The rat told me with empathy in her eyes.

I told the giant female rat before I climbed up the stairs and finally exited the sewage system. It opened up near the station, but the streets were abandoned and almost littered with rats.

They all looked at me and for the first time, I did not feel anger or fear but pity.

The rats were crying out in pain and suffering, and yet, they seemed unable to do anything about it.

Since I felt pity for them, I decided to give them one last gift.

I asked the rats and they suddenly looked at me with interest.

So, instead of heading home, I decided to circle around a few times before I reached my shop and entered it.

"Tsk, today has been exhausting. I just want to go to sleep and rest my tired body."

I complained one second and the next, I had a puppy running between my legs and pawing at my feet.

"You are back? I understand your voice. Where were you? What were you doing? Are you hurt? Where is food? Did you bring any? A king like me needs to eat to get stronger."

Ah yes, between all that happened, I had forgotten about Fenrir and the fact that my ability might extend to him as well.
