"Here is the letter!" Evans said as he placed a sheet of paper on the table.
Crowne took the paper and stored it away. It was a notification letter to the guild master in Stromhall City stating that Crowne had successfully defeated the monster that had been attacking the fishermen near Doomsty City.
That was exactly what he needed because his purpose for coming to this city was for that task. Of course, after completing it, Crowne would return to Stromhall City to deliver the letter he had received.
Crowne stood up after taking the letter. He wanted to leave immediately and prepare himself for his journey three days later.
"I did not expect you to actually defeat that creature. I think you deserve to rise to rank S. Do you want to test your capability again with our device? I think the device in Stromhall City is malfunctioning," Evans said.
"There is no need. I will simply bring the letter you gave me. I believe that is enough," Crowne answered.
He simply did not want the result to be pointless. For some reason, he was certain that even if he checked again, he would get a low rank. Just like in Stromhall City. Instead of doing something useless, it was better to return to Stromhall and rise in rank through recommendation.
That was the most reasonable option according to Crowne. He began walking toward the exit door, but Evans spoke to him again.
"Are you really not going to stay here?" Evans asked.
Crowne turned his head. "I will go to Moonlight City. I cannot stay in this city and besides, the people of Doomsty living near the shore still dislike me. They still believe that I am the one who killed those fishermen."
"You do not want to explain everything? You could do it because in truth, you are their hero."
Crowne shook his head. "There is no need. I also do not care how they view me. I simply do whatever I want to do."
Evans nodded. He was impressed by Crowne. He was not arrogant. He did not seek praise. He also did not demand a large reward for what he had accomplished. Even though if Crowne wanted to, he could have asked for it.
Evans smiled at Crowne. "I hope we meet again."
Crowne nodded. "Of course."
He opened the door and stepped out of the room. However, the moment he left, he saw two people already waiting for him at the stairs leading down. Both of them smiled at him and walked closer.
They were Daisy and Lina.
"What will you do after this?" Daisy asked.
She immediately hugged Crowne's right arm. Lina did the same, but with his left arm. Both of them stared up at Crowne with beautiful smiles, but Crowne frowned at the two girls.
"What do you want? You two are not planning something evil toward me, right?" Crowne asked.
They quickly shook their heads. "No, no," both of them replied.
Crowne narrowed his eyes. "Are you sure?"
Lina quickly rushed forward and stood in front of Crowne. She made a cute, playful pose to tease him. His first impression of Lina had been different from what he was seeing now. Before, she appeared firm, angry, and stiff. Now she was cheerful and adorable.
"We will not do that. Especially not to the person who saved my life. It is impossible for me to harm my savior. Even if you want, I can become..." her face turned red. Lina lowered her head while rubbing the tip of her toe against the floor. "I am willing to become..."
"Hahahaaa. Do not listen to her." Daisy quickly pulled Crowne's hand, urging him to follow her. "I will buy clothes for our journey. I will show you the best shops in this city."
Crowne was pulled by Daisy. He did not understand, so he simply followed. Lina, standing behind them, narrowed her eyes at her older sister. She looked annoyed, but soon smiled and ran after them.
"I am coming too!" Lina said while walking quickly.
Lina then wrapped herself around Crowne's left arm again. The three of them walked down to the first floor together. They headed toward the exit with Daisy and Lina continuously talking to get Crowne's attention, but Crowne scratched his head. He was confused about why these two girls were sticking so close to him. It even felt like they were clinging to him.
"I think this is a bit... too close," Crowne said.
Lina and Daisy immediately responded, "No. This is normal."
Crowne did not protest anymore, but the stares from the adventurers in the lobby were sharp at him. Some narrowed their eyes, some cursed in their hearts, and some even clenched their fists. All of them were jealous of Crowne, but none of them dared to complain.
Kyrielle stood behind the receptionist desk. She watched the scene with a smile. She never expected Crowne to become this popular. When he first arrived, he did not look convincing at all. He looked weak.
"Do you want to be like them?" Evans said.
Kyrielle turned. "What do you mean?"
"We could go on a date. We can shop, eat, or simply walk together," Evans said confidently. "When will we do it?"
Kyrielle frowned. "Did I ever say I accepted your invitation?" she replied.
After that, Kyrielle opened her documents and continued working. Evans was ignored. He let out a long sigh. Once again, his request for a date had been rejected. It was not the first time, so he was used to it.
Evans stretched his shoulders a little. "You know? Men have limits. They cannot keep hoping for one woman forever. They can look elsewhere if they are ignored too often," Evans said sarcastically.
Kyrielle glanced at him. "Is that supposed to be my problem?"
"Hek!"
Evans turned. The adventurers quickly looked away when he looked at them. Evans clicked his tongue. He turned around and walked out of the room.
"I will still wait for you to accept me," he said firmly.
Kyrielle looked at him.
She smiled faintly.

At a very distant place, Velrisa stood while holding her long scythe. Her expression was serious. Magic energy overflowed from her body. She was ready to fight at any moment.
Before her, someone wearing a robe stood still. That figure had stopped after being chased by Velrisa for a long time. The person turned around, but the face was not visible.
"Who are you?" Velrisa asked.
The figure only smiled beneath the hood. "You do not need to know." The voice echoed as if two voices were speaking at once. "Instead of chasing me, you should protect your master or your master will be killed."
Velrisa raised her scythe. "After killing you, I will return to my master."
Without speaking any longer, Velrisa charged forward and launched an attack. But her opponent remained still. The figure did not show many movements.
"Come. Let us see if you are stronger or if I am stronger," the figure said.
The figure moved forward as well. The battle began.
