The Ancestor of All Demons

Chapter 351: 315 Evil Skill Yin Residue

Zen Master Xiao Yue and Xun Lanyin went from a swordfight to a magical duel, and finally to unleashing all their Magical Treasures. The more they fought, the fiercer their anger became, until the sky and earth seemed to turn upside down, trees snapped and rocks crumbled...

Zen Master Xiao Yue was astonished to discover that, despite exerting his full strength, he was unable to gain the slightest advantage over Xun Lanyin!

Xun Lanyin's Taiqing Mysterious Sect had mastered the Invisible Sword Energy to perfection, producing not just sword Qi, sword evil, or sword force, but what seemed like tangible Invisible Flying Swords!

When these swords were launched, they were formless and invisible, completely unseen, but incredibly sharp. Xun Lanyin's opening move was to release two Invisible Swords simultaneously: one could bind and forcibly seize Xiao Yue's own Flying Sword Magical Treasure, while the other, along with Yinyang Thunderbolt Sword, slashed towards him.

Zen Master Xiao Yue had forged many Magical Treasures over the years, both righteous and evil. Xun Lanyin's Magical Treasures were also numerous, especially a fan in her hand, which at a glance was clearly a Heavenly Treasure specialized in restraining all sorts of his Evil Skill Magical Treasures. Whether it was Flying Nails Poison Sand, a mere wave of the fan would reduce it to dust!

Despite bringing all his methods into play, Zen Master Xiao Yue found himself at a disadvantage, his mind filled with both shock and rage. At the height of his anger, he was about to unleash the Twelve Supreme Heaven Divine Slaughter that Grandmaster Ha Ha had secretly passed on to him.

The Twelve Supreme Heaven Nine Palaces Gods and Demons Array is a Daoist method that builds upon the Nine Palaces Eight Diagrams Array, using the twelve earthly branches as a foundation to gather twelve types of evil Qi from the universe and form an array. It's an extremely fierce Daoist Skill.

The Twelve Supreme Heaven Secret Demon Great Technique is a Demon Cult method, which uses magic to summon Demonic Qi from twelve demon domains to bolster one's attack against enemies.

Grandmaster Ha Ha's Twelve Supreme Heaven Divine Slaughter combined the Cultivation Techniques from both the Daoist and Demon paths, drawing Demon Qi from twelve different worlds to serve as the evil Qi for casting, making it even more unpredictable and deadly.

Grandmaster Ha Ha himself had poor intentions; he had already refined twelve flags in advance, as well as the preliminary supporting efforts, which, when methodically practiced and deployed, could avoid much of the backlash and exhibit even greater power.

The version he passed to Zen Master Xiao Yue omitted much; without the pre-refined Magical Treasures, casting it would consume a great deal of one's True Yuan and vitality. Every use would reduce one's lifespan by twelve years, and its power was far less than the complete version, but it was still the most formidable spell Xiao Yue currently commanded.

He knew that once he used this technique, if he couldn't kill Xun Lanyin, he would be gravely injured by the backlash, likely resulting in mutual destruction. But having reached this point, it was the only spell he could rely on.

Just as he steeled his heart to cast this spell, from afar, two streaks of sword light flew towards him, quickly approaching. He recognized them as belonging to Master White Cloud and the Drunken Taoist.

Xiao Yue didn't pay much heed to these two; scattering this spell would cover the skies and bury everything beneath it, reducing even a thousand people to ashes.

He wanted to continue casting, but then a crane's cry came from above, a sound he recognized all too well, followed by the voice of Li Yuanhua, "Both of you, cease at once!"

Bearded Immortal Li Yuanhua had the best relationship with Zen Master Xiao Yue among many fellow disciples. It was he who had introduced Li Yuanhua to Master Changmei. Seeing him riding a crane, Xiao Yue finally extinguished his intent to capture them all.

Embarrassed to face his former comrades, knowing that whatever needed to be said had been said, and any more words would only lead to confrontation, Zen Master Xiao Yue quickly made a decision amidst the rapid whirl of thoughts in his mind: to give up the Purple Ying Sword.

He shouted loudly, "Today, without deciding a victor, you outnumber me. Just wait until I get some help, and we'll fight it out again!" With that, he combined his body and sword, soared through the sky, and shot straight up into the heavens.

Deng Yin, controlling the Snow Mountain Sect disciple, also ascended. Xun Lanyin had long noticed something off about him and hurriedly shouted, "Don't let him escape!" waving her fan in pursuit.

