That afternoon, just as Chen Zheng was preparing to leave for Yanzhou, he received an unexpected call from that very place.

"Chen Zheng?"

"Is that... you, Old Squad Leader?" Chen Zheng paused in surprise.

"I knew it! It really is you! Your phone number hasn't changed at all! I thought I'd never find you again!" Li Dali's excited voice came from the other end, filled with undisguised joy.

When Chen Zheng first joined the service, his adoptive father had placed him in a lower-ranked team for training. Back then, Li Dali was his squad leader. At that time, Li Dali had no idea about Chen Zheng's true identity, but their personalities clicked perfectly. To this day, Chen Zheng still remembered that it was his Old Squad Leader who had personally taught him military combat techniques.

"She's from Jiangnan!" Li Dali said.

Chen Zheng was somewhat surprised. He hadn't expected Li Dali's fiancée to be from Jiangnan as well.

"So, when's the big day?" Chen Zheng asked.

"We've already set the date for the day after tomorrow!" Li Dali said. "We were just busy contacting people, trying to arrange for her and her parents to travel here directly!"

"That soon?" Chen Zheng was taken aback. "But I heard the weather in your area has been strange. It's pretty abnormal right now! Under the circumstances, shouldn't you wait a little longer?"

"You're telling me! Our home is near Tai'an, and this weather is so weird I have to shower several times a day! I was really worried my fiancée's family wouldn't be able to handle it, but she's the one in a rush. She insists on coming now!" Li Dali said, his voice tinged with helplessness.

In fact, he had planned to postpone the wedding, but her family was adamantly against it. To make matters worse, all the invitations had already been sent out, so he didn't have any good options.

Li Dali was incredibly happy. After hanging up, he immediately sent the phone number.

Without hesitation, Chen Zheng dialed the number of his future sister-in-law.

"Who is this? What is it?" an annoyed voice answered the moment the call connected. The background was noisy, with the sound of vehicles passing. Chen Zheng figured she was already at a station.

"Is this Wang Rui?" Chen Zheng asked softly. "You must be in Jiangnan, right? I'm an old comrade of Li Dali's. He asked me to escort you all to Yanzhou. Where are you now? I'll come and pick you up."

"Dali sent you to pick us up?" Upon hearing this, Wang Rui's voice filled with pleasant surprise. "My parents and I are at the Jiangnan bus station! Please come get us!"

They had just discovered that, for some unknown reason, the bus line to Yanzhou had stopped selling tickets. Because of this, the family was stranded and at a loss for what to do. And just then, Chen Zheng suddenly appeared. It was simply wonderful!

Outside the Jiangnan bus station stood Wang Rui and an elderly couple. Wang Rui herself was quite beautiful. She wore a red fur coat that complemented her figure, making for a truly stunning sight. Just by standing there, she caused many men to turn their heads for an irresistible second look. Wang Rui's parents were also dressed fashionably, but for some reason, they gave off a rather tacky vibe...
