The Ancestor of All Demons

Chapter 268: 263 True Fire vs Demon Fire

In that year's second swordfight, besides the main battlefield at Yellow Mountain, there was also a secondary battlefield at Kaiyuan Temple by Kunming Pool.

Many from the Huashan Sect, the Eastern Demon Cult, and the Western Demon Cult gathered there to duel with monks from the Emei faction and their allied sects and Sword Immortals.

The final outcome was the death of Ling Xuehong, who was reincarnated, with considerable casualties on the side of the Huashan Sect and the Demon Cults as well.

Shang Heyang, the Sect Hierarch of the Eastern Demon Cult; Poison Dragon Venerable, the Sect Hierarch of the Western Demon Cult; and the Fiery Fire Ancestor of the Huashan Sect, these three leaders joined forces to fight against the monk You Tan. The battle raged for three days and nights, even causing a mountain to collapse, but they were still defeated. Their magical treasures were destroyed one by one by You Tan, and the three had no choice but to lead their followers in retreat.

The Huashan Sect was renowned for its swordsmanship like the Wutai Sect, so it was one thing for the Fiery Fire Ancestor to be bested in spellcasting by the old nun, but to also lose in swordfighting to her Heavenly Dragon Demon Suppressing Sword was another. He returned to his mountain to refine the Fiery Fire Thunder Sound Sword further.

Shang Heyang's loss was due to You Tan's Separation and Reunion Divine Light; the most famous practitioners of this Divine Light were Cang Lingzi, the Sect Leader of the Qinghai Sect, and Master You Tan.

Cang Lingzi's background was from an offshoot sect, and while his Separation and Reunion Divine Light was capable of various transformations, its power was limited.

Master You Tan's Separation and Reunion Divine Light, however, was mixed with Buddha Light, unmovable as a mountain, annihilating demons like fire, furious like a wrathful Vajra King. Most of Shang Heyang's powerful demon path magical treasures and spells were countered by the Separation and Reunion Divine Light, and treasures that he had cultivated for hundreds of years were destroyed.

Enraged, he killed five Earth Immortals with considerable Dao Level, gathered massive amounts of materials, and secluded himself in the snowy peaks of the Alps in the West for two to three decades, where he refined a Demon Fire Golden Banner and a set of White Bone Heart-locking Hammers.

Upon his return to Central Earth, he reorganized the teachings of his sect, preparing for the future third swordfight to avenge his previous disgrace by killing the old You Tan nun.

When Shi Feiyang had annihilated the entire sect of the One Light Master, the three Sect Hierarchs, including Shang Heyang, convened to discuss having Shi Feiyang be the first to test out the newly refined magical treasures.

Poison Dragon Venerable, however, gave the excuse that his Divine Sand was not yet fully refined and backed out, while the Green Robe Ancestor was also unwilling to risk his life against a monk from the Western Demon Cult solely for Shang Heyang's cause, leading to the plan falling through.

This time, after the Green Robe Ancestor's Bai Man Mountain was challenged and had its Hundred Poison Golden Silkworm Gu and Mysterious Yin Pearl taken, he came to seek Poison Dragon Venerable's help, claiming that Shi Feiyang was a disaster. They must work together to kill him; otherwise, all the Demon Sects would eventually be destroyed by him, one by one.

Poison Dragon Venerable urged him to remain calm, brought out a crystal ball, and after a devout prayer and casting, Chi Li Lao Fu, his master in the Demon Realm, instructed him that Shi Feiyang was currently residing by the Yuan River banks, where he would eventually seek the treasures of the Golden Gate from the riverbed. They were advised to seize the opportunity to attack him then, with the assurance that people from the Orthodox Sect would join the assault as well, raising the chances of success.

Because of this, they had waited until today, ready to unleash the same methods they had prepared to fight You Tan against Shi Feiyang!

Green Yin Fire, red Demonic Flame, black Poison Smoke, golden Gu insects, and the roaring of fierce ghosts...

The entire sky was filled, turning the whole world into a bizarre and lurid spectacle, as if doomsday had arrived, with it seeming like the entire sky was collapsing and bearing down!