The Blood God Child recognized the fan and knew its might. Worried that Xun Lanyin might see through to his essence, he immediately withdrew his Divine Sense. The Snow Mountain Sect disciple, having been controlled for too long and having consumed much of his Primordial Qi and blood, now fell unconscious and plummeted straight back to the ground. Fortunately, he wasn't too high and managed not to get injured.

Xun Lanyin cast a Prohibition to secure the person, and upon closer examination, realized he had been secretly controlled by magic. After awakening and questioning him, she learned he was from the Snow Mountain Sect. After a thorough investigation, she let him go.

The four Emei Sect individuals gathered, all with furrowed brows and troubled expressions. After a brief discussion, they decided to temporarily bring the Purple Ying Sword back to Emei Mountain for safekeeping. At the same time, they sent a message via Flying Sword to the East Sea to inform the Three Heavenly Immortals and await their final decision.

As for Zen Master Xiao Yue, who hurriedly left Mangcang Mountain, he felt somewhat embarrassed. Seeing many of his fellow sect members that day had enlightened him, especially Xun Lanyin's startling advancement, which truly astonished and even made him a little envious:

If he had remained at Emei, solely devoted to cultivating the "Nine Heavens Mysterious Scripture," his Dao Level would not have fallen short of hers. He might have attained Heavenly Immortal status before them both!

Unfortunately, due to a moment of misjudgment... it was also the excessive bullying by the Qi family!

Now that the moon was incomplete, a return was no longer possible; his only option was to relentlessly pursue the cultivation techniques he had to see who would ultimately come out on top in the end!

In fact, he was somewhat disheartened, for he realized that his dual cultivation of both the righteous and evil paths didn't surpass the depth of Xun Lanyin's single dedicated approach. His cultivation of the "Nine Heavens Mysterious Scripture" fell short compared to hers and, therefore, his Daoist power proved no stronger. In that case, what face did he have to establish a new Emei Sect?

Full of sorrowful thoughts, both angry and sad, Zen Master Xiao Yue was entangled in his emotions for several days until Deng Yin sought him out again.

Deng Yin again employed the Snow Mountain Sect disciples. Upon meeting Zen Master Xiao Yue, he understood the monk's intentions. Secretly pleased with himself, he first said to Zen Master Xiao Yue, "I had hoped you would obtain the Purple Ying Sword, not only to counter the Soul Slaughter Flying Saber but also to establish a new Emei Daoist lineage. I didn't expect you to be so feeble, failing to find the Purple Ying Sword quickly and losing to Xun Lanyin as well. That's just too poor!"

Zen Master Xiao Yue, annoyed and ashamed by his words, was at a loss for words.

Deng Yin then told him, "What's there to be dejected about? If you can't get the Purple Ying Sword, there's something else. Let me tell you another location!"

This time, he revealed a spot at Wushan Mountain's Wind and Fire Cliff in Old Trapper Ridge, where two Immortal Swords left by Master Changmei were hidden, one named Heavenly Wisdom and the other Yiguang. They were also divine weapons of unparalleled quality. Although not as powerful as the Purple and Blue Double Swords, they were not far off, not below the Seventh Level, and were of the same caliber.

Zen Master Xiao Yue was overjoyed upon hearing this and clapped his bald head, "How could I have forgotten about these two swords!"

The two quickly set off for Wushan Mountain, arriving at the Wind and Fire Cliff on Old Trapper Ridge.

This place was the Daoist practice ground of Wu Yuanzhi, the Wind and Fire Daoist, who was practicing there with his two disciples, Seven Stars Hand Shi Lin and Lay Buddhist Xu Xiang'e.

When Wu Yuanzhi was in the Emei Sect, he had a deep feud with Zen Master Xiao Yue. In the original story, Wu Yuanzhi was ultimately cut in half at the waist by Zen Master Xiao Yue with one sword at Ci Yun Temple.

Master Changmei had once occupied this cave dwelling at the Wind and Fire Cliff for a short period and had personally set up an elemental formation of water, fire, wind, and thunder. Aside from Emei Sect disciples who could open and close it with Shaqing Immortal Skill, outsiders had absolutely no chance of entering.

Fortunately, Zen Master Xiao Yue was an Emei disciple versed in the Shaqing Immortal Skill.

He cast the spell to open the formation's gate and directly entered the cave.

Wu Yuanzhi, who was cultivating inside the cave, saw him coming and sensed ill intentions; realizing that his life was in danger, he wanted his two disciples to each take an Immortal Sword and flee through a back exit.

