Where is God pointing?

chapter 4 - Experiment No. 438

“Your Majesty, the research division of the Celestial God Sect reports that experimental subject 438 has disappeared.” A subordinate ran into the great hall in a panic. “Is that the one that was originally meant for the God Himself?” The face of King Ruoshang darkened. “Exactly that one. The experiment created an alternate space portal and escaped.” “Immediately order the Twelve Star Guardians of the Celestial God to capture the experiment and bring it back! This is the only one of its kind in the human realm—it must be recovered!”The Divine Realm was another world relative to the human realm. It was essentially a domain of monsters, filled with thousands of species. Moreover, this realm was connected with other worlds, making it a place where one could rapidly increase in rank. “So this is the legendary Divine Realm?” Qiansha stood up, observing the surroundings. The sky was dark with a purplish hue, forests spread around them. Xiantian climbed up from the ground and asked, “But there are no monsters around here.” “Let’s go look for some.” Just as Qiansha finished speaking, a shadow flashed past them. He sensed the presence of an enemy nearby, infused wind-element energy into his sword, and thrust it forward. Whoosh! Instantly, all the surrounding currents surged toward the direction his sword pointed, uprooting trees entirely. “Roar…” A monster appeared before them, its torso pierced through, flesh mangled. Qiansha frowned as it lunged at him, but his sword—already charged with wind—shattered its body in a single strike. “Qiansha, why is your strength so much greater than before?” Xiantian asked, staring at tree trunks hurled dozens of meters away by the gale. “The loss of my closest kin awakened a power several times stronger within me. But…” Qiansha looked at Xiantian, “I must grow stronger. I won’t allow anyone I know to be taken away again.”Just then, a streak of white light shot across the sky. Qiansha looked up, startled, as a small white figure plummeted from above. Both he and Xiantian hurriedly dodged as it crashed between them. “What kind of creature is this??” Qiansha exclaimed, pulling the little figure’s head out from where it had buried into the ground. “Body of an Immortal—how dare a mortal touch me!” The little man stood up, pointing angrily at Qiansha. Xiantian glanced at his sword, then at Qiansha, ready to strike, but Qiansha gestured for restraint and grabbed the small being. “Calling yourself the body of an Immortal? Where did you come from?” Qiansha activated his senses but detected nothing from the creature. “He has a crystal behind his head!” Xiantian suddenly said. Qiansha looked and indeed spotted a golden crystal there. “Oh~ so you’re a monster after all. In that case, I won’t be polite.”Qiansha drew his sword and aimed it at the little man. The creature’s face turned pale, collapsing to the ground in terror. “Wa—” Before it could finish speaking, Qiansha severed its head with a single stroke. Black blood gushed out, and the golden crystal fell from its skull. “This kind of weak monster’s {N•o•v•e•l•i•g•h•t} crystal probably won’t give much.” Wrapping the crystal in wind energy, Qiansha suddenly felt a strange power. “This…” He stared at the crystal in his hand as it slowly faded, its energy converging into his heart. “Puah!” Qiansha collapsed, spitting out purple blood. The moment it touched the soil, the ground began to corrode. “What’s happening?!” Xiantian rushed to his side, holding him up. He wiped Qiansha’s mouth with cloth, but before he could finish, half the fabric had already disintegrated. “What the hell is this?” Tossing aside the ruined cloth, Xiantian pulled out stones and medicines from his pack. Remembering what Lin Qi had said earlier, he smashed a stone against the ground. As it shattered, a beam of light burst forth from the earth, gradually forming a tall human figure. “So soon you’ve run into trouble…” Lin Qi stepped out of the radiance with a smile, immediately noticing Qiansha’s condition. “What happened to him?” Lin Qi frowned, stepping closer. Xiantian quickly explained everything. Lin Qi nodded. “His power must have been forcibly absorbed from that monster’s crystal. Hold him steady—I’ll open a portal to return us.”“Indeed, this thing works quite well.” The voice came from behind. Lin Qi and Xiantian turned sharply to see a tall man walking toward them. He carried a long blade, and in his pouch glimmered multiple glowing objects—monster crystals. “Who are you?!” Lin Qi demanded, sensing hostility, and blocked the man’s path. “I am the Twelfth of the Celestial God’s Twelve Star Guardians—Jinlong. I’ve come to retrieve Experiment No. 438. You mortals… do you mean to oppose the power of the gods?”“The Twelve Star Guardians…” Lin Qi frowned, pulling another stone from his pocket and shattering it. Another humanoid figure emerged. “What now? I was sleeping…” Faros yawned, appearing before them and spotting the group. “Lin Qi, what’s going—” He didn’t finish before Jinlong’s blade came crashing down, unleashing a torrent of energy that filled the area with smoke. “Hmph, that’s your fate. If you won’t hand it over—” But Jinlong froze mid-sentence as several shockwaves tore through the smoke. Faros had caught the blade with his bare hand. “Explosive Burst!” Faros shoved the sword aside, instantly flashing in front of Jinlong and slamming a fist into his chest. The ground quaked violently. “You do have some strength.” Faros noted, seeing that the strike only dented the man’s armor. Jinlong’s hands ignited with flames. “Divine Art!” The fire swelled severalfold. Faros sensed danger, dodging one blazing strike, but the other hand came crashing toward him. At that instant, Lin Qi darted forward, slashing Jinlong’s arm. Empowered by fire elements, his blade shattered the armor. “You’re impressive—but that’s all you amount to!” Jinlong sneered, his body erupting with immense energy. “Divine Reinforcement—activate!”Faros glanced at Lin Qi, signaling him to protect the others. “Understood!” Lin Qi ran to Xiantian’s side. “I’ll get you two out with a portal, and then… huh?” He stopped suddenly, realizing something. Both he and Xiantian turned to look—Qiansha was gone. “That brat—where did he run off to?”
