Shi Feiyang dispatched four Divine Demons that transformed into Demon Light and sunk to the bottom of the spring, penetrating three thousand zhang underground to locate the Broken Jade Hook.
The Broken Jade Hook, having long developed sentience, retaliated fiercely with its Hook Light. Varnagyin II and Kayaan Shabu were first severed at the waist. The two demons howled in pain as their bodies slowly reattached. Wei Fengniang's head and Zhong Ang's legs were then sliced off.
The four demons each utilized their Divine Skills, encircling the area Shi Feiyang had previously calculated.
Forced into a corner, the Broken Jade Hook attempted to break through the Earth's crust and enter the fiery core below. The four demons were inclined to slack, but Shi Feiyang, attuned to their thoughts from above and fully aware of their situation, used the Heavenly Secret Demon Technique from a distance to compel them to push forward vigorously.
The struggle continued into the next day when the Broken Jade Hooks gradually began ascending, leaving the spring. From above, Shi Feiyang released Magnetic True Qi downwards, drawing it up and hastening its ascent to the surface.
This Broken Jade Hook was a division of water treasure refined by the ancient Water God, Gonggong. Instinctively, it drew in the surrounding water vapor, the pull growing stronger as it neared the surface and even more forceful as it absorbed the spring below it.
Shi Feiyang commanded the four Divine Demons below to push forcefully, while he used the Formation Plate to emit Magnetic True Qi upwards to lift it. Initially rising quickly, the ascent progressively slowed until, in the end, it was inching up the last dozen zhang.
At the same time, all water bodies within the surrounding mountains were attracted, causing springs, streams, and pools to spontaneously ripple and stir.
Great treasures often come with trials.
Coincidentally, several dozen li away from the Purple Gold Waterfall, beyond two mountain peaks, a man and woman embraced on a riverbank, rewarding each other. The woman, a bald nun with strong mana, sensed the anomaly, promptly stood up, and with focused concentration, smiled at the sensation: "A treasure is about to emerge!"
The man, not yet fully satisfied, asked curiously, "What treasure? Where is it?"
The nun hurried to dress, "It's certainly a rare treasure! Over there!"
She reached out, summoning her belongings telekinetically and took a step forward. With a balletic rise from her floating waistband, her body flicked away like a wisp of breeze, vanishing into thin air.
The man frowned, knowing she was guarding against him sharing the treasure, and felt disgruntled.
He donned his clothes and was about to cast a spell to ascend when he noticed a blue-robed girl in the forest clearing at the valley's end, who was looking his way. Upon his gaze, she spit in disdain and turned to disappear into the woods.
The man, struck with lust, thought the girl was appealing and had exhibited a coquettish demeanor, likely smitten with him due to his handsome, debonair appearance and recent display of prowess. He believed she was luring him into the forest with her clever schemes.
Immediately casting a spell, he chased after her into the woods.
Meanwhile, the woman was the disciple of Red Body Sect's Jiu Panpo, the Peach Blossom Fairy, Li Yuyu.
Following an indiscretion with a sea demon in the North Sea, she was ashamed and angry. Red Body Sect's rules required virgins for cultivation; having lost her True Yin, she could no longer practice the sect's highest magic. Jiu Panpo gave her two options:
First, undergo Soldier Disintegration and reincarnate, pursuing the path with renewed virginity. With diligent cultivation and focused effort, there was still hope to practice the Nine Heavens Secret Demon Mysterious Scripture.
Alternatively, continue cultivating with the hope of retroactively restoring her Innate nature, albeit with limited future potential, and the Nine Heavens Demon Scripture would remain unattainable.
Li Yuyu, unwilling to undergo death and rebirth, chose to carry on. Her cultivation progress was slow, and she often longed for the sea demon, nearly deviating and falling under its demonic influence multiple times, coming close to exhausting her True Yin and dying.
Jiu Panpo warned her twice; her inability to settle her mind led to disappointment and the consideration of expulsion. However, the respect for her father, Elder Jin Feng, stayed her hand, and she was temporarily sent home to clear her mind.
Elder Jin Feng and Daoist Sanhua both guided her, knowing the sea demon was a bane they longed to eliminate. Unfortunately, sheltered by the Xiankong Ancestor on Wuding Island, they were helpless to act.
After Daoist Sanhua died at Shi Feiyang's hand and Elder Jin Feng underwent the pain of losing his son, he became more radical and eventually fell into madness. Over time, he succumbed to Deviation, paralyzed and frequently lost in a demon-induced delirium, spouting nonsense and displaying erratic moods.
Li Yuyu was terrified and felt that continuing this way would only lead to her destruction. Thus, she fled to Central Earth seeking to study the Demon Refining Technique within the Buddhist tradition.
All the prominent temples recognized that her lascivious nature was incorrigible, at least in this lifetime. Taking her as a disciple would only lead to trouble as she would soon grow restless and scale the walls to leave, causing endless karma. Therefore, they all tactfully declined.
Li Yuyu found herself with no other option, so in her anger, she established her own nunnery, shaved her head, donned the monastic robe, and proclaimed herself the abbess, practicing her cultivation within.
Thus, she spent her days in front of the Buddha, tapping the wooden fish and reciting scriptures, always accompanied by a green lamp. Over the years, although her understanding of Buddhist teachings bore no fruit, the Demon Path Great Techniques, which she had always failed to master, were inadvertently perfected!
