The Invincible Doctor of the Female Village Chief

Chapter 279: The Scene Inside the Statue

Watching Zhou Fengzi's utterly shocked expression, Liu Zixuan laughed and said, "In your youth, they probably weren't worth much, right? A few million would be considered sky-high!"

"A few million? You're really undervaluing the Ghost Gate Needle!"

Zhou Fengzi grinned and held up three fingers: "Back then, just one Ghost Gate Needle sold for an astronomical thirty million. You know, thirty million in those days is worth more than three billion now!"

"Hiss!" Liu Zixuan's lips twitched a few times: "That's terrifying?"

"Just think, one Needle back then worth thirty million, what if all thirteen were gathered, how much would that be? And now, how much would it be?" Zhou Fengzi said begrudgingly, "If I had known it was the Ghost Gate Needle, I wouldn't have given it to you! How great it would have been if I kept it, I feel like I lost billions!"

Liu Zixuan scoffed: "Don't fret, I just saw a lot of antiques in the side room, though not as valuable as the Ghost Gate Needle, they are pretty valuable too, I'll help you get them out later, alright?"

"Since you say so, I'll reluctantly accept!" Zhou Fengzi said, pretending as if his heart was bleeding.

To be honest, he wanted those Ghost Gate Needles more, there were two of them here, and perhaps all those antiques combined couldn't match the value of a single Needle.

But he also understood what the Ghost Gate Needle meant to a doctor, so he didn't bring it up again!

"Did the chamber you just entered have only one Ghost Gate Needle and nothing else?" Liu Zixuan asked.

Zhou Fengzi shook his head: "There were some, mostly weapons. I took a quick look, none of those weapons are worth much, mostly made of copper, with iron as secondary, and only one knife appeared to be made of special material!"

Liu Zixuan curled his lip; he wasn't interested in those weapons, having the Silver Needle and the Soul-Devouring Sword was plenty!

What intrigued him was a letter left by his beautiful master in the Lingxiu Village's Seven-Star Tomb, saying they might meet in another Seven-Star Tomb.

Lingxiu Village is so close to Ghost Wood City, had his beautiful master entered here?

And what puzzled him was that the so-called tomb within a tomb of the Seven-Star Tomb, which consisted of two tombs combined, was only worth the Ghost Gate Needle, with other items being minor trinkets. There was no particularly valuable burial item, nor had they seen the tomb owner; it was quite baffling!

Not only was he curious, but Zhou Fengzi was also puzzled and said, "This tomb is indeed complete, but there are four empty coffins and two side rooms without seeing the tomb owner; I think there might be a hidden door!"

"A hidden door?" Liu Zixuan exclaimed: "But everything is in plain sight, no hidden door exists!"

Zhou Fengzi rubbed his chin and stared at Liu Zixuan, then lifted his head to gaze at the towering giant statue!

This statue was several times larger than those in the two side rooms, holding a knife and shield, yet missing a head!

It stood in the middle of the main chamber, odd yet strikingly conspicuous, seeming out of place alongside everything else.

Zhou Fengzi squinted and muttered, "Look closely, all four coffins are aimed at this statue."

"Are you saying, the statue's interior is hollow and the tomb owner might be inside it?" Liu Zixuan asked.

"This is just my guess. You're agile; you could go up top and take a look. The statue without a head is already peculiar, and being so massive, there must be something fishy. Plus, examine the layout of the entire chamber closely!"

As Zhou Fengzi spoke, he walked to the front wall of the chamber, pointing at a round hole, where water still flowed out of the opening, "The water flowing out is irregular, yet all eventually gathers inside the statue."

"I imagine the water serves a purpose; something inside the statue requires it. Thus, either the tomb owner is inside the statue or there's a treasure comparable to the Ghost Gate Needle!"

Upon hearing this, Liu Zixuan's eyes gleamed; if there's treasure, he certainly wanted a look.

With a light tap of his toes, his figure leapt up, grabbing the statue's arm and climbing on top, standing on the massive shield to steady himself.

Liu Zixuan held his breath and looked towards the statue's neck.

Indeed, as they thought, the inside was hollow!

Yet the scene before him was astonishing to Liu Zixuan!

Inside the statue wasn't pitch black but extremely bright, resembling daylight!

Above a pool of clear water stood a miniature version of a palace, which appeared exceptionally exquisite, reminiscent of the Imperial Palace in Daluo Heaven.

Strangely enough, it felt like a small world; around the palace, shadowy figures moved about amidst a scene from ancient Daluo Heaven, mostly pedestrians and street vendors!

This sight left Liu Zixuan secretly amazed!

In modern times, people easily create such simulated 3D scenes with advanced technology, but how did they manage it in ancient times?

The palace and those shadowy figures appeared remarkably real, as if they genuinely lived there!

Liu Zixuan raised an eyebrow and instinctively reached out to touch the palace, wanting to explore further, but as his fingers slid across, the palace and the figures vanished, leaving him with only the icy cold water!

His touch caused ripples in the clear water, and what was originally a realistic scene became akin to a mirage!

However, when he removed his finger and the water's surface returned to calm, the previous scene reappeared, leaving Liu Zixuan astonished!

"So, what's inside?" Zhou Fengzi asked curiously from below.

Liu Zixuan's lips moved slightly; the scene before him was beyond explanation.

Then he laughed, "Why don't you come up and see for yourself?"

"I… I can't get up!" Zhou Fengzi was anxious but had no solution!

"I'll help you." Given Zhou Fengzi's extensive tomb exploration experience, he must have seen some peculiar things, so having him look might provide Liu Zixuan with some answers!

He leapt down lightly, ready to help Zhou Fengzi climb up, when suddenly the ground of the chamber shook, causing Zhou Fengzi to fall from the statue.

"Damn, an earthquake?" Zhou Fengzi stood up, muttering in surprise.

Liu Zixuan frowned: "Doesn't feel like an earthquake, it's like... something's ready to emerge!"

"Goodness, don't scare me!" Zhou Fengzi ducked behind Liu Zixuan.

Rumble!

The ground shook more violently, causing dust to fall rapidly from the ceiling.

Boom!

Just as a loud noise erupted before them, when they realized what it was, their hearts skipped a beat, and in unison, they exclaimed, "Oh my god!"
