The training grounds weren't far from the well that Layla had put on earth. Not that far for Kurt at least, jumping down a mountain is a lot faster than up. And since it was near Dakota Springs, and the training ground wasn't too far either. He had the note from Arthur and his cape.

After an afternoon of leaping, then running, Kurt started to use his power less, he saw the training ground and didn't want to get spotted himself. Arthur had told him most likely it would be called back if something happened to the castle, they would bring everyone back just in case even if they weren't completely done.

It did seem that the training area was a little busy, and seemed to be moving everyone around. Kurt had jumped up to the trees thinking most people don't look up for people, and had managed to get fairly close with a few more jumps towards the complex. He needed to figure out where Jacob was now, scanning the people he could see. But none of them looked like him.

Kurt crept around the perimeter, trying to find him somewhere, without getting seen himself. He didn't know what to do after that but if he could figure out where he was at least he was getting somewhere.

He stumbled upon a few guards outside the complex, and remained quiet, they were discussing everything, but one of the voices was Jacob's he'd found him. And in the best way, only a few people around him.

"So what do you think the big deal is, everyone is scrambling to get ready to move. This is the last parole."

"Something must have happened at the castle," said Jacob, "but my dad's there so everything should be fine."

"Yeah, cutting the training short is almost unheard of, I hear, has to be serious."

"Anyway, I get back to yall you know, nature calls." said Jacob. "No peeking, I don't want you to get embarrassed by the size of my manhood."

"Yeah, right buddy."

This was the perfect moment to do it, if he could just get close enough to Jacob while he was. Trying to relieve himself. Maybe he could get done with this. Remaining as silent as he could he moved from tree to tree and then started down on. Landing near Jacob.

"Hey Jacob it's me Kurt."

"Kurt, ummm, what are you doing here," Jacob turned, still peeing, "one second." He finished up.

"You know I'm supposed to report you for just being here right, are you mad. You miss me that much?"

"Yeah, it's a little more serious than that."

"I'm listening to why I shouldn't just shout to the rest of my patrol, and that's only because you're my friend."

Kurt took out his father's cape and the letter that he had written. And handed it to Jacob. "You are coming with me Jacob, we don't have the time."

Jacob took the cape, giving Kurt a weird glance. Then he opened the letter and read it.

"Kurt this letter can't be true, that's impossible."

"It's all true Jacob, we have to go before the rest of the patrol misses you."

"I can't just leave Kurt."

"Jacob," Kurt made his hand into a water fist, "you may think you know how strong I am but I assure you it's a lot more than you think."

"This would cause a war Kurt."

"Yes Jacob, I can protect you."

"So you snuck all the way here to get me?"

"Yes, now let's go."

"So the reason for the training session is because Castle Bright Flame Fell."

"Toppled over."

"So what are you offering me?" said Jacob.

"What do you want?"

"Money, power, and you know women."

"I can arrange some of that, you have to use your charm for the rest."

"I do have plenty of that available to me." said Jacob, "And dad's there?"

"Yeah," said Kurt. Still in a crouched position.

"Well at least I would be able to speak with him about it. Lead the way."

"Just like that."

"This," Jacob said holding up the letter from Arthur, " tie worded like orders to me if you didn't noticed, so in some respects I could claim the fire clan ordered me to go with you, so why not? Dad's smart like that. I can see what he saying here."

"You don't like it here."

"It kind of sucks bro. And if dad says come here, I go there. You know that."

And the two had managed to escape the training facility without much problem. After a while they started to hear shouting, but they would be long gone before a proper search would begin. There were some points against Jacob's wish. Kurt picked him up and leapt with him. Especially near the end. Jacob didn't like being carried like that. And by the time they got there it was in the middle of the night. The last few jumps were rough. Could take a breather.

"So where now."

"One second let me catch my breath, jumping with you is hard."

"Well let's talk about some of that power for me, I didn't enjoy it either."

Kurt then got up, bushed himself off and grabbed Jacob's shoulder and they slipped to Layla's throne room.

"Damn, you really weren't lying, I was starting to question all this. So where is dad?"

"We have to make another trip so we can do that tomorrow."

"And what are all these goblins?" said Jacob, looking around and seeing a few.

The similar situation and the similar solution came about. Jacob had to go through the translation spell with one of the goblin shamans. And Jacob could understand them.

"Ohh wow, that's weird."

"I know right."

"Like it's overtop of them speaking I hear both."

"You're taking this well."

"I mean I don't think you came out there for nothing, if Castle Bright Flame fell, it's going to be a war zone, screw that, I like my life. Ohh can I drink that, is it a mana spring."

"Sure is, go for it, it gives you these tentacle things, Sara uses it."

"Sara's here?"

"Ohh I didn't mention she has here own well actually."

"What the hell dude? Why didn't you bring me?"

"Umm you were going to the fire clan. Your dad came, he was looking for us. Maybe if that didn't happen."

"Fuck, really so when we were talking about, and your sure I can drink it, the lord isn't going to be like what's wrong with you."

"About that, it's sort of Lord Kurt now, you are ummm supposed to bow and stuff, like to me," Kurt said scratching his head. "So, it is me that gives the permission."

"Come again?"

"Yeah, it's a long story."

"Okay so do we know who attacked us then?"

"Yeah, about that…we do."

"The Valentine clan, or Hamlet?"

"Umm, here's the thing, it was sort of me," said Kurt.

"You sort of glossed over that part Kurt, so where is my dad?"

"He sort of, my prisoner, technically Layla is Queen now, or will be when she crowns herself."

"And what does that make me? And who is Layla?"

"She's the Fae."

"Kurt, what does that make me?"

"Jacob, you're welcome here. Come on, what do you think I'm going to do?"

"Apparently topple over Bright Flame Castle dude. These goblins appear to be armed, as well as yourself. What is actually going on? I'm here. Tell me."

Kurt then took his time trying to explain most of what happened since he left his house. He had suggested it would be good to get food in the mess hall.

"So wait, you have this countess girlfriend too?"

"Yeah, sort of, I haven't seen her in a bit. She should be coming by soon though."

"She hot?"

"Very."

"And you sure you want her to meet me — before the wedding," said Jacob, smiling at him.

"You are actually just a commoner at best to her and an enemy at worst."

"Opposites attract," said Jacob.

Kurt continued his story from when he met Talia, and how the world whole ordeal happened. And finally got to. And how Sara was off to get his mother and hopefully be here soon as well.

"And you here you are," Kurt finished to the point of the story they had gotten to.

"So I'm like a bargaining chip to get dad on your side."

"You could see it that way."

"Cool, that means you have to keep me happy, now tell me, how do I get one of them fancy titles here?"

"I'll think about that."

"Well think faster, Dutchess Sara, and I can't be Baron von Jacob?"

"Listen, you may not believe it but I'm sort of the one in charge here. You are not going to be bossing me around here, this is my house this time."

"Okay okay, but tell your girlfriend to bring a friend at least, none of these goblins even seem female even."

"Yeah, Mother Carla — is not your type."
