We made it through the first book of the Jaded series! I hope you've all (mostly) enjoyed reading about Jin's journey so far!

Much like Wayward, it's time to see all the DATA and to satisfy my curiosity about which characters you dear readers are enjoying the most. I'm only including "major recurring characters" instead of the whole massive list. You can pick your Top Three! I'd love to hear about why you picked who you did in the comments below ❤️

Jin

Natural Talent: Poker Face

Your abilities, Talents, and emotions cannot be analyzed through external magical, aural, or divine means. You can view information about yourself and magical items touched by your aura. You have increased control over your body language.

Natural Talent: Aetheric Transmigrator

Increased resistance to negative Dimension effects. Dimension abilities have an increased effect. You are a Natural Translator, allowing the understanding of languages you are exposed to. You can directly use Aspects and Spirit Gems without the need for an Absorption Ritual.

Natural Talent: Treasure Hoard

Cultivated from [Rainy Day] due to unlocking the Abyssal Dragoon Class.

You can loot slain enemies with a touch. When looting an enemy above your current Caste, you will be given a selection of additional loot options to choose one from. You can trigger the looting of slain enemies with your aura instead to save the remnant magical essence to be converted into loot at a later time; doing so will slowly increase the quality of the generated loot. You have a personal, dimensional hoard storage space. Loot automatically goes into your hoard.

Natural Talent: Solo Player

Bonus to all Attributes when you're the only enemy within melee range of a target. Damage is increased if you are the only person to have attacked a target. The effects of meditation are increased when no other people are nearby.

Natural Talent: Nihilist

Greatly increased resistance to Divine effects. Equipped magic items and Construct abilities have increased effect.

Passive Ability: Silent Spear

Type: Utility (construct)

Crystal Effect: Construct a spear that greatly increases your Strength Attribute and produces no sound.

Ability: Piercing Thrust

Type: Special Attack (magical, blood)

Cost: Moderate stamina.

Cooldown: None.

Crystal Effect: Deliver a powerful piercing attack that inflicts an instance of [Bleeding].

Bleeding (bane, magical, blood): Inflicts ongoing Blood damage.

Passive Ability: Nimble

Type: Boon

Crystal Effect: Greatly increased Agility and Mind.

Ability: Leap

Type: Utility (combination, movement)

Cost: Low stamina.

Cooldown: None.

Crystal Effect: Leap high into the air, increasing the damage of your next attack.

Passive Ability: Draconic Dominion

Type: Aura (magical, covenant)

Crystal Effect: Continually decreases the innate resistances of all enemies within the aura. The effect gradually resets once they have left the aura's influence.

Ability: Dragon Companion

Type: Familiar (ritual, summon, magical, covenant)

Cost: Severe mana and stamina.

Cooldown: 1 hour.

Crystal Effect: Summon a Dragon 🐉 as a Familiar.

Passive Ability: Draconic Ancestry

Type: Boon (magical, covenant)

Crystal Effect: Your abilities cultivate faster than average. This stacks with other cultivation-boosting effects.

Ability: Vorpal Charge

Type: Special Attack (combination, divine, void)

Cost: Moderate mana.

Cooldown: 1 minute.

Crystal Effect: Charge an enemy with greatly increased Agility and Strength and inflicting additional Void damage with the next attack.

Karam

Natural Talent: Scent Infusion

Cultivated from [Unknown Potential] due to unlocking the Perfume Aspect.

You can imbue items or creatures with a temporary fragrance of your choosing for a low mana cost. If the target is a willing ally, the scent can be made permanent for a severe mana cost.

Natural Talent: Gentle Soul

Cultivated from [Unknown Potential] due to unlocking the Rejuvenation Aspect.

Increased chance of unlocking regenerative abilities. Abilities that affect allies have increased effects.

Natural Talent: Dawn Attunement

Cultivated from [Unknown Potential] due to unlocking the Life and Light Aspect.

Increased resistance to negative Life and Light effects. Life and Light abilities have an increased effect.

