Evolving Infinitely: SSS-Ranked Talent Awakening.

Chapter 70: Emanate

I entered cautiously, with my sword ready for my intending slash at anything that moves funny. The chamber was vast, with towering pillars that reached up into the shadows.

In the center of the room, I saw a pedestal with an ancient artifact resting on it with a faint flow surrounding it. I slowly approached it as I was also wary of possible traps or hidden dangers that would pose a threat to my life.

As I reached the pedestal, I saw what the glowing object was- a key, made from what seemed to look like pitch black bone and etched with more of those ancient runes.

"Is this even worth protecting? Its probably what is inside whatever this key opens…" I muttered to myself as I reached out to grab the key, feeling a surge of energy pulse through me.

It wasn't just a key it was a dimension tool, one that would likely unlock even more secrets in the future.

With the key in hand now, my eyes flickered to the rest of the room. There was nothing else of note, but I had a feeling this was just the beginning of what the Divine Custodians had hidden. As I turned to leave, the system chimED WIthin my head,

Ding!

~You have earned a bonus of 20 stat points~

I smirked to myself as I added the large sum of stat points to their allocation without wasting anytime. This expedition of mine was already proving to be more rewarding than I had expected, and with my newfound strength, I felt ready for whatever lay ahead.

"Hopefully, this key leads somewhere," I said quietly as I exited the chamber, my mind already planning my next move.

I stood in the darkened chamber, contemplating my next move. The pedestal where I had found the key still hummed with energy as if the key never even left its surface. Though it seemed the key had been the rooms most significant treasure- or so I thought.

The key was made of a strange obsidian material which was extremely blacker than anything I had eve seen. It seemed to absorb the faint light in the room rather than reflect it.

It body was extremely smooth too, but the grooves on its surface held intricate carvings that hinted at an ancient long forgotten language.

As I stood there, my sharp gaze swept the room, noticing something odd- a faint line along the wall, as though it had been meant to blend in but had failed under closer inspection.

My heightened perception, honed over improving myself kicked in, alerting me to a hidden mechanism.

I instinctively placed a hand on my sword, preparing for any surprise attack or guardian that might threaten to attack.

"This place doesn't fail to surprise me, I must stay sharp…"I muttered to myself, feeling a surge of curiosity mingled with caution as I approached the wall slowly, tracing my fingers over the faint line.

After a moment of searching, I found a small groove that looked like it could be pushed with a little force. I pushed it, and with a low grinding sound , the wall shifted, moving backwards just enough to reveal a narrow opening, a passage leading deeper into the hidden underbelly of the castle.

I hesitated, I could feel the cold air rushing from the passage, carrying with it the scent of stone, dampness and something else- a faint metallic tang that felt like dried blood.

My grip on Shadow Edge tightened as I took my first step forward. Shadows stretched out in front of me, dancing along the walls as I descended, each step leading me further from the relative safely of the surface and deeper into the unknown.

The passage was narrow in all directions, forcing me to stoop slightly as I made my down. The air grew colder with each step, and I could feel untapped Anti-arcane energy pulsing through the walls, like the heartbeat of a creature just waking from a long slumber.

It was a though the chamber itself was alive, watching me, waiting to see what I would do next. I steadied my breathing, focusing my senses. Whatever lay ahead, I had to be ready for it.

At the bottom of the stairs, the passage opened up into a vast dimly lit room. It was unlike anything I had encountered before, a cavernous space where shadows seemed to breathe, their dark tendrils stretching and contracting with an almost lifelike rhythm.

In the center of the chamber stood a massive, ornate crystal embedded in the ground. It surface was deep, translucent blue and it pulsed with a soft glow, casting faint reflections across the walls.

The crystal looked awfully familiar, I squinted my eyes starring at it as I racked my brain trying to remember where I had seen this object from.

Then it hit me-

"This looks just like the Awakening Stone from my awakening ceremony!!!" I yelled out. But then the question as to what and how this stone got here lingered in my mind like a persistent fly.

The light it emitted was eerie, almost spectral, as though it held memories of ancient magic long forgotten by time.

My eyes narrowed as I noticed a keyhole embedded on the side of the crystal, it was a perfect match of the black key. And with that I felt a surge of anticipation tinged with caution.

Whatever this key was meant to unlock, it was more important and likely more dangerous that I had realized.

I glanced around the room, half-expecting some hidden guardian or trap to spring to life, but everything remained patiently quiet.

The crystal's glow seemed to pulse in time with my heartbeat and I felt an odd connection to it, as though it was calling to me. I approached the crystal cautiously, drawing the key from my pocket.

Immediately I exposed the key, the crystal began to hum, a low, vibrating sound that resonated deep within my chest. The key itself began emanating a warm sensation from it, contrasting with the cold air around me.

I inserted the key into the the crystal via the keyhole, feeling it click into place with an almost god-like perfect precision.

The moment the key was secured, it clicked on its own, and as it did, the entire chamber came to life.
