The Ancestor of All Demons

Chapter 459: Master Caiwei 374

Chen Yufeng had failed in her schemes twice, and people were beginning to doubt her, the proud disciple of Master You Tan.

On the contrary, Jiang Xuejun and Zhu Youmu, the successors of Ying Mu and Bai Mei Zen Master, instilled great confidence with their words.

After all, Elder Yuan was no weakling, and he had obtained the legendary Heavenly Demon Immortal Slaying Sword, yet he was easily robbed of it by these two. This showed that all the rumors about how fearsome the Heavenly Demon Immortal Slaying Sword was, and the calamities it could bring to the Immortals, were false—at least, before these two individuals!

Since they could handle this Heavenly Demon Immortal Slaying Sword, naturally, they could deal with the other nine Heavenly Demon Immortal Slaying Swords...

The crowd started to support their plan, and Yang Jin also said, "Now, that demon is overconfident and hasn't summoned all his disciples and the massive demon forces from Outer Heaven Divine Mountain to Qiao Mountain. It won't be difficult for us to drive him away now, and it would be best if we could seize the chance to slay him. If he summons his disciples and a vast number of demons from Outer Heaven Divine Mountain, it will become problematic."

Chen Yufeng wanted to intervene but ultimately chose to remain silent.

Master You Tan had cautioned her repeatedly on the way here that the Demon Dragon's fate was not yet at an end and not to confront it directly, otherwise, there would be severe casualties. If Qiao Mountain were destroyed and the Holy Mausoleum damaged, it would be everyone's sin.

But now Chen Yufeng couldn't dissuade them. Zhu Youmu and Jiang Xuejun felt that with so many people here, there was no need for plotting. They could simply charge forward and chase him away; Zhu Youmu even felt there was no need for so many to go together—he and Jiang Xuejun alone would suffice.

That was precisely their plan moments ago. After stealing the Heavenly Demon Immortal Slaying Sword from Elder Yuan, they intended to head straight to Qiao Mountain and confront the Evil Dragon.

However, the Heavenly Demon Immortal Slaying Sword had spoken quite a bit to Zhu Youmu.

Zhu Youmu had initially not taken the Heavenly Demon Immortal Slaying Sword seriously, thinking he could easily subdue it. However, he was nearly injured by the Demon Sword at the start of their duel due to carelessness.

After seizing the sword, he wanted to destroy it, but the Demon Sword caused the three Shariputra in his body to flicker and shine. It claimed that it was no longer a Demon Sword, but a Buddha Sword, and had received the teachings of a high monk. It intended to enlighten all beings. The sword had initially sought to transform the malice in Elder Yuan's heart and lead him into Buddhism, appointing him as the Great Saint Wukong and protector. However, this process was interrupted by Zhu Youmu and Jiang Xuejun reigniting the old ape's anger, spoiling the effort. Nonetheless, they couldn't blame others, only the old ape's meager fortune, for not having the destiny to continue listening to the Buddhist Law.

These words first mitigated part of Zhu Youmu's hostility towards the sword. Following that, it spoke at length about Shi Feiyang, even claiming that Shi Feiyang was unkind to it: "That Evil Dragon indulges in the Dao and eliminates Buddhism, detesting those from Buddhist circles and incessantly cursing them. I've long wanted to slay him with a single stroke during his cultivation, to punish him for slighting Buddhism and send him straight to Avici Hell! Day and night, I pray to Amitabha Buddha, hoping to eventually fall into the hands of a Buddhist adept. Indeed, Buddha is compassionate, allowing me to end up in your hands."

Zhu Youmu didn't completely believe these words, but the Demon Sword quickly engaged him in a battle of wits, discussing Buddhist Law. Having stayed by Master Yichen's side for many years, the Demon Sword was well-versed in Buddhist anecdotes and scriptures, which it recited incessantly to Zhu Youmu, eventually convincing him to abandon his plan to destroy it.

Zhu Youmu decided to bring the sword back after everything was settled and hand it over to Bai Mei Zen Master for disposal.

Pleased with itself, the Demon Sword spoke ill of Shi Feiyang at some length, telling Zhu Youmu all about Shi Feiyang's Magical Treasures, Spells, habits, and behavior. It also advised Zhu Youmu: "He has nine Heavenly Demon Immortal Slaying Swords, but I fear none of them individually, none are a match for me, not even two together, nor three—key is the nine together, with the Demon at the helm setting up the Nine Child Mother Sky Demon Slaying Immortal Array. Immortals and Buddhas alike would be slain upon entering, their bodies crushed into bone and flesh, before their Divine Souls are sucked away with their blood by the Demon—too brutal!"

