Chapter 1032: Skewed Moon Chamber of Commerce
A burly man appeared in front of Chen Tianxiao on the walls of Intentionless City. A wild and ancient aura was coming off of him, and he overcame Chen Tianxiao’s power with just one hand. A ring of black halo spread out from him in the center, sending Chen Tianxiao flying in an instant.
Chen Tianxiao moved back hundreds of miles in one go. Everywhere he passed, the space around him trembled. He appeared in the forest outside Intentionless City in a second.
Fresh blood trickled from the corner of his mouth and his robes were torn to shreds. A bout of immensely strong power pierced his body, destroying his organs. With his cultivation, he could not have blocked that.
That black light was just too terrifying. He had been badly injured even before he could get a good look at the person’s appearance.
“Little thief, you must be tired of living if you’re stirring trouble in the Intentionless City.”
A coarse voice rang out from above Intentionless City, painting the elder of the Shattering Cloud sect as a little thief. The man was covered from head to toe in battle armor and he looked exceptionally imposing.
“Who might you be?”
Chen Tianxiao was utterly shocked, turning immediately to look at the huge man covered in black battle armor. He had been injured so heavily in just one blow. The man in black armor possessed at least a great attainment of the Tide Changing Realm, if not more.
How was it possible for a measly Green Ancient Mystery Dimension to house such a figure?
Chen Tianxiao was not the only one horrified beyond comparison. Several powers hiding out in the forest were also staring at the scene with their mouths open. They had never imagined that such a strong figure would reside in Intentionless City. In a second, the entire area fell silent. No one dared to make a sound.
In reality, a lot of forces had already made their way to the Green Ancient Mystery Dimension, but none of them had wanted to make the first move. Only the Shattered Cloud Sect had been eager to be the first one to do that.
Other than the Shattered Cloud Sect, there were also several other sects whose elders had come. However, those people had not been as careless. They chose to plot before moving, waiting for the situation to unfold before they make their moves.
One could say that the other sects would move out one by one if the Shattered Cloud Sect succeeded. This is because there was no way they would watch Mo Wen land in the hands of the Shattered Cloud Sect without doing something about it. After all, they had the same goal, and that was the Sacred Fire Sword he had on him.
However, those sects had been exceedingly careful and reluctant to be the first one to step forward, lest they end up suffering, while other sects are able to benefit from that. Not a single one of them thought that the Green Ancient Mystery Dimension was this threatening, so they only saw the other sects as threats. It just happened that none of them had anticipated that the Intentionless Sect would have housed such a terrifying figure.
“Those of you who barged into the Intentionless City, die!”
Mo Wen’s eyes glinted as his gaze swept over the people of the Shattered Cloud Sect who had barged into the Intentionless City. The moment he spoke, Gu Jingman flew out. Like a she-devil, corpses fell from the sky everywhere she went. Not a single person from the Shattered Cloud Sect could defend themselves against her blow and everyone was decimated in immediately.
As for Chen Tianxiao, he was barely able to save himself. So, obviously, there was no way he could save the people of the Shattered Cloud Sect.
In an instant, blood rained from the skies and Intentionless City was covered in corpses.
“Weren’t you acting all high and mighty just a while ago, little thief? I’m here to take your wretched life now.”
The Ink Scaled King chuckled darkly, taking step after step towards Chen Tianxiao. He was one of the Three Great Kings of the ancient land, and not a single one of them could be messed with, so there was no way Chen Tianxiao would be a match for him. Perhaps a cultivator like Chen Tianxiao would have been his match while he was still trapped in the ancient lands. However, now that he was outside of the place and free from the oppression of world rules, he was like a fish in the water.
Chen Tianxiao had been so terrified that all the blood had drained from his face. From that one contact, he knew that he was definitely no match for the man in black armor. The aura that this man gave off was simply too terrifying—it was ancient, profound, and savage… He had never encountered such a terrifying aura before. That was just not human.
The Ink Scaled King was, indeed, not human. He was from the foreign clan who had the blood of the Qilin running through his veins. He had been alive for hundreds of thousands of years, so one could only imagine how ancient and unrestrained his aura was. In terms of age, there was probably not a single person in the whole of the Peng Lai Immortal Realm who had lived as long as the Three Great Kings had. The life expectancy of humans was limited; even Immortal Cultivators had a limited lifespan—unless they were immortals or Heavenly Path Sages who surpassed and lived alongside the heaven and the earth and shone with the moon and the sun.
A cultivator at the Divine Illusionary realm would live up to hundreds of thousands of years old, at best, and it was impossible for such a person to exist in the Peng Lai Immortal Realm.
Chen Tianxiao was overcome with fear and completely unable to retaliate. He turned to flee.
But how could he escape the Ink Scaled King’s pursuit? Even if we disregarded the gaping difference between their cultivation, the Ink Scaled King had the innate skill of the Qilin blood, which made him a lot faster than Chen Tianxiao.
“Wait, Your Excellency, let’s talk this through,” Chen Tianxiao called out in fear when he realized he would not be able to outrun the Ink Scaled King. The man in black armor was just too scary. To think the Peng Lai Immortal Realm had someone like this.
“Talk things through? As if. I have no wish to listen to your nonsense.” The Ink Scaled King chased after Chen Tianxiao calmly. No matter how hard he tried, there was no way Chen Tianxiao would be able to outrun him. At the same time, feigning an air of casualness, the Ink Scaled King slowly extended one hand and waved.
