Jin Xunu was a merfolk who became enlightened, born in the Nanming Reef of the South Sea. He cultivated for over five hundred years, absorbing the essence of Nanming Leaving Fire thanks to his former master's guidance. He had traveled to Purple Cloud Palace to find the True Water, and by reconciling the forces of "Kan" and "Li", he attained a balance of water and fire, thus transforming and rebirthing his body from a grotesquely deformed demon into the beautiful young man with an immortal root that he was now.
Through this experience, he had acquired Fire Eyes, which could identify treasures, and his eyesight became exceptional.
Later, under the guidance of Shi Feiyang, with teachings in the Mysterious Sect's True Skill, he further developed his eyesight. Using the alchemy method "Coupled Phases of Liquid", he channeled Lung Gold True Liquid along the foot Jueyin Liver Meridian, harmonizing metal and wood and absorbing the Golden Essence Air from the West to refine his eyes into Eyes of Golden Flame, capable of seeing through various stealth and illusion techniques.
He was holding the treasure mirror that the Cold Centipede had previously acquired—the Heavenly Talisman Treasure Mirror, capable of reflecting images from afar and seeing through others' invisibility.
After figuring out that Elder Kuzhu was behind the enemy's setup, Shi Feiyang tried to predict what methods he would use.
Having read the original texts, Shi Feiyang knew that Elder Kuzhu possessed the Six Yang Green Spirit Demon Extinguishing Armor and liked sending his juniors to stealthily trespass into enemies' homes to create chaos. Distracting the enemy in this way, they eventually fell for the Mysterious Sect's Righteous Path.
Thus, he had Jin Xunu keep the Heavenly Talisman Treasure Mirror with him, specifically to guard against any invisible foes that might infiltrate.
Ruan Zheng used the invisibility technique that came with the Six Yang Green Spirit Demon Extinguishing Armor and added the effects of the Green Spirit Bamboo Talisman for a double layer of invisibility.
Similarly, Jin Xunu used the Eyes of Golden Flame alongside the Heavenly Talisman Treasure Mirror to see through stealth, also layering the techniques.
Eventually, as the secondary path was somewhat inferior to the Righteous Path, Ruan Zheng was clearly seen by Jin Xunu as soon as he reached Qianling Mountain.
Jin Xunu sat motionless until he saw through the mirror that Ruan Zheng, acting suspiciously, had reached behind him, began casting spells with concentration and purified energy.
Reacting furiously, Jin Xunu spun around, his hand first launching a Treasure— the Anxiety Circle.
Back then, the people of Purple Cloud Palace had followed the two elders of Song Mountain to Moon Island's Lianshan Treasure Vault for treasures; some got treasures, some immortal pills, and others Daoist books, each limited to one item.
Later, because Jin Xunu had obtained the Taiyin Qingning Fan, a key to entering the Dao and rebirthing his physical body, he went again to Lianshan Treasure Vault under the elders' agreement, nearly cleaning out its contents.
In total, he brought back around a dozen magical treasures to Purple Cloud Palace and distributed one to each person such as Chu Feng, keeping the rest for himself.
The great master of Lianshan, in employing the techniques of the Mysterious Sect to engage in secondary and sinister methods, aimed to carve out a grand Heavenly Immortal path for those of the secondary paths, but he ultimately failed and died for his cause.
Among his many treasures, only the four suppressor treasures were refined with the Mysterious Sect's Righteous Methods; the rest, including the Anxiety Circle, were made using alternative methods and could bind a person's soul and lock their Primordial Spirit, creating illusions. Even if the enemy dodged them in time, once touched, they left a curse, causing endless trouble afterward.
The secondary path treasures were generally extremely fierce and venomous, and it was evident they were very susceptible to their contrasting properties, often getting damaged upon meeting their nemesis.
Shi Feiyang had guided Jin Xunu more than once to re-consecrate all the secondary path treasures on his body, where not least amongst them was the Immortal Technique passed down by Guang Chengzi from Ancient Times. The Anxiety Circle, having been reconsecrated, now functioned entirely differently than before; when thrown, it turned into a terrifying ring of white light about ten feet in diameter and tightened directly around Ruan Zheng's head.