After achieving great success with her magic, she began to see herself as uniquely gifted and possessing boundless mana, and pride began to swell within her.
With the dense population of the Central Plains, she quickly befriended many fellow practitioners, and soon held grand, unobstructed gatherings in her nunnery, indulging in debauchery day after day.
Today, she had newly entangled herself with Pu He, the son of the Golden Thread Granny Pu Miaomiao from Chongming Island in Jiangsu. The two of them chose a picturesque and tranquil spot in Yellow Mountain as their mutual reward. Just as the Broken Jade Hook was about to manifest, Li Yuyu, having already cultivated her Primordial Spirit into a Divine Demon, sensed the change and immediately left Pu He to fly to the Purple Gold Waterfall.
Invisibility cloaked her approach. When she saw Shi Feiyang casting a spell to retrieve the treasure, with Jiang Shu acting as his protector, she marveled at the two youthful Sword Immortals' charming appearance, well-concealed essence energy, and their high proficiency in Daoist techniques. They also possessed innate Yuan Yang, which instantly sent her heart racing with joy. If she could captivate them and refine them into Divine Demons to keep by her side, not only could she unleash them to kill enemies when confronted, but she could also summon them at any time to serve her. The beauty of such times was simply unimaginable!
In comparison to either of these two, the likes of Pu He were nothing more than pigs or dogs!
Li Yuyu observed that they both emanated an aura of righteousness, seemingly difficult to provoke, but she relied on her magic and stealth to approach from behind towards Jiang Shu.
Shi Feiyang had already sensed her presence. It wasn't just him; several other Divine Senses were also monitoring the area, one of which was emanating from the mountain peak. He surmised it was the Can Xia Master, who was cultivating at Wenbi Peak of Yellow Mountain on behalf of the Emei Sect. This individual was not only a disciple of Master Changmei but also a student of Elder You Tan, proficient in both Buddhist and Daoist dual cultivation, thus being extremely formidable, on par with the likes of other grandmasters.
Others, such as Qi Shuming, Xun Lanyin, and Zhu Mei, would become even more formidable after their reincarnation, but Can Xia Master, not needing reincarnation, was already very powerful.
However, even Shi Feiyang held some trepidation, yet he also sensed the approach of a young nun with disheveled clothes. He chose not to alert Jiang Shu, as he was not fond of coddling others, including his own disciples. He believed in letting them fend for themselves and learning through their struggles. He continued his attempt to claim the treasure.
Jiang Shu, lacking experience in acquiring treasures, was naively fixated on the emergent Treasure Hook. Suddenly feeling something approaching from behind, his every hair stood on end. He hastily turned around and vaguely sensed an invisible person ahead. He urgently pointed his finger, releasing a streak of cyan sword light between them, and shouted, "Who's there?"
Li Yuyu, realizing she had been spotted, decided to reveal herself, exhaling a warm, sweet fragrance that rushed towards him. Then, with delicate fingers pointing like blossoms, she performed several enticing gestures.
The moment Jiang Shu caught a hint of the fragrance, his head buzzed, blood rushing to his head and heat surging throughout his body. He knew these were seductive techniques from the Demon Path and shouted in anger, "You vile woman, courting death!"
He lifted his sword technique, sending the cyan sword light slashing outwards.
Li Yuyu saw the formidable sword light and drifted backward like a willow seed in the wind, continuing to strike beguiling poses in the air. From her rosy lips came a sultry call: "Big brother, come... your little sister misses you..."
Her voice left men feeling tingling and weak, as if it echoed from distant valleys, pulling at their hearts and compelling them to follow her.
"Big brother, come... your little sister longs for your affection..."
Li Yuyu, while speaking, drifted back into the woods. Her figure flashed and then vanished, her demonic voice continuing to beckon.
Jiang Shu, irritated by her calls, became enraged: "Demon witch, I shall kill you today!"
He leaped into the forest, as Li Yuyu's voice emanated from all directions, seemingly thousands of witches calling out at once. Some cried "dear brother," others "my man," some "my poor soul," some "my little adversary," and some "my dear daddy," their voices ethereal and uncertain in distance.
Jiang Shu knew she was using the Soul-hooking Great Technique, which would dominate his Primordial Spirit if he let his guard down even slightly, possibly even drawing it out of his body.
Descended from the Mysterious Sect and with a concentrated Primordial Spirit and reined essence energy, he was unmoved by her lures. Having faced similar situations in the past, the witch's magic was ineffective against him, which gave him the confidence to pursue her with his sword.
Yet unbeknownst to him, Li Yuyu was from the Red Body Sect, a direct disciple of Jiu Panpo, and had also learned various Evil Techniques from her relatives. Unable to master them before, she had now surpassed those thresholds after years of devout purification in the presence of the Buddha, drastically increasing her mana, making her methods a hundredfold more sophisticated than those he had encountered previously!
Li Yuyu's voice seemed to come from above, a multitude beckoning simultaneously, but her real lethal move was from below.
Upon entering, she shed her outer robe, lay on the ground, and melded her body with the earth, deploying the Nine Heavens Secret Demon Great Technique. She had refined her Primordial Spirit into her Lifebound Divine Demon, and revealing her witch's true form, she lay on the ground with bent legs and outstretched arms, merging with the ground. Within this Demon Formation, the grass and trees became the hairs of her body, and the earth's soil turned into her flesh and bones.