Natural Talent: Candlelit Vigil

Cultivated from [Classy] due to unlocking the Luminous Aromancer Class.

Instead of sleeping, you become rested from meditating. While meditating, you are more aware of your surroundings than normal. While in candlelight, your Life and Light abilities have increased effects.

Passive Ability: Aromatic

Type: Perception

Crystal Effect: You have a pleasing scent and can easily detect and identify the source of other scents.

Ability: Refreshing Mist

Type: Spell (magical, life)

Cost: Moderate mana.

Cooldown: 1 minute.

Crystal Effect: Conjure a pleasant mist in a wide area centered on you that increases the regeneration of health and stamina.

Passive Ability: Healing Aura

Type: Aura (magical, life)

Crystal Effect: Allies within the aura have their health regeneration increased.

Ability: Regenerative Cocoon

Type: Utility (channel, magical, life)

Cost: Variable mana.

Cooldown: None.

Crystal Effect: Construct a cocoon of life magic around a target body part to focus quick healing over the covered area. The cost is determined by the size of the area and the damage needing healed.

Passive Ability: Lifesense

Type: Perception (magical, life)

Crystal Effect: You can sense the status effects and remaining health pools of nearby allies.

Ability: Breath of Life

Type: Spell (elemental, magical, life, wind)

Cost: High mana.

Cooldown: 1 hour.

Crystal Effect: Breathe upon a target to restore an extreme amount of health, mana, and stamina.

Passive Ability: Lantern of Hope

Type: Utility (construct, magical, light)

Crystal Effect: Construct a floating lantern that grants nearby allies increased regeneration and maximum pool of health and mana.

Ability: Light Among Darkness

Type: Boon (magical, light)

Cost: Moderate mana.

Cooldown: None.

Crystal Effect: Grant an ally night vision and increased resistance to negative Light and Dark effects for a long duration.

Passive Ability: Meditation Candle

Type: Utility (construct, magical, life, light)

Crystal Effect: Construct a candle that provides light and healing to nearby allies. The effects of meditation are increased while within the light.

Ability: Incense of Inspiration

Type: Spell (zone, magical, life, light)

Cost: High mana.

Crystal Effect: Create a zone delineated by fragrant candles. Allies within the zone have increased Mind and Magic and reduced cooldown of abilities cast within it.

Hadia

Natural Talent: Blunt Force Trauma

Cultivated from [Unknown Potential] due to unlocking the Mace Aspect.

When dealing or receiving physical bludgeoning damage, the triggering enemy also gains an instance of [Bruised Ego]. Bruised Ego (bane, magical, death, stacking): Decreased resistance to physical damage, and stamina regeneration is slower.

Natural Talent: Earth Attunement

Cultivated from [Unknown Potential] due to unlocking the Earth Aspect.

Increased resistance to negative Earth effects. Earth abilities have an increased effect.

Natural Talent: Anti-Armor

Cultivated from [Classy] due to unlocking the Armor Breaker Class.

Greatly increased Fortitude when not wearing armor. Your aura increases the Fortitude of allies within it, the bonus decreasing with the amount of armor they wear.

Passive Ability: Mace of Might

Type: Utility (construct)

Crystal Effect: Construct a mace weapon that inflicts additional physical damage against shields and armor.

Ability: Bone Breaker

Type: Special Attack

Cost: Moderate stamina.

Crystal Effect: Deliver a powerful melee blow that has an increased chance to break a target's supporting structure.

Passive Ability: Unchained

Type: Boon (magical, covenant)

Crystal Effect: Greatly increased resistance to silence and taunt effects.

Ability: Resonating Strike

Type: Special Attack (magical, song)

Crystal Effect: Deal increased physical damage and inflict 2-5 additional waves of moderate Song damage.

Passive Ability: From the Earth

Type: Perception (elemental, earth)

Crystal Effect: Can sense the material makeup of objects within your aura.

Ability: Stoneborn

Type: Spell (summon, elemental, earth)

Cost: High mana.

Cooldown: 1 hour.

Crystal Effect: Summon a [Terram] 🐏 to assist you.