Ruan Zheng, believing he was unseen and focusing on casting his spells, was suddenly dazzled by a flash of white light as a glowing circle trapped him, swiftly tightening around his forehead.
It was too late for him to shake his head to dodge, but fortunately, he wore the Six Yang Green Spirit Demon Extinguishing Armor, which, when triggered, burst forth in green light, forcefully expanding and stretching the Anxiety Circle open.
At this moment, Jin Xunu simultaneously attacked with the Boluodao, Sun-locking Hook, and other weapons, while Ruan Zheng raised his Flying Sword and released Tianxuan Star Sand, spraying forth a dazzling burst of fireworks-like five-colored light.
Seeing the five-colored starlight, Jin Xunu waved the Taiyin Qingning Fan at it, sending out myriad red rays of light that mixed with the Five-Colored Star Sand. The exploding light and raging hurricane winds intertwined and collided with the Star Sand, firing off noisy, chaotic bursts, with stars falling like rain.
Ruan Zheng was shocked, feeling as though he was driving a carriage amidst a storm or a kite soaring through windy skies, barely able to maintain control, urgently shaping a divine Immortal Technique with his left hand and repeatedly sending forth Essence Energy.
Besides the Five-Colored Star Sand used in the Tianxuan Divine Sand, a portion of the original Mother Sand created during its consecration by Xun Lanyin had been kept by her. The rest was transformed into a Two-Phase Ring, thus connected as mother and child. After years of his consecration, Ruan Zheng had always used it with ease, and even those with higher Dao Levels than him could not retain it when using the treasure.
Jin Xunu also exerted full Mana, repeatedly waving the treasure fan while simultaneously driving the Anxiety Circle to spin rapidly around Ruan Zheng. The Sun-locking Hook, along with other weapons, converted into several feet of cutting light, continuously slicing inward toward Ruan Zheng. If it were just for Ruan Zheng's own Flying Sword and Mana, he would have been cut into countless pieces already!
Indeed, the Six Yang Green Spirit Demon Extinguishing Armor he wore was a valuable treasure. The emanated green light protected him from head to toe. The inward shining white light of the Anxiety Circle, whether illuminating his face or sensed as a chilling curse through the pores, was about to afflict him severely.
No matter how the white light transformed, it always flowed within the green light, reflecting each other without getting through even a hair.
Boluo Dao and the other two weapons were also blocked by the green light, unable to penetrate deep regardless of how they were slashed.
Ruan Zheng also used the green spirit bamboo charm given by Elder Kuzhu, holding it in his palm, reinforcing himself, and a large amount of immortal energy surged into the Two-Phase Ring, stabilizing the star sand that was about to go out of control due to the fierce winds.
Jin Xunu then sent out two Liangyi Needles and other three magical treasures, all of which were blocked by the green light emanating from the Demon Extinguishing Armor, leaving Ruan Zheng unharmed!
Seeing Ruan Zheng stabilizing his stance and even about to counterattack, Jin Xunu became impatient, eager for a victory. Miaomiao approached from the side, holding the Circulation Hunyuan Umbrella that opened and started spinning towards Ruan Zheng.
On the umbrella were three hundred and sixty Circulation God Talismans, emitting a ring of golden talisman light which struck the green light from the Demon Extinguishing Armor and immediately imprinted into it, the golden talisman light penetrating deep into the green light, blending with it. Miaomiao urged the umbrella to spin, spinning the green light along with it.
At that moment, Miaomiao resembled someone wielding an oversized blender, with three hundred and sixty claws, rapidly stirring in a thick, green liquid.
Originally, the Demon Extinguishing Armor emitted a stream of green light that completely enveloped Ruan Zheng. It quickly turned into a blob as she stirred with the umbrella, and with a tug, like scooping honey, nearly a third of the green light was pulled away, the remaining light immediately resumed its original state but had become slightly thinner.
If Elder Kuzhu were here wearing this treasure robe, he could easily have restored the green light. Unfortunately, Ruan Zheng didn't have Elder Kuzhu's profound mana, and since he hadn't had the robe for long, he could not fully utilize its wondrous functions, and the green light couldn't replenish instantly.