Hearing this, Jiang Xuejun objected, "I have the Soundless Divine Thunder; I just need to blast it towards the Demon to see how he withstands it!"

The Demon Sword replied, "I've also heard of the Miao Zhen Temple's Soundless Divine Thunder, truly a nemesis of all demons. But his Array is formidable, possessing the power to invert Yin and Yang, and distort spacetime, too complex to explain briefly. Nevertheless, during my days hidden by his side, constantly contemplating, I've thought of a way to break his Demon Formation. It would require nine exceptional treasure swords wielded by nine top experts to break the Array..."

After explaining his method for breaking the Array, Zhu Youmu and Jiang Xuejun were not the rash type. They thought there was some logic in the Demon Sword's words, so they returned to discuss with everyone, planning to join forces to breach the Array.

The individuals from the Orthodox Sect had plenty of rare treasures. Hearing this, the Divine Nun Dragon Slayer was the first to express her willingness: "My Master's gifted Dragon Slayer Treasure Saber is precisely for settling the score with that Demon Sword!"

With nine Divine Weapons determined to be sufficient to break the Array, they left the cave and departed from Qinling, flying together towards Qiao Mountain.

They divided into two groups, landing on the high points on either side of Qiao Mountain to the east and west.

Zhu Youmu glanced at the Five-Colored Arch below the mountain and then at the staircase winding up along the mountain terrain, chuckling, "This Array is nothing special. Watch me break it!"

He formed Sealing gestures with his hands and chanted a Buddha's name. Within three hundred miles around Qiao Mountain, a scent of sandalwood wafted through the air, rejuvenating the spirit of anyone who smelt it. Accompanying the fragrance was the spontaneous appearance of golden Buddha Light, surging like mist through the air—this was the most famous Sandalwood Buddha Light from the lineage of Bai Mei Zen Master!

Zhu Youmu started by unleashing the Great Sandalwood Buddha Light, enveloping the entire three hundred miles around Qiao Mountain. Then, the Buddha Light surged towards Qiao Mountain like tidal waves, first striking the Five-Colored Arch, triggering it to burst into radiant light. The arch's internal colors erupted forth, colliding with the Buddha Light, exploding into unbounded gleaming radiance and lighting up the sky with a bizarre array of colors.

Zhu Youmu continued casting, as wave after wave of Buddha Light smashed over, each wave building on the power of the previous, with its force multiplying. The relentless bombardment surged on and on.

However, that Five-Colored Arch seemed like a reef in the great sea, allowing the waves to crash against it without falling!

After a standstill of about the time it takes to drink a cup of tea, Zhu Youmu could not overcome that archway and deeply felt the humiliation, "Since this is the case, don't blame me for being ruthless!"

He sat down cross-legged on the ground, concentrated and began casting, a great deal of Sandalwood Buddha Light surged out from within his body, enveloping him in golden radiance, dazzlingly intricate. Suddenly, he let out a great shout, raised his right hand, and sent forth a golden light hand directly flying out. During its flight, it grew rapidly in size, first soaring to the clouds, expanding to a hundred zhang in size, then struck down directly towards Qiao Mountain!

This was the Demon-suppressing Great Technique of Bai Mei Zen Master, named Vajra Giant Spirit God Palm. Once deployed, everything within a fifty li radius on the ground and within three hundred and sixty zhang above and below would be turned to dust!

Zhu Youmu was Bai Mei Zen Master's leading disciple, a cultivator of many lifetimes, the renowned Master Caiwei. This palm strike, emerging as if Buddha was delivering a demon vanquishing, world-ending palm from outer space, resembled a giant meteorite plummeting straight towards the ground. Everyone, including those who stood beside Zhu Youmu, felt as though a catastrophe was imminent!

Just as this palm was about to strike upon Qiao Mountain, should it really hit solidly, the mountain would surely split and be leveled!

Suddenly, a colorful radiance about a zhang in length shot out from the mountainside. Beneath the hundred zhang long golden giant palm, it seemed almost inconsequential, as if it would shatter from the impact of the palm's power in the next moment. However, at that time, Shi Feiyang unleashed Suiren's Drill, which bore directly into the massive golden hand, and the next moment, the huge Buddha Palm exploded into a ball of colorful fire clouds!

"What!" Zhu Youmu sprang up, unable to believe his own eyes, "Suiren's Drill! That must be the legendary Suiren's Drill, to be so formidable!"

Buddhist masters do not necessarily need a Flying Sword Magical Treasure when dueling; one thought of Buddha Light can attack or defend, capture or expel, with various wonderful effects contained within a single mind.