Huo Wuhai was hovering right above the Rainbow Bridge, realizing the severity, he quickly formed hand seals, first rapidly transforming the nine iterations of the Sun True Technique in front of his chest, then spreading his arms to create a fiery ring of flame to envelop himself. With arms shaking in unison, he unleashed torrents of fiery flares, all consisting of massive clumps of Sun Divine Flame, and sucked in a breath of Li Fire from the south before spewing it out violently.

Each burst of flame he emitted swiftly expanded to the size of a rockery, and in an instant, he released thousands, turning into a fiery waterfall as it reached the sky. As he spun and turned, he sprayed flames 360 degrees around.

Those standing on the Rainbow Bridge saw the approaching enemy and the grand scale of the onslaught, all drew their flying swords to prepare to meet the enemy in combat, only to see Huo Wuhai alone summon such an immense spectacle, creating a "Flame Mountain" spanning dozens of miles above their heads, like a massive canopy protecting them firmly.

Huo Wuhai, being a descendant of a human and a Huo An, was innately able to control fire. After a millennium of cultivation, he cultivated his Lifebound Embryo and spent over two hundred years refining the Fire True Scripture in the Lianshan Treasure Vault.

After taking Shi Feiyang as his master, he was reformed and given a customized cultivation technique. Five years ago, he also cultivated the Fire Element Essence Qi from the He Sha Book, consuming a massive amount of Fire Element Essence... In today's world, the number of those who could surpass him in the art of fire could be counted on one hand!

Although he had not yet become an Earth Immortal, his mana significantly exceeded that of ordinary offshoot Earth Immortals, and his True Sun Fire was particularly adept at conquering all sorts of demons, making him the perfect match against the three Sect Hierarchs of the Demon Cults!

First, the green Yin Fire from the Green Robe Ancestor, upon encountering the Sun Divine Flame, vanished like hair singed in a heated furnace.

The green fire contained many gu insects that were not afraid of being burned by ordinary fire, but the True Sun Fire was no ordinary flame. Only a few thousand of the Hundred Poison Green Worm Gu could survive, and the rest quickly turned to ash.

The Hundred Poison Green Worm Gu couldn't withstand the burning for long and would be killed by the prolonged fire. The Green Robe Ancestor quickly cast a spell to call it back, cursing as he released the Mysterious Yin Pearl to fend off the oncoming Sun Divine Flame.

The Five Poison Soul Chasing Red Cloud Sand from Poison Dragon Venerable was slightly stronger than the Green Robe Ancestor's Yin Fire, but only lasted a few seconds before also turning to ash; the poison smoke within turned into foul green smoke, and the fierce ghosts, unable to withstand the Yang Fire, lost control from their master and fled screaming in terror.

Only Shang Heyang's Demonic Flame was formidable enough to contend with the True Sun Fire, and as the two types of flames burned against each other, the True Sun Fire ultimately proved superior, pushing the Demonic Flame towards Shang Heyang.

Shang Heyang stimulated the Demon Fire Golden Banner with his left hand, which spun rapidly, releasing an increased amount of Demonic Flame to compete with the True Sun Fire. Then, with a point of his hand, his right hand launched the Five Elder Hammers, which transformed into the huge heads of five diabolic ghosts. With mouths agape and eyes spewing black smoke, they spit out Demonic Flames and flew side by side into the True Sun Fire, locking onto Huo Wuhai and biting directly towards him!

On the other side, the Poison Dragon Venerable was accompanied by his fellow sect member known as Western Wild Demon Jacob, who was also a Barbarian Monk. He summoned a Magical Treasure called the Rotating Bowl, which, while spinning, discharged black and white energies that captured a vast amount of the True Sun Fire, forcibly sucking it into the bowl.

The Poison Dragon Venerable too summoned nine Poison Dragon Mani Beads, along with his Flying Sword, to strike at Huo Wuhai.

By his side, several other Barbarian Monks also attacked simultaneously. There was Dharma King Hagenib, who once sought to kill Tie San during his tribulation and take his Iron Umbrella, confronting Geng Kun in a duel. Now he released a newly refined Formless Divine Demon, which also plunged into the fire to capture Huo Wuhai.

Another was Brooyinca, who had previously gone with Wei Fengniang to Dinghu Peak to slay the Demon Dragon and seize the Heavenly Book, only to have his Black Crow Needle stolen by Shi Feiyang. Suffering years of intense refinement of his Magical Treasure to seek revenge, he now unleashed eighty-one Asura Blades, hacking through the sky with the aim of striking Huo Wuhai.

