Shadow Weaver: Sole Heir Of The Night

Chapter 65: Proposal

"Yes, that's me," Enzo nodded, seeing the second years in front of him with flyers.

"We are from the House of Snowfall. We would like to speak to you about the prospects of becoming a member of our prestigious club," one of the young ladies, one with white hair, stepped forward and spoke in a tempered manner.

House Snowfall, Mr. White was once a student of the academy and was, in fact, a member of the club in the past. They were formed at the inception of the institute by the Snowfall family, a prestigious family of the Northern Isles region.

They were number one in the institute, taking the most beneficial missions every season and completing them without fail. Joining them was more of an opportunity that an option to most.

"Ohh, that's good. What is the proposal?"

Mr. White had told him not to feel pressured if they asked him to join though; the deal had to be to his taste. If not, he could flat out refuse.

He had very good bargaining chips, after all.

"This year we are taking the Titan Class Bomber Project. Our goal is to acquire three of them for maximum grading and proficiency. At worst, we all pass. That's a guarantee from me to you, plus you'll have access to our tool shed and second picks at contributions on a large scale," the young lady explained in detail what Enzo would gain from joining them.

The House of Snowfall really had a lot of mechanisms in place to foster the growth of their club. It ranged from high-end weave pods, skill trees, and equipment. Joining them was a golden opportunity.

And they were willing to use those as bargaining chips to attract the most talented people to their club.

"What do you guys think? Pretty nice benefits, huh?" Enzo turned to Raven and Zeke, showing them the flyers in Ernest.

If they would be enjoying all these benefits, then joining up wouldn't be bad at all. As Expected of a strong club.

"Actually, the invitation is just for you. We have a 50-man limit this year," the lady suddenly spoke out apologetically, drawing Enzo's attention.

They were here just for him. Raven and Zeke, despite being talents, were unknowns. The Twin Star was a mystery to them on Earth, but they knew exactly how terrifying a Great Star holder could be.

"Ohh, is that so?" Enzo frowned, then his gaze panned around and noticed a few gazes lingering or dashing away from them.

Call it intuition, or the creeping feeling one got from being in the middle of a conspiracy, but Enzo felt something was wrong.

'Feels like Galafray all over again.'

He thought, then waved the flyer casually in the air as he broke into a pretentious smile.

"We have till the end of today to consider, right? I'll need to consult my mentor before proceeding," Enzo said respectfully, which for some reason dimmed the atmosphere.

His wordings were polite, but when speaking to people of great influence, politeness wasn't the only thing that mattered. There was an obvious sense of hostility just now due to that.

"We'll see you soon," the lady responded, then turned left to walk over to a new set of individuals, sending out official invitations.

"Let's move away from these recruiters," Enzo suggested as they walked towards the side gate and went to the second spire compound next to the main one.

This was called the New Moon Campus.

It was one of the two campuses of the Dual Moon Institute and where Mr. White taught as an instructor.

Opening the door and stepping into the main building, Enzo and the other two were met with several large halls that branched into classrooms and workshops.

The institute was dedicated to giving all their weavers the appropriate knowledge and facilities to achieve their goals, not just in the project but also in life.

"They're gone?" Enzo asked, looking over his shoulder, noticing the members of Snowfall and others had stopped trailing them.

'A joint effort, huh? I wonder what they were trying to do.'

Enzo thought in his mind as he watched where they once trailed them from.

"Why were they following us?" Raven asked, a bit confused by the situation.

"I have an idea," Enzo muttered.

Mr. White had expressed his concern about the two of them appearing in the institute at the same time. The Great Star and the Twin Star were certainly related.

There had been maybe two cases of people claiming to have Great Stars he had heard of, but not once had he heard of a Twin Star—talk less of having them in the same room.

He wanted Enzo and Raven to stick together no matter what, feeling that there was at least an inkling of destiny at play here.

"Let's go see Mr. White," Enzo added, walking in one direction.

He had a feeling—that was enough evidence for him to be suspicious, and meeting Mr. White was the next actionable step.

And so they found him, and he confirmed Enzo's earlier suspicion.

The clubs were trying to separate Enzo and Raven for fear of them overshadowing them in the near future.

"Hmmm," Enzo smiled bitterly as they left Mr. White's office.

The old man had apologized to him profusely in the stead of the House of Snowfall, citing new leadership and their cheap tactics.

He was now a teacher—a completely different association from the house's student management.

"What do we do?" Raven asked, a bit confused about all the politics. This was her first day as an official member of the institute, and all of this was happening?

"I'm thinking…" Enzo rubbed his chin for a few seconds, trying to see a way forward.

That was when the person who had been silent this whole time finally spoke up.

"Why don't we just start our own club?" Zeke said with a "did you guys really not think of this?" smile on his face.
