Deal with The Devil!

Chapter 83: Troublesome Women

Woosh!

Lloyd Pelagaios gathered the current of the water at the tip of the spear and unleashed it like a bullet, aimed at the bastard who dared to 'intrude' on his training session.

As the mass of water got closer to its target, his eyes finally landed on Jinn.

On the surface it might look like he was just attacking someone who had interrupted him, but on the inside he was watching every move Jinn was making ever since he had entered his perception.

And even now he was watching him.

Analyzing him.

The water attack reached Jinn, but the boy had never moved. His eyes widened as if he had barely seen the attack coming at him.

Seeing this, Lloyd panicked internally, 'did I make a mistake?'

But just as he flinched, he saw Jinn tilting his head, barely dodging the attack. His cheeks were grazed, drawing blood from him.

"Woah woah, that was quite dangerous. You should look where you are pointing your weapons."

Jinn followed the ball of water as it struck the boulder in the distance, causing it to explode and sending debris flying around.

His casual demeanor in the face of such an attack stumped the blue-haired boy.

"Who told you to interfere in my training? Don't you know how dangerous that is?" with the flick of his hand, he sent the spear flying into the rack perfectly.

"Come on." Jinn chuckled at his words before taking a step forward. Standing face-to-face with the young man, he said, "We both know that was a deliberate attack."

"You knew I was here all along, as I made no efforts to hide it, and you attacked me. Although I am not sure what I did to warrant such hostility."

That was a lie.

Jinn knew exactly why the man had attacked him.

When he feigned shock with his wide eyes, he caught the momentary twitch in Lloyd's hand, which told him everything he needed to know.

The boy was trying to assess his ability, which means he did something to catch his eye.

And the other.

He had a way to stop the attack before Jinn was injured by it. But since Jinn moved out of the attack's way on time, he stopped from using it.

'Which begs me the question, what did I do to make him do such a thing?'

As far as Jinn knew, he did not do anything like that. Consciously, that it, who knows if he suddenly started moving around in his sleep and did something he had no recollection of?

"I have no idea what you are talking about." Lloyd insisted on feigning innocence, but the faint twitch on the corner of his lips gave him away.

He tried his best to maintain the eye contact without backing down but only lasted for a minute before he turned around and walked towards the spot where he kept a water bottle and a towel.

"I don't have time for this."

He started wiping the sweat with the towel even though Jinn was still looking at him.

"It might have been an accident this time, but if you dare to do something like this again, you will not be able to dodge the next one."

"I cannot go around checking if you are training everywhere I want to go."

Without taking his threat to heart, Jinn smiled and stepped forward to shorten the distance between them once more.

"So, I have to apologize, as I won't be taking your advice into consideration."

Once again standing before the man, he continued.

"And I really hope that was advice, for your sake."

Flashing a harmless smile, he walked past Lloyd, who was too stunned to speak.

Even though Jinn showed a harmless smile, the cold look in his eyes made him freeze.

A face of a man who looked like an older version of him flashed in his eyes. But the difference was the coldness in his eyes that matched the one he just saw.

Lloyd clenched his hand, tightening his grip on the bottle and the towel.

Then a second later he took a deep breath and controlled himself.

"A word of advice, Jinn Alcott. Stay away from that woman."

Jinn, who was walking to leave the area, paused and turned around, but Lloyd was no longer there.

"So this was all for a woman?" he whispered to himself before his figure dissipated into nothingness, and near the academy wall, Jinn appeared out of nowhere without a scratch on his face.

With a last glance in the direction the blue-haired boy went, he turned around and resumed his exploration.

"Be they devil or human woman, they are troublesome."

"Isn't that the gospel?" Hearing the imp's voice, Jinn nodded in agreement.

Just like that, he spent the next two hours walking around the campus, which also served as a morning walk for him.

But after his long and atrocious journey, Jinn did not feel a bit tired.

By the time he stopped, it was 7 AM, and finally he started seeing more living souls walking around everywhere.

Jinn returned to the reception, where Miss Ruth seemed to be having trouble maintaining her smile.

"How can I help you, Mr. Alcott?"

Jinn was not sure if he was imagining it or not, but there was a sharp edge in her voice.

"Where can I find the cafeteria? I have not seen one on the campus."

No matter how wild his imagination was going, Jinn did not believe that the academy would starve them for two years since they were not allowed to go outside and there was no way for them to cook something on their own.

"You have been down here since four in the morning, haven't you?"

Her question did not seem like one since she sighed like she already knew the response.

"Go back to the third floor and you will see. It should be open already." She answered before returning to her work. "Make sure to walk around the hallway."

Intrigued, Jinn followed her words and went upstairs using the plain old stairs.

As soon as he arrived in the circular corridor, he found nothing out of the ordinary, so he continued along the path.

He saw many students, already dressed, walking around in the hallway. He even encountered Evelyn, who was coming out of her room.

She nodded at him before walking in the same direction without saying anything.

Soon, Jinn saw a glowing gap in the middle of the wall, which he recalled to be smooth as a baby's butt.

Instead of stopping to question how it was possible, Jinn increased his pace and picked up a plate from the counter before getting in line.
