driving itself with no one behind the wheel.

"Huh... w... what's happening?" one man asked.

"G-ghosts," the other man replied, falling back and sitting on top of the piles of jewelry bags behind him.

"Th-this car is driving itself and turning back toward the store," the man who was previously the driver said.

"W-we have to run... quick," the man who fell replied, trying to get up.

While the two men were still shocked and confused, Dylan immediately hypnotized them, telling them to sit still and not do anything. Then he turned the van around toward the school again and parked it in front of the gate. He paused briefly and jumped to the back. He saw bags filled with jewelry, apparently taken from a jewelry store, and two firearms that the men seemed to have used to rob the store. He opened the bag and checked the contents, then he saw four identical bracelets.

"I'll just take them, I guess... oh, there's a price tag... CATS, can you please withdraw my money from the ATM? I want to buy these four bracelets," Dylan said.

[Certainly, sir.]

Suddenly, several wads of cash appeared in Dylan's hand. He took the four bracelets that were similar to the one he got yesterday at the theater and put the exact amount of money in a plastic bag inside the jewelry bag, along with a self-written receipt and his card that read, "I bought four bracelets, the money is in the plastic bag and the receipt is self-written. Thank you... signed Phantom Cat."

"Now let's take the car back," Dylan said, stepping forward and glancing at the two men sitting like idiots with blank stares.

[Very well, sir.]

Dylan got back into the driver's seat and drove in the direction the van had come from. Not far from the school was a shopping area that was now crowded because of the robbery that had just occurred. "Honk... honk," Dylan sounded the horn, making the residents and store owners who had come out to see what was happening and were clustered in the road open a path for the car to pass. Of course, they were all shocked to see a car driving itself with no one behind the wheel.

Finally, Dylan arrived in front of the jewelry store. The owner was seen talking to the police who seemed to already be there taking the owner's report.

The owner, seeing the van approaching and parking neatly behind the police car, immediately panicked and pointed at the van, shouting, "That's the car!" Immediately, the two police officers in front of the owner turned around and drew their pistols. They also didn't forget to turn on their body cams and approached the van, which had stopped right behind the police car. "Blak," one officer opened the driver's door and was instantly confused. Then another officer opened the back door.

He immediately jumped into the back and examined the two men who looked stunned with vacant stares ahead. The officer checked the two men, then he checked the bags of jewelry scattered around them. After that, he found several wads of cash, a self-written copy of a receipt, and a card with the Phantom Cat emblem. His eyes immediately widened. Then he took all the bags and brought them down to meet his partner, then showed the card, money, and receipt to the owner.

"Wait... the price of those four bracelets matches this money... how is that possible? There's a receipt too?" the owner asked, confused, to the equally confused officer.

Meanwhile, Dylan had walked away from the crowd, looking at the four bracelets in his hand with different colored gems.

"Okay, the blue one is for Maya... I'll just swap it later. The others can pick themselves," Dylan muttered.

[But why did you buy the bracelets if you could have just taken them, sir?]

"Amy would get mad at me again... she won't wear stolen goods. She asked me to donate the bracelet I gave Maya yesterday," Dylan answered.

[I see... alright, whatever you wish, sir. So, the bracelet will be donated?]

"Yup, in my basement," Dylan replied.

[You are just like your grandfather.]

"Shut up," Dylan replied.

NEW Special skill: dimensional item storage

===============================================

"Hmm... dimensional item storage... what kind of skill is this?" Dylan wondered in his head.

[It is a skill for storing items with unlimited capacity. To use it, you just say "open" in your head to see the list of items inside. You only need to think about what you want to put in and what you want to take out after viewing the list. Please try it, sir.]

"Alright... maybe I'll try putting these four bracelets in," Dylan said.

Dylan thought of a chest, then he opened it and put the four bracelets in. The four bracelets in his hand vanished. Then he said "open" in his head. "Bwuuung," a screen opened in front of his face.

===============================

Storage list:

Golden wing bracelet x4

===============================

"Wow... so that's how it works," Dylan said as he walked into the school gate and headed back to his car.

[That is correct, sir.]

Dylan kept looking at his screen and tried to retrieve one of the bracelets. Suddenly, a bracelet appeared in his hand, and then he tried storing only one and retrieving it again while leaning against his car. But suddenly,

"Brother... brother,"

Dylan looked down and saw his twin sisters standing in front of him with pouting faces staring up at him.

"Oh... haha... you guys are out," Dylan said.

"Yeah," Fiona said curtly.

"Yes, we are... we have been for a while," Iris said curtly.

"oh okay, sorry, let's go," Dylan replied.