Zen Master Xiao Yue saw through his scheme and used his magic to release a cave-filling Black Flame to trap Wu Yuanzhi, then chased after and killed Shi Lin and Xu Xiang'e with one sword each, taking back the Heavenly Wisdom Yiguang Twin Swords. By the time he returned, Wu Yuanzhi had broken free from the Black Flame. Zen Master Xiao Yue dueled with him and shortly thereafter killed him with a sword blow.

Having acquired the Heavenly Wisdom and Yiguang Twin Swords, Zen Master Xiao Yue's long-suspended heart finally settled. He no longer had to fear the Soul Slaughter Flying Saber of Emei Mountain!

Deng Yin said to him, "I know you harbored grand ambitions and remembered the kindness of my brother. Honestly, although I battled bitterly with your master for many years, incurring deep enmity, our relationship was also filled with hefty gratitude. Your master obtained the Purple and Blue Double Swords and the precious Spiritual Jade Peak on Wudang Mountain, and it was indeed I who facilitated it. Over the years, the events of the past keep resurfacing before my eyes,

and the feelings between your master and me were even closer than ordinary brothers, just like flesh and blood. Alas, fate played its hands; too many things happened afterward... Anyway, those old stories are better left unmentioned. I know that your aspiration to become the Emei Sect Leader is not for personal gain, but to prove to your master,

that you want to establish an Emei Sect outside of Qi Shuming and the others, making it stronger and better. It is indeed commendable, and as your uncle, I naturally want to support you fully. However, your current practice of Grandmaster Ha Ha's Evil Skill has already deviated from the orthodox Daoist path of the Emei Sect, turning into an obstacle for your Righteous cultivation. To improve upon Emei's cultivation technique is extremely difficult."

Zen Master Xiao Yue also felt upset about this...

He knew that the most correct path now laid before him was this: forsake all Evil Skills taught by Grandmaster Ha Ha, find a secluded mountain forest, sit in meditation, and allow his Divine Energy to return to purity.

The orthodox Daoist path requires the Primordial Spirit to attain Pure Yang by purifying all yin residues. And everything he gained from practicing Grandmaster Ha Ha's techniques was yin residue!

The higher his Evil Skill, the heavier the yin residue, and the more obstructed and regressed his Righteous Skill.

Were he to truly choose this path and seriously cultivate the "Nine Heavens Mysterious Scripture," deeply engrossed in the practice, he could still aspire to become a Heavenly Immortal.

But he couldn't bear to part with it; the spells taught to him by Grandmaster Ha Ha were truly useful, powerful, and made cultivation faster. He had cultivated with Master Changmei from the Eastern Jin to the Great Ming, through several lifetimes, and had only reached this level. Yet in less than a hundred years with Grandmaster Ha Ha, the power he cultivated was already on par with what he had achieved through orthodox methods!

After all, it was a hundred years of hard work; abandoning it was more painful than cutting his own flesh.

Moreover, if he chose to turn back now, it would mean that the path he had tread for a hundred years was wrong! All the criticisms from his fellow disciples back then, Bai Guyi's disdainful words towards him, they were all true! He was the fool, while they were the wise ones!

This made it even harder for him to accept!

Deng Yin knew his inner thoughts like the back of his hand and continued to tempt him, "When I cultivated the 'Purple and Blue Treasure Talisman,' well, not just the 'Nine Heavens Mysterious Scripture,' but many other Mysterious Sect Secret Manuals, I also practiced from the Demon Cult's supreme secret scripture, the 'Blood God Scripture.' I had no obstacle between the two and had already integrated them.

Do you know why, in our last of three duels, your master trapped me with the Liangyi Dust Formation but did not kill me outright? The deep brotherhood between us was one aspect, and the fact that I practiced the Great Daoist and Demon Skills without conflict was another reason.

We agreed that after that, I would continue to cultivate for another three hundred and sixty-five years and could still achieve Daoist Ascension. Then I could go to the Spiritual Space Immortal Realm to find him. If you are willing to take me as your master and join my sect, I will teach you this technique. You won't have to abandon the Demon teachings, and you can integrate them with the orthodox heart method of the Mysterious Sect,

not only without causing mutual hindrance but also complementing each other, elevating both your Dao power and cultivation level. Then you alone could beat Xu Zhenzi, Qi Shuming, Xun Lanyin to the ground, and when establishing the Orthodox Emei Sect, who among the various sects and Sword Immortals wouldn't give you a thumbs-up in admiration? When you ascend to the Immortal Realm in the future, my brother will also praise you."