Passive Ability: Encumber

Type: Aura (magical, covenant)

Crystal Effect: Enemies within the aura have decreased physical resistances and armor weighs more.

Ability: Entomb

Type: Execute (elemental, earth)

Cost: High mana.

Cooldown: 1 minute.

Crystal Effect: Enchants a weapon so that its next attack deals additional Earth and physical damage on impact. Damage is scaled based on the amount of armor worn and health missing from the target.

Basima

Natural Talent: Covenant Attunement

Cultivated from [Unknown Potential] due to unlocking the Balance Aspect.

Increased resistance to negative Covenant effects. Covenant abilities have an increased effect.

Passive Ability: Target Seeker

Type: Perception

Crystal Effect: You have greatly improved eyesight and can quickly locate your target.

Ability: Arcane Arrow

Crystal Effect: Cast a projectile arrow at a target inflicting a moderate amount of Arcane damage.

Passive Ability: Pathfinder

Type: Utility (magical, covenant)

Crystal Effect: Your palm guides the way to your desired target.

Ability: Death From Afar

Type: Boon (channel, magical, arcane)

Cost: Variable mana.

Cooldown: 1 minute.

Crystal Effect: Increase the damage of your next ranged attack based on how much mana you channel into this effect.

Passive Ability: Surefooted

Type: Boon (movement)

Crystal Effect: You have exceptional balance and spacial awareness. When walking on difficult terrain you gain a slight increase to your Agility.

Ability: Scales of Fate

Type: Spell (magical, arcane, covenant)

Cost: Variable mana.

Cooldown: Variable.

Crystal Effect: Gamble your mana to gain a random effect. The more mana, the greater the cooldown and more powerful the effect.

Alim

Natural Talent: Mind of the Magister

Cultivated from [Unknown Potential] due to unlocking the Wand Aspect.

Greatly increased Mind Attribute. You can use material components for spells, rituals, or enchantments directly from an equipped storage container. You can draw magic diagrams with conjured light, including ones that float in the air.

Natural Talent: Covenant Attunement

Cultivated from [Unknown Potential] due to unlocking the Shield Aspect.

Increased resistance to negative Covenant effects. Covenant abilities have an increased effect.

Natural Talent: Oath Attunement

Cultivated from [Unknown Potential] due to unlocking the Shield Aspect.

You have greatly increased pain tolerance. Your bones have been inscribed with protective runes, making them harder to break. Blunt damage dealt to you grants an instance of [Resilience]. Resilience (boon, magical, arcane, stacking): Slightly increases resistance to physical bludgeoning damage.

Crystal Effect: Construct a wand that can be used as a medium for Spell abilities, slightly increasing their effects.

Ability: Mana Barrier

Crystal Effect: Conjure a barrier around a target that absorbs a moderate amount of damage before dissipating.

Passive Ability: Shield the Masses

Type: Aura (magical, covenant)

Crystal Effect: Allies within the aura have increased Fortitude and resistance to physical damage.

Ability: Last Bastion

Type: Spell (zone, magical, covenant)

Cost: Severe mana.

Cooldown: 1 hour.

Crystal Effect: Delineate a zone with mana runes creating a dome shield for a long duration. Projectile attacks are deflected and allies within the zone gain [Last Stand].

Last Stand (boon, magical, covenant): Increased resistance to physical damage scaling higher with the amount of health missing.

Passive Ability: Arcane Insight

Type: Perception (magical, arcane)

Crystal Effect: You can visually perceive the flow of magic.

Ability: Mana Sear

Type: Spell (channel, magical, arcane)

Cost: Low mana per second.

Cooldown: None.

Crystal Effect: Channel a beam of magic at a target to inflict a large amount of pain to their mana channels, slowly reducing their maximum mana.

Passive Ability: Runed Protector

Type: Transfiguration (magical, arcane)

Crystal Effect: You gain runes of protection upon your skin, increasing your base Fortitude and Magic. Spells that deal damage against you restore a portion of your mana.

Ability: Aegis of the Magister

Type: Utility (construct, magical, arcane)

Cost: Moderate mana.

