The Rise Of The No. 1 Hunter

Chapter 62: THOUSAND AGAINST ONE

The Death Knight turned toward his voice, its massive blade stretching to the side as it began charging at him.

"Flight activated," Raito commanded.

[Flight Activated]

The system's voice echoed in his mind. In an instant, Raito lifted off the ground, his body propelled upward by a surge of mana.

The Death Knight's blade sliced through the air, missing him by inches as Raito soared past, the gust from his movement rippling through the hall.

Hovering high above, Raito looked down at the armored figure below. His eyes glowed faintly, determination burning within them.

"Ah yes," he said in a low voice, lips curling into a grin. "It's time for the main showdown."

Mid-air, Raito twisted, bending his body as he closed the distance with blinding speed. The Death Knight lunged, dagger aimed straight at his neck, but it tilted its head aside, narrowly dodging. Its massive sword, the Cursed Blade, sliced through the air, aiming to cleave him mid-flight.

Raito brought his dagger up, parrying the strike. The force shook his arms, but he stayed steady.

The Death Knight knew where he was. Even without sight, it tracked him instinctively, anticipating his trajectory. Again, it swung the Cursed Blade, thrusting mid-air toward him. Raito dodged, narrowly avoiding the tip.

Then, it opened its hand. The sword flew back on its own, aiming for his dagger hand.

"This isn't going to be easy," Raito thought. "Even Shadow Phase isn't enough. It can still sense me… my attacks, my presence."

Before he could react, it closed the distance in less than a second. Mid-air, it leapt, sword poised to strike his head. Raito blocked with both daggers, staggering under the force of its speed. It didn't give him a moment to breathe.

He pushed, forcing it downward, trying to create distance, but it vanished. In an instant, it teleported mid-air behind him. Its Cursed Blade aimed straight at his neck. Raito ducked, slashed, and blocked again. Sparks of holy and dark energy erupted with each clash.

It landed, vanished, and reappeared behind him once more.

Every strike, every dodge, every teleport, it was like a deadly dance. The Death Knight wasn't just fast. It was precise. Calculated. And it could predict Raito's movements better than any normal undead should.

Raito's feet touched the ground, barely settling before the Death Knight teleported right in front of him. Its massive sword swung in a deadly arc. Raito slammed his daggers against it, Holy Burst igniting around the blades. The sheer force sent him flying backward, slicing through the air with a roar of wind. He slammed into the dungeon wall, shards of stone scattering.

Insane strength, speed, and teleportation? Raito thought, heart racing. This is one of a kind… but I'm ready.

He pushed off the wall, sprinting toward the Death Knight. Each step left a trail of glowing energy from Holy Burst, daggers raised and trembling with power. The Death Knight's sword slashed again, slicing the floor beneath Raito's feet. He leapt, landing on the Death Knight's blade, a precise balancing act on the edge of death itself.

Raito's kick slammed into the Death Knight's bony head, but it barely staggered. The undead warrior twisted, catching him mid-air with a terrifying pull, tossing him toward the wall. Raito activated Flight, slicing through the air with twin daggers blazing. The Death Knight bent its cursed sword, forming a glowing barrier as Raito's daggers collided with it. Sparks exploded, lighting the hall with green and gold streaks.

Even with his speed, the Death Knight didn't budge. Its armor absorbed the impact like nothing. Raito's eyes narrowed. It's not just strong… it's a wall.

He rebounded, bouncing off the ground, daggers slicing through the air, Holy Burst igniting every strike. Each movement faster than the eye could follow, his body a blur of green-gold light. The Death Knight teleported, slashing from an impossible angle, but Raito anticipated it, landing precise strikes along the armored frame, leaving scorched trails of holy energy.

Raito clenched his daggers, his breathing sharp.

"When it comes to strength and speed… even if it's faster than me, even if I know I'm not going to win," he smirked faintly, "I can still try."

The Death Knight stood motionless in front of him, its hollow eyes glowing with sickly blue flame. The air was heavy with killing intent, and the sound of its armor creaked with each movement.

"System," Raito muttered, raising one hand. "Activate Necromancer Heir."

[Skill Activated: Necromancer Heir]

[Undead Control Permission Granted]

Instantly, Raito's vision turned green. Ancient knowledge, runes, commands, and the cries of the dead flooded into his mind like a storm. His veins glowed faintly beneath his skin.

"Fallen undead, fallen knights of this castle, arise!"

A deep rumble shook the chamber. From the cracks in the stone floor, bones and armor burst upward. Rusted swords clattered as skeletal knights began dragging themselves from the ground. One, ten, a hundred, hundreds more.

Raito's LP started dropping slowly, but he didn't care. The sight alone filled him with raw excitement.

"Yes… this is perfect."

The Death Knight tilted its head, watching silently as five hundred undead surrounded it. Then, without warning, it moved.

With a single teleport, it appeared inside the mob and swung its cursed sword.

A shockwave ripped through the undead ranks, bones scattering, armor shattering, the floor cracking beneath its power.

Raito gritted his teeth.

"Not bad," he muttered, lifting a hand. "But I can bring them back."

Green light spread through his palm, and the fallen undead reformed, their bones knitting together again. His LP dropped faster, but his grin widened.

"This won't be enough to defeat him… How many fallen knights are left in this castle, System?"

[Total Remaining: 1,000 Undead Knights]

Raito's eyes gleamed. "Then call them all."

The sound of marching echoed through the massive corridors as the undead army filled the hall, over a thousand glowing green eyes flickering in the dark. The Death Knight raised its sword again and charged forward, teleporting between ranks, slicing through dozens with every strike.

Raito's undead reformed just as fast as they fell, creating an endless cycle of death and resurrection.
