Reborn As The Barbarian God

Chapter 53: Showers of miracles

Just like what he did earlier, if one began to hit a wall in the same place with the same strength, then in time, things like this would accumulate and cause serious damage.

Theoretically, even a needle should be able to break down a mountain in thousands of years, maybe millions.

So Galthor used the lesser miracles in reinforcing ways. He created a large air bubble in the sea that instantly sucked out the water and pulled in the masters.

That stopped their drowning immediately, but it did nothing to save Galthor from the jaws of death. But he wasn't done. With the remaining lesser miracles, he created something else.

The air bubble hardened; it then grew bigger and formed into a box several meters wide. It was hard enough that they could feel as if they were standing on solid ground.

Then a force pulled the water serpent directly into the box, straight into the path of the angry masters. Galthor had spent all of the accumulated lesser miracles, but it was worth it.

The moment the monster was drawn into the hardened air box, the masters set on it as if it had done something really bad to them.

It had.

They all used their most powerful techniques, all directed at the monster's head. What followed were different flashes of red light and then horrible crushing sounds as the water serpent's skull was assaulted.

It let out a loud screech, its tail thrashing to slap the masters away, but Hrothgar and Karathra jumped into its path and held its tail down while the others focused on the head.

It didn't want to let Galthor go, but at the same time, it would get its head crushed in time.

It tried to use its powers, its eyes flashing blue, but it was having trouble drawing water into the box, and even as the box began to crack, it wouldn't break before its head did.

The water serpent finally let out a bellow and spat out Galthor, its enraged head turning on the masters, mouth opened to cause devastation.

But Galthor had had enough.

With solid ground beneath him, he didn't hold back anything as he attacked. He pressed his legs hard on the ground and then leaped, throwing himself forward like a rabid dog.

Time seemed to slow.

The force of his leap directly caused a shockwave that finally made the box shatter.

As the waters came crashing down again, Galthor collided with the monster's head. The force caused a dent in the monster's skull as all of his body weight went into the slam.

The water serpent let out a painful roar as its left eye was crushed, the remaining one flashing blue in desperation. At the same time, Galthor used the path provided by the mangled left eye as an entrance as he fought his way into the skull of the monster.

The monster shuddered and coiled, doing its best to throw him off, but it was all for nothing. And by the time the sea finally reclaimed its space, it was already dead, its deep blue blood painting the sea.

Galthor roared as he emerged from the head of the beast, covered in blood and brain matter, his eyes wild and a grin on his lips. "We did it!"

Of course, the others couldn't say anything as they were doing their best not to drown.

'...oh. right!..'

But before he could even think of doing anything, the sea shuddered and then whirled. The whole world turned on itself and then vanished into darkness.

By the time it appeared again, they were back at the flowing stream. But things weren't as they left them.

Some hound monsters were trying to eat the toad monster left behind, but one of them had its mouth through to the stomach melted away by the acid, and the others were still watching to see what to do when some people appeared out of thin air!

What's more, there was now a giant monster on the other side of the bank!

The hounds let out shocked barks and ran for their lives.

The masters were gasping and sputtering, their faces red from pressure as they dragged in mouthfuls of air greedily.

Galthor was the only one fine. At least he wasn't starved for air. But his right leg was still painful, with the large hole that had been punched through by the water serpent's fang.

He internally directed his Divine energy toward it to start the healing process.

The masters and their chief sat at the side of the stream and did nothing but catch their breath.

Ashclaw was the first to break the silence after a long time. "This... that was intense! I thought I was going to die!"

Everyone nodded. Even Galthor had thought that it was indeed the end for him if not for the miracles. It was a shame that he couldn't personally use the miracles for himself; then he would have become a wizard or something close.

"I did not expect that we would meet such a powerful cursed monster in this place! Not only is it strong, it also has a relic! Probably, but still, it's not recorded that it's here."

Galthor looked away from his healing wound. "That means there are other monsters, cursed or even worse, whose locations you might not know."

She hesitated and then nodded. "This has shattered my views of the Abyssal Land yet again. I thought if we avoided the dangerous locations, then we could avoid trouble, but it seems the most unsuspecting might even be the most troublesome."

Galthor snorted. "Isn't that what the Abyssal Land is all about? We should never have let our guards down in the first place, but it's not that bad. We won."

"Thanks to Unchanging Wrath," Drakira said.

Galthor nodded and echoed.

"Our god has really shown and saved us so many times already. There has to be something we can do for him!" Brakthar said, and all of them turned to Galthor.

The supposed spokesman of the god smiled. "Spread his name. Free his people and grow strong. That's the first."
