Jaden turned silent at her senseless words and violently shook his hands.
'Why did Yorina even tell her about that?" He questioned inwardly.
Yuka, who was trapped in the walls of his hands, rolled around like a die and screamed, "Ahhhh! What are you doing?! STOP!!"
However, He didn't stop; instead, he shook her more violently.
A few seconds later, he stopped and stared at her with a deadpan look. "I didn't mean it in that way."
Stars seemed to swirl around Yuka's tiny head as her head spun in nausea.
A few moments later, her head stopped spinning, and she gave him an involuntary nod before asking, "Then what did you mean?"
"I don't know how to explain it, but I can get stronger by doing specific actions... such as killing nightmares or star beasts," He explained while hiding everything that he didn't feel safe to tell anyone, let alone her.
She blinked a few times and asked, "How is that even possible?"
"I don't know... it just happens."
"I can't just believe whatever you say, you know?" Yuka added with a frown.
Jaden heaved a sigh and asked, "How can I make you believe?"
She pushed her tiny body up and said, "First, let me go."
He narrowed his eyes and said, "You'll teleport away."
"Huh? What makes you believe that I cannot teleport right now?" She asked with a tilted head. She seemed really interested in knowing what made him think that his hands were powerful enough to keep her — the Fairy of Space — trapped.
She was so deeply interested in knowing his reason that she had completely given up on freeing herself from his grasp, and Jaden was very grateful for that.
He didn't know if she could teleport out of his hands or not, but he did have a solid assumption.
'She won't teleport because it may hurt me,' and that was apparently his solid reason for being this bold to her.
Even so, he couldn't let her know that he had no reason, so instead he asked, "Why aren't you teleporting away then?"
She frowned at his question and said, "You should answer my question first."
He scoffed, "Why would I? Are you doing what I want?"
"I cannot do it, Jaden. It's dangerous not only for you but also for the teachers who are to contain the gate," she replied strictly.
Jaden knew how presumptuous his demand was, but desperation left him no other choice — he needed a strong backing as soon as possible.
He couldn't meet the War Marquise because of her inability to do so and he didn't have connections with the dukes or the kings.
Suddenly, a thought came to his mind, and he asked.
"Can you teleport me into the room with spell books and martial manuals then?"
Yuka's eyes widened at his audacious request, and she snapped, "How can you even dare to ask such?"
His hands snapped open, and she rose while looking at him with cold eyes.
Suddenly, veins bulged all over his body as a heavy pressure descended on him from all directions. His eyes turned bloodshot, he gritted his teeth and barely managed to mutter, "A-ask Maria..."
Unable to hear him, she lowered her pressure and asked, "What did you say?"
The pain eased, and the veins disappeared. He looked at her with his blurry eyes and spoke, "Ask Maria."
"An Instructor doesn't have the power to allow a student's entry to the arcane library," she stated in a flat tone.
A wide grin appeared on Jaden's face as he said, "She'll take care of it."
Yuka furrowed her brows and opened her lips to ask further, but suddenly she stopped and disappeared from his room.
He leaned back in his chair, let out a pained chuckle and muttered, "That really hurt... I hope Maria can get me in."
***
Green sparkles flickered beside Yorina, and Yuka appeared near her.
Yuka had a warm smile on her face as she began to circle her, "Yori!" She shouted cheerfully.
"Where were you?" Yorina questioned with a frown.
Yuka's smile dimmed, and she replied, "I was held up in something."
Yorina raised an eyebrow but didn't pursue it any further. Instead, she asked, "Why did you teleport all of them here? I don't remember asking you to do that."
Yuka sat on her shoulder and pointed at the dreamgate as she spoke, "Don't you think that gate is weird? No, let me rephrase, Don't you find the appearance of this and other prophecied dreamgates strange?"
Everyone furrowed their brows and stared at the gate to understand what she was talking about, but they found nothing strange with the dreamgate.
The old man turned his head towards her and asked, "What are you talking about, Fairy?"
Yuka stood up, flew before the dreamgate and spoke, "How come there was no prophecy about this dreamgate? And strangely, the Dream Holyland is only able to prophesy the dreamgates that will appear after the appearance of this one."
All of their eyes gleamed into sudden understanding, and Maria muttered darkly, "She is right... the Dream Holyland continuously looks for any dreamgate that can appear within the capital, how could they miss a gate at the very centre of it?"
Others had the same question, but they had no answer to this strange behaviour. It had never happened before, after all.
"No... this has happened before," Kathrine mumbled gravely.
Everyone turned their heads towards her, and Yorina asked, "This has happened before?"
Kathrine looked at her and nodded as she revealed. "Yes... It had happened last year, and eight students had fallen into that gate."
Maria's expression hardened at the revelation, and she thought, 'How could I forget that?'
She knew that gate very well. It was the one that had swallowed her brother and Jaden, after all.
Seeing the grave look on Maria's face, Yorina placed a hand on her shoulder and asked, "Are you alright?"
Maria turned her head towards Yorina and answered, "Yes... I am fine."
Watching them together, Yuka remembered Jaden's words, 'Ask Maria.'
She flew over to Yorina, "Yori... There's something important that I have to talk about with both of you," she said while pointing at Maria at the end.
Yorina and Maria looked at each other before nodding and replying at the same time, "All right."
Yuka flew away from the others, and the two followed behind her.
The others looked at them with puzzled expressions, but none of them said anything.
As they reached the spot, Maria glanced at the others before asking, "What is it?"
Yuka shifted her eyes to Maria and spoke, "Jaden asked me to tell you that he wants to enter the arcane library."
As soon as those words left her lips, Maria's eyes widened while Yorina frowned and asked, "Who is he to dare ask of such?"
Yuka turned towards her, thinking whether she should tell her or not, and after pondering over it for a good long second, she stated, "He is an abornamilty. A human capable of wielding all eight elementals."
Maria's expression hardened as she thought, 'Why did she tell her?'
Yorina furrowed her brows and asked further, "Is that even possible?"
"I have seen him use the spells of all elementals," Yuka answered as soon as she asked.
Yorina, being a saint-ranked, kept her composure and continued the questions, "Does he believe that he can get whatever he wants just because he has affinity to all of the elementals?"
Yuka didn't answer and shifted her gaze towards Maria.
Maria felt her gaze. She looked at Yuka and inquired, "Have you not denied him already? What's the point of telling us about it?"
Yorina nodded at her reasonable question while also noting Maria's reaction.
'She already knew about that student having the affinity to all of the elementals,' Yorina thought with narrowed eyes.
"He told me to ask you," Yuka replied.
Hearing those words, Maria thought in irritation, 'Jaden, what are you trying to do?'
She stopped thinking about what could be the reason behind his asking for entry into the arcane library and turned towards Yorina.
Yorina raised an eyebrow and muttered, "What? Don't tell me you are thinking of allowing him into the library? We cannot just allow an untrusted person to set foot in the library."
Maria looked her into the eye and asked, "You trust me, don't you?"
Yorina frowned and responded, "I do trust you, but I cannot allow his entry just because of that."
"Then I put the trust you have in me on the line for allowing his entry," Maria stated without batting an eye.
Yorina's frown deepened as she asked, "Why are you going so far for him?"
A smile appeared on Maria's face as she mumbled, "Going far? No, I am not. I am just repaying him for helping my brother set foot into the waking world."
Yorina looked into Maria's eyes for a few moments before she turned towards Yuka and said, "Let him in."