These two were not direct disciples of the Poison Dragon Venerable, but belonged to different branches of the Western Demon Cult. United by a common enemy, they all came to join forces in the fight.

The remaining junior disciples and believers, totaling fifty or sixty people dressed as Barbarian Monks or laymen alike, each launched their Flying Sword Magical Treasures, jointly attacking from above.

Huo Wuhai, indifferent to the means of their attacks, simply kept on spouting True Sun Fire, relentless in his emissions. The heat near him couldn't disperse fast enough, growing increasingly intense and quickly burning all of his merfolk silk clothing to ash.

He didn't mind at all and continued breathing fire, which caused his eyebrows and hair to curl up. His whole body was shrouded in a dazzling white light, so even Sha Feiyang, looking from the outside with his keen vision, couldn't see him but only a ball of white radiance.

Ordinary Flying Sword Magical Treasures couldn't approach him—they either vaporized or turned to ashes.

Brooyinca's Asura Blades, which he had painstakingly trained for many years to avenge Wei Fengniang by slaying the Demon Dragon, already showed wear when they were just a dozen yards away from Huo Wuhai, startling him so much that he hurriedly recalled them. At the same time, Dharma King Hagenib also felt his Formless Divine Demon at risk of being refined and quickly summoned it back, the two exchanging shocked glances.

Hagenib grunted angrily and then released another spell, the Formless Divine Demons, which had no shape or form and could directly attack the mind and Primordial Spirit, unafraid of fire or thunder.

Brooyinca, on the other hand, directed his Asura Blades towards the people on the Rainbow Bridge. Arrogantly, his eighty-one blades enveloped everyone on the bridge, including Golden Spider and Long Meng.

Lin Han, Shi Sheng, and Xiong Man shouted angrily, unleashing their respective Flying Swords.

The Vermilion transformed from the Southern Nanming Leaving Fire Sword was the most conspicuous, charging ahead into the blade net.

Next was Shi Sheng's Taibai Split Light Sword, with its white light piercing forward like a Bai Hong, followed by a shower of dense silver stars, extremely beautiful.

Last was Xiong Man, who released a Primordial Golden Sword found by Shi Feiyang on the Golden Ship, along with a Vajra Pestle and Vajra Wheel.

All these Flying Sword Magical Treasures were exquisite, and Brooyinca's Asura Blades, despite their might, could not withstand them, especially the Nanming Leaving Fire Sword, which was even more powerful than the True Sun Fire in the sky. Upon contact, the blades of the Asura Blades were damaged, and after a few collisions, the blade light dimmed.

Frustrated, he thought, 'If I can't even defeat these juniors, how will I ever have the face to walk the earth or preach and teach in the future?'

With a loud shout, he summoned another treasure, the Rashamon Yin Wind Net.

This treasure, obtained from Jiu Panpo, the Red Body Sect Leader, through a trade, was taken up as a lesson from another's experience to become his wisdom. After studying it, he refined it with methods from the Western Demon Cult.

Once spread out, it immediately whipped up a ferocious wind spanning dozens of miles with black mist carrying a mass of red and green flames within the wind. Within those flames lurked numerous evil spirits and ghostly silhouettes.

Hiding his body within the wind and black mist, he too transformed into a silhouette, stealthily moving forward in an almost invisible fashion. Suddenly, he released five Flying Swords along with the Asura Blades, launching a ferocious assault.

Lin Han said to Xiong Man, "Senior sister, our master has commanded Shang Sheng and me to guard the Rainbow Bridge. So far, we're more than capable. Fire Brother Huo Wuhai is currently under siege by demons above. You should go help him!"

Xiong Man, also concerned that Huo Wuhai might not be able to withstand the attack, replied, "Then I'll leave this place to you two!"

With a spring in her step, she merged with her sword, transforming into a beam of golden light that shot upward into the Fire Clouds. She arrived just in time to find Huo Wuhai being attacked by five skulls and nine Dragon Balls. Quickly, she launched the Dragon Sparrow Ring to assist in fighting off the skulls, shouting, "Brother Huo, I'm here to help you!"

Below, Lin Han summoned the Xuan Guang Ruler, transforming it into a sky full of Five-Colored Light Rings, rising swiftly into the air like soap bubbles under the sunlight.