Miaomiao raised the umbrella again to spin towards him; on the other side, Jin Xunu, gritting his teeth, continued to swing his fan. Caught between both sides and suddenly captured by the Circulation Umbrella, his body uncontrollably spun thousands of times!
Although Ruan Zheng's mana was not as great as Deng Bagu's, he had cultivated the Nine Heavens Mysterious Scripture for several lifetimes, his stability far surpassing Deng Bagu's. He promptly summoned back the Tianxuan Divine Sand to protect his body and resist the Circulation Umbrella, along with the effect of the green spirit bamboo charm, he finally stabilized himself.
Thus, he could no longer withstand the attacks from Jin Xunu, getting furiously fanned several times. A red hurricane smashed into his face, and he could no longer stay in place. Like a leaf, he was blown out through the rear window, during which, the Boluodao chopped at his ribs, and the Sun-locking Hook slashed his feet, tumbling him hundreds of miles away!
With Miaomiao's help, Jin Xunu gained victory but dared not venture out to seek Ruan Zheng, taking advantage of the victory. Instead, he sat cross-legged beside Shi Feiyang, his task being to protect Shi Feiyang firmly, everything aimed at delaying time until the hour of Yin when Shi Feiyang would wake up, which was the most crucial for the moment!
At the entrance of Tianxin Palace, the Mo brothers firmly guarded the entire platform, disciples from the Eternal City and Golden Bell Island lost many flying sword magical treasures, unable to cross the protected area by even a step.
Deng Bagu and Qian Kang dueled fiercely, their fight intensifying and ascending higher, now above the clouds. On the other side, Yuan Hua and Qian Kang's wife also fought fiercely.
Both sides exerted their full strength, Xiong Man could not match Shen Tuhong, luckily she had the Michen Banner, a treasure crafted by Lady Bao Xiang, using ancient secret techniques from the Upper Realm, perfect for protection. When overwhelmed, it could emit a ray of light, enveloping her, and bursting towards the sky with the pace of thunder, extremely rapid.
Xiong Man struggled to evade Shen Tuhong's several attempts to sever her arms or even shatter her body using this treasure.
She knew she couldn't beat Shen Tuhong, but still fought desperately against him, willing to risk her life today in order to delay until her master woke up!
Shi Sheng and Zhuge Jingwo fought evenly, while Lin Han was trapped by Ye Bin in the Ice Soul Divine Light, surrounded by colorful lights, unable to discern directions.
He did his best but couldn't rush out, sitting cross-legged, controlling the Nanming Leaving Fire Sword in the right hand and holding the Xuan Guang Ruler in the left, desperately defending.
He knew he needed to delay Ye Bin, thus resorted to shouting insults at her.
Lin Han was a good boy, his grandfather Lin Jia was both an official and a Sword Immortal, with excellent personal cultivation and family tradition. Lin Han had never insulted anyone from childhood and would even scold Shi Sheng for occasional swearwords, admonishing him to amend his ways as the senior brother, believing that not swearing reflected self-respect.
But now he could no longer hold back. They were so tightly matched, he couldn't stall Ye Bin who might run to help their enemies, endangering his fellow disciples, including his master.
He knew only Red Snake in the entire sect had a sharp tongued reputation, naturally venomous and bitterly sarcastic, particularly aimed at hurtful spots.
He had previously disdained this behavior but now he had to recall those inflammatory scenes, ponder those despised words, and then muster the courage to yell:
"Ye Bin! You shameless wretch! A centuries-old despicable wretch, intent on harming my master for no reason! A progeny worse than your ill-virtued ancestors, your family tombs would surely be demolished one day! Even if no one digs them up, they'd still explode!"
With the power of his flying sword magical treasures, Ye Bin couldn't easily kill him and wanted to trap him there first to assist others in defeating their opponents. She planned to return later to deal with him, but could not believe that this youngster would suddenly start cursing the street, and so foully!
After hearing his words, Ye Bin felt as if her lungs were ablaze, smoke filling her every orifice!