The lesser and greater Sandalwood Buddha Lights come from his many lifetimes of cultivation. The Vajra Giant Spirit God Palm is based on the Sandalwood Buddha Light; the Buddha Palms created are harder than steel, and no enemy's Flying Sword Magical Treasure can harm it the slightest, with some shattering before even coming into contact, and the better-quality ones being shaken and deflected.

He knew Shi Feiyang had Suiren's Drill, which once broke through You Tan Master's Separation and Reunion Divine Light at the Star Constellations Sea, but he didn't think it could shatter his Vajra Giant Spirit God Palm. He really had the intention, before coming, to use this palm to crush Suiren's Drill, but it turned out that it was his own spell that was broken instead.

Zhu Youmu gave a light shout, joined his hands together, and produced a great amount of Sandalwood Buddha Light in the air, wrapping around Suiren's Drill in an attempt to forcefully confine it and take it away.

It is common for Buddhist masters to forcibly confiscate other people's Magical Treasures with Buddha Light. In the original text, You Tan Master even confiscated Yi Xiu's Black Dragon Scissors. Even though at that time Yi Xiu was using the Black Dragon Scissors to attack another target and she intervened suddenly, that she could forcibly take away Divine Camel Yi Xiu's Magical Treasure shows the formidable effect of the Buddha Light.

At this moment, Zhu Youmu wanted to use Buddha Light to capture Suiren's Drill, enveloping it to force it to ascend. Indeed, the other side was unable to summon it back, allowing him to take the drill into the sky, then fly back towards him.

All of a sudden, his Heavenly Demon Slaying Immortal Sword behind him trembled and resonated, directly speaking into his mind to warn him, "Divine Monk be cautious, this drill is not to be trifled with!"

Zhu Youmu became alert only after the Demon Sword's warning, by which time the drill suddenly manifested its power, with a Five-color Burst Flash, the drill's tip aimed directly at him, and just one burst shattered his Sandalwood Buddha Light!

Shi Feiyang's Suiren's Drill could even bore through You Tan's Separation and Reunion Divine Light, and Zhu Youmu, no matter how formidable, was still not on par with Divine Nuns You Tan. His Sandalwood Buddha Light was directly penetrated, the Five-colored Radiance headed straight toward his face to drill through.

Zhu Youmu, with his profound knowledge of the Buddhist Law, rapidly chanted a Buddhist name, and with his palms joined together, materialized a pair of Buddha Light hands out of thin air; they closed in from the sides to the center, trying to clamp down on Suiren's Drill within them.

However, in the next moment, Suiren's Drill again unleashed its might, shattering the Buddha Light. He had no choice but to release his own Flying Sword.

A Golden Buddha Sword flew out from his sleeve, bringing with it the scent of sandalwood and trails of Buddha Light, confronting Suiren's Drill.

If Suiren's Drill were to horizontally bore into the sword's spine from the side, it could also snap the sword; if it faced the sword tip head-on, it could also damage the sword tip.

Yet Zhu Youmu, who had trained for many years, had also mastered the art of swordsmanship. Bai Mei Zen Master's abstention from using swords did not mean that he could not. His swordsmanship was not inferior to You Tan Master's. Zhu Youmu's Sandalwood Meritorious Divine Sword was also transmitted to him by Bai Mei Zen Master. Given his high level of Mana, he usually resolved conflicts simply by releasing Buddha Light and had not used this sword for a long time. Back when he and Jiang Xuejun used this sword to slay many evil beings from heterodox sects, his Buddhist practice has grown over the years, and his irritation had lessened, such that he seldom killed anymore. Today, however, he had been pressed so hard that he once again unleashed the sword.

His sword moved as swiftly as flying, not confronting Suiren's Drill head-on, but veering an inch aside at each attack, dodging the drill tip and slashing at the spot near the head of the drill, sparking golden radiance, scattering colorful lights.

Because Shi Feiyang's Suiren's Drill was a Magical Treasure and not as flexible as a Flying Sword which responds to thought, he would be at a disadvantage if the fight continued. He cast a spell from afar to retract the Suiren's Drill.

This exchange of blows did not result in Zhu Youmu losing, as Shi Feiyang did not utilize spells to bombard him head-on, he reacted with a Magical Treasure, and Zhu Youmu responded with a flying sword. In the end, it was Shi Feiyang who first retracted the Magical Treasure.

However, his goal was not achieved; the Five-Colored Arch still stood firmly in place; he had not even seen the face of his enemy, yet he was forced into disarray by a Magical Treasure, indeed a bit mortifying.
