SSS Class Mythic Beast Master

Chapter 167: Review (3)

Everyone trembled in shock.

The reaction was simultaneous and impossible to suppress.

Klaus's mouth fell open slightly, awe written across his face. His light-gold eyes went wide, reflecting wonder like a child hearing about the Inquisitors for the first time.

Rosaria's eyes shone in delight as she clasped her hands together tightly, her shoulders shaking.

Even Celestia's amber-crimson mixed eyes sparkled with interest. Her head tilted, white-gold hair shifting across her shoulders as she leaned in to hear more.

Reinhard blinked in surprise, his own shock mirroring theirs despite having been to the Imaginary Sea himself.

"But that should be it." Mimir's voice cut through their wonder. "I know you all want to learn about the history of the world, and I support that. So my suggestion is to focus on continents first, then the history of the world and Paradise, before you move onto stuff like the Imaginary Sea."

Reinhard's interest peaked as his head tilted toward the crow on his shoulder. "Is it because we wouldn't understand before learning about the world and its history?"

Mimir nodded, golden horns catching light with the movement. "Because old civilizations tried to learn about the universe and things beyond it first. But that led them to a dead end that pushed them into ruin..." The crow's voice softened, carrying something like concern. "I don't want that for you all."

Silence descended in the room for a minute.

"Thanks, Mimir." Reinhard's arms moved before thinking, wrapping around the crow and gently hugging him.

Mimir glared at him, but he didn't remove himself from Reinhard's embrace, remaining still despite the protest in his expression.

Laughter erupted.

Klaus's deep chuckle mixed with Celestia's lighter giggles and even Rosaria's rare, quiet amusement.

Klaus wiped his eye, smile widening. "So I'm guessing the end of things was you defeating Fenrir, and then you were the one who brought the people back to life?"

Reinhard's faint smile faltered, and a slight frown replaced it. "That was Odin." He released Mimir, letting the crow resettle on his shoulder. "He felt my desire to help Phane City and asked me if I wanted that. Then he did it."

Rosaria, Celestia, and Klaus's eyes widened simultaneously. Their expressions shifted through shock to disbelief to acceptance in rapid succession.

All three sighed in unison. "To think even the dead could be brought back to life..." Klaus's voice carried wonder mixed with concern. "The more we learn about your Beast Spirit, the more amazing it is."

Reinhard's brows furrowed. "Can SSS Class Beast Spirits really-"

"It isn't because it's SSS Class." Mimir interjected. "It's because it's something Odin can do."

The crow shifted its weight between its feet. "But that isn't the main point. What did Odin do to you at the end?" Golden horns tilted as Mimir studied Reinhard. "I feel like there's a change in your body. Something I can only notice because I am one of your Beast Sigils."

Reinhard's lips twitched. "Sharp as ever." He paused as he let out a sigh. "Tell me something… Have you guys ever heard of an Inquisitor with multiple Beast Spirits?"

Confusion appeared across every face.

Klaus furrowed his brows, Rosaria tilted her head, Celestia narrowed her eyes slightly, and Mimir's gaze sharpened.

Reinhard raised his arm to them with the back of his hand displaying his Beast Symbol clearly under the light.

The black-blue horned helmet with its long spear above and two crossed swords below, Odin Mark.

Then Reinhard began to imagine Fenrir with its golden eyes, black fur, and chains.

The symbol on the back of his hand began changing.

Celestia gasped, Klaus's chair scraped backward as he stood abruptly, and Rosaria's crimson eyes went wide, her usual composure breaking.

The horned helmet faded before, in its place a new symbol emerged. A wolf's head with its mouth wide open, teeth bared, with golden chains wrapped around it in patterns, and its two paws pointed upward.

Fenrir's mark.

"I think when I defeated Fenrir at the end, Odin may have made another connection which added Fenrir..." Reinhard said quietly. "But this isn't a Sigil. It's another Beast Spirit."

Silence descended as Klaus, Rosaria, and Celestia's minds struggled to process impossible information.

Klaus stared at the mark, his light-gold eyes looking over every detail of the symbol.

While Rosaria moved closer, she gently took Reinhard's wrist and lifted his hand closer to her face.

Celestia had pressed her hand over her mouth, amber-crimson eyes locked on the changing symbol with disbelief.

Finally, Klaus found his voice. "This has never happened before… You're only supposed to have one Beast Spirit. Having two has never happened in all of history."

Rosaria's fingers traced the air above the mark without touching Reinhard's skin. "This shouldn't be possible. Every Beast Spirit is tied to each person... Having another one is like placing two souls in a normal person's body. Both would clash and destroy each other."

Reinhard's eyes widened. "Then could it be possible I'm only fine because I've developed Odin's Beast Spirit more?"

Celestia shook her head, white-gold hair swaying with the motion. "It doesn't matter the class, connection, or rank you are. As long as another Beast Spirit is added to you, it should lead to mutual destruction." Her voice grew professional. "It isn't like when we devour the souls of other beings, where we can integrate them into our own soul. The connection between both spirits will clash over and over until the vessel they're tied to is destroyed."

Rosaria nodded slowly, her eyes never leaving the mark. "That's why Beast Class ranking meaningless until True Beast Master, it's the connection itself that determines everything. The problem is that all connections carry equal fundamental power, so when two clash..." She made a crushing motion with her hands. "The human simply breaks under the strain."

"To make it easier to understand. You can think of the clash as two Beast Spirits fighting for ownership over the Beast Master. They are doing tug and pull with the Beast Master to the point that the body itself will be destroyed, as the Beast Spirit only wants their connection for you." Celestia says, making Reinhard slowly nod.

Klaus peered at Reinhard. "But you're different. You're fine..." He paused, processing. "Which means Odin either did something to you, or there's something we're missing."

Reinhard's brows furrowed before he glanced at the crow on his shoulder. "Mimir? Do you know what Odin did?"

Mimir tilted his head and finally spoke. "I'm not sure, but it's possible... They're trying to make you into a Vessel."

Everyone blinked, finding the words ominous and strange.

"What do you mean by Vessel?" Klaus's question voiced what they all wondered.

Mimir sighed. "Again, I'm not sure since I need to observe Reinhard more. But for now, he doesn't need to worry. His connections are fine since you can still add Beast Sigils to Fenrir."

Rosaria hummed, her analytical mind working through implications. "Are you unwilling to speak because the wrong advice could ruin him?"

Mimir nodded. "Reinhard is in a special situation right now. Any inaccurate advice can ruin or screw him over. Even now, my calling him a Vessel may have placed unconscious thoughts and feelings in his mind."

Reinhard's lips twitched, but he nodded as it did create an image and strange feelings in him.

"It's better to observe for now and after gathering enough information, give an answer." The crow's golden eyes fixed on each person in turn. "My only advice for now is to wear Mythic Key gloves that can hide your Beast Spirit symbol, and then treat Fenrir as another of your Beast Sigils."

Klaus nodded immediately. "We can give him the Mythic Key. It would be us protecting our students."

Rosaria's fingers finally released Reinhard's wrist. "Is there any way we can find more information about his situation?"

"The history of Valhalla should be a good place to start." Mimir's voice carried certainty despite his earlier caution. "I once saw a being wielding multiple ones, but I'm not sure if they were really Beast Spirits or Beast Sigils."

Rosaria nodded, her mind already cataloging research paths. "I'll look it up."

Celestia's smile returned as she gave Reinhard a reassuring look. "You should tell your friends as well so they can help cover for you."

Reinhard nodded with a smile while Mimir faded away.