Cooldown: None.

Crystal Effect: Conjure an arcane shield and armor, increasing your physical and Magical resistances.

Daren

Passive Ability: Hero's Cape

Type: Utility (construct, magical, covenant)

Crystal Effect: Construct a cloak that increases the effects of Movement abilities. Once per day the cloak can be transformed into a solid shield for a short duration.

Ability: Rush to the Moment

Type: Utility (magical, covenant)

Cost: Moderate stamina.

Cooldown: 1 minute.

Crystal Effect: Greatly increase your speed to rush to a target ally's side, and both of you gain an instance of [Dare to Believe].

Dare to Believe (boon, magical, covenant): Greatly increase all Attributes for a short duration.

Celia

Passive Ability: Axes to Grind

Type: Utility (construct, magical, blood)

Crystal Effect: Construct a pair of one-handed ax weapons that inflict additional physical damage against flesh and have a chance to inflict [Bleeding].

Bleeding (bane, magical, blood): Inflicts low ongoing Blood damage.

Ability: Twin Strike

Type: Special Attack (magical, blood)

Cost: Moderate stamina.

Cooldown: 30 seconds.

Crystal Effect: Deliver a quick melee strike with both weapons that deals additional Blood damage and inflicts an instance of [Diminished Life].

Diminished Life (bane, magical, blood, stacking): Maximum health is reduced by a small amount for a moderate duration.

Pax

Natural Talent: Chameleon's Shroud

Cultivated from [Unknown Potential] due to Chameleon's Blessing.

You can shift the coloration of your body and equipment to match your surroundings. You can shift your voice to sound like another you've heard before. Your aura naturally blends into your surroundings making it difficult to detect.

Ability: Needle Spray

Type: Special Attack (magical, blood)

Cost: Moderate mana.

Cooldown: 1 minute.

Crystal Effect: Conjure a spray of needles from your palm that shoot out in a forward cone, inflicting low physical damage and an instance of [Punctured].

Punctured (bane, magical, blood, stacking): Inflicts low ongoing Blood damage until the needle is removed.

Liraz

Ability: Slime Drop

Type: Spell (elemental, corrosion, water)

Cost: Severe mana.

Cooldown: 1 hour.

Crystal Effect: Drop a massive slime on the target area, inflicting a large amount of physical bludgeoning damage on impact.

Passive Ability: Coven of the Slime Witch

Type: Aura (magical, covenant)

Crystal Effect: Form a coven of allies. Members of your coven within your aura can be unaffected by your slime and gain a [Slime Companion]. Each coven member increases the effects of your Construct and Covenant abilities.

Slime Companion (construct, elemental, corrosion, water): retaliates against attackers by launching small spurts of sticky slime that reduce enemies Corrosion and Water resistance.

Ability: Just a Box

Type: Familiar (ritual, summon, magical, covenant)

Cost: Severe mana.

Cooldown: 1 hour.

Crystal Effect: Summon a [Terror Mimic] 📦 to serve as a familiar.

Passive Ability: Witch Regalia

Type: Utility (construct, elemental, corrosion, water)

Crystal Effect: Construct a [Slime Witch's Hat] and [Orb of Slime Control].

Slime Witch's Hat (construct, elemental, corrosion, water): Increases your Mind and grows as you expend mana. Your Magic increases with the size of the hat. Orb of Slime Control (construct, elemental, corrosion, water): The wielder may expend low mana per second to telepathically control patches of their slime in a small area at long range. Spells cast using this orb as a medium have increased effect.

Ability: Basima's Slime Curse

Type: Spell (taunt, elemental, magical, covenant, water)

Cost: Moderate mana.

Cooldown: 1 minute.

Crystal Effect: Target slips. Inflicts [Clumsy Slimed] and [Klutz Slimed].

Clumsy Slimed (bane, control, elemental, magical, covenant, water): You randomly slip and stumble for a short duration. Klutz Slimed (bane, control, elemental, magical, covenant, water): Things randomly slip out of your grasp for a short duration.