In the next instant, that hand morphed into a huge, terrifying claw several thousand feet high. The claw was covered in deep black scales and a sharp layer of horns. The entire sky was covered by the huge claw. The terrifying aura caused all the living spirits in the Green Ancient Mystery Dimension to quake in fear.
Chen Tianxiao was so terrified that his soul left his body. He lost control as he screamed out, “Mercy, mercy please, senior! I did not mean to offend you. It is all a misunderstanding, all of it.”
The ink Scaled King laughed darkly, completely ignoring Chen Tianxiao’s pleas. The huge claw descended and all the space beneath it seemed to crack under pressure. The airwaves formed into shock waves, sweeping through the entire Green Ancient Mystery Dimension in an instant. It was even more violent than typhoons.
Chen Tianxiaos’s body was frozen to the ground, unable to move any further. The looming claw crushed him in an instant, much like a five-fingered mountain.
“Haha, Qilin Arm! I’ve finally succeeded in cultivating the Qilin Arm of legends.”
The Ink Scaled King laughed uproariously, extremely excited. The Qilin Arm was a great magical power from the Qilin Clan in the primeval times. Word of its power spread far and wide, and it was extremely terrifying. When the Ink Scaled King had still been in the preliminary ancient land, he had tried to cultivate the Qilin Arm for thousands of years, but to no avail. There was no other reason: his blood was not refined enough, and it affected his cultivation. After leaving the preliminary ancient land, coupled with the miraculous encounter in the Creation Pool, his blood had yet again improved and became closer to that of the primeval Qilin. As such, he could cultivate the Qilin Arm.
A remarkable power like the Qilin Arm was overkill when dealing with Chen Tianxiao. However, the Ink Scaled King had been overwhelmed by his excitement at cultivating it, so he unleashed it anyway.
“You’re bullying the weak, senior. Aren’t you ashamed of yourself, picking on a junior like me?”
Chen Tianxiao looked coldly at the Ink Scaled King. He knew that things were not looking good for him. He could tell that this man in black armor was an ancient cultivator who had lived for longer than he could guess. The aura coming off of him was enough to breed fear and horror within him.
There was no way he could escape a powerhouse like this.
“Bullying the weak? Earlier on you stood on the walls of the Intentionless City to pick on the weak, no? So, you now know to speak like that too, huh?” The Ink Scaled King chuckled coldly. He was in no particular hurry to kill Chen Tianxiao. It was much like he was teasing a little worm.
Chen Tianxiao flushed. He had, indeed, gone a little too far with his bragging, but what else was he to do? He had initially thought his cultivation was the strongest in the whole of the Green Ancient Mystery Dimension, but who would have known that such a terrifying being resided here.
“Tell me, little thief: how did you come to the main space? I thought the Huatian Palace didn’t allow you to go out,” the Ink Scaled King remarked mildly.
After some time had passed, he knew that the situation in the outside world was no longer the same as ancient times or like what he imagined it to be. However, the Ink Scaled King was not a person from ancient times and he had been out before, so the outside world was not all that mysterious to him.
Chen Tianxiao kept silent, as though he refused to speak.
“You won’t say anything? I’ll make you wish you were dead, and then we’ll see if you insist on being so stubborn. I wonder how long you’ll persist.”
The Ink Scaled King looked coldly at Chen Tianxiao. He had a few tricks up his sleeve to deal with someone like this.
“I’ll speak if you let me go,” Chen Tianxiao said after he thought for a while.
“You’re negotiating with me.” The Ink Scaled King laughed. He seemed happy but in the next instant, Chen Tianxiao’s sharp wails filled the air. His entire body had been locked up like a rat as black flames pierced into his head, as though burning his soul.
“Kill…me…”
Chen Tianxiao’s body shivered violently; even speaking was too much to handle. His soul was being burned, no less than by the terrifying Qilin fire.
“I won’t. I’m prepared to let it burn for ten thousand years. Yes, my fire won’t burn your soul beyond repair. Your soul will not die even if fit burns for a hundred thousand years.”
A hundred thousand years!
Chen Tianxiao’s entire body convulsed when he heard this. He was ready to die after just one second, much less a hundred thousand years.
“I…I’ll speak…”
Chen Tianxiao knew that he had no choice. He was certainly not a stubborn person, definitely not like the heroes of the legends.
“Speak then.” The Ink Scaled King slowly called back the Qilin fire. What he had asked was the same question as what Mo Wen wanted to ask. The cultivators from the Peng Lai Immortal Realm were appearing regularly, and their cultivation was getting stronger as time went on. He wanted to know exactly who was helping them.
“Hades Mountain… and the Skewed Moon Chamber of Commerce,” Chen Tianxiao released a slow exhale before he spoke warily.
Hades Mountain had its own channels to release advanced cultivators. As for the Skewed Moon Chamber of Commerce, they were one of the three great chambers of commerce. They had a rich history, and more than half of the cultivators who were appearing in the Green Ancient Mystery Dimension had come from their channels.
Although the Huatian Palace had been not been as stringent with the cultivators who were below the Primordial Soul realm and were usually very lax, there was no way they would allow so many of them to leave at once. Also, for some reason, the checks at the Huatian Palace had become a lot stricter these days, so it was virtually impossible for such a large batch of people—even if all of them were below the Primordial Soul realm—to leave at once. As such, they had no choice but to turn to the Skewed Moon Chamber of Commerce, sneaking out under the pretext of doing business.
