Some time ago, Anthony received a Stone Slab with a long history.
After deciphering.
He discovered that this Stone Slab was actually the autobiography of a deceased individual who was active during a special period.
This special period was essentially the feudal period, when global religious beliefs were flourishing.
From that bygone era, many ancient civilizations had passed down numerous strange legends, forming the diverse myths and legends of today's countries.
The owner of the Stone Slab was a person from that period.
The contents also greatly piqued Anthony's interest.
It stated that the owner of the Stone Slab was a Divine Favored of the Blood Moon, naturally wielding the power bestowed by the Blood Moon Mother Goddess...
A god?
The young Anthony was disdainful of this.
If gods truly existed in the world, why didn't the gods of those backward nations protect their people?
Obviously, these were all mere acts of mystification.
However, Anthony did not dismiss this clue.
He does not believe in gods.
But he is very interested in anything recorded about the Blood Moon.
Born into a prominent family, Anthony never lacked for material needs, leading him to constantly seek spiritual fulfillment.
In fact.
He is a fervent enthusiast of history and the occult, deeply passionate about ancient historical records of all countries, and amidst the colonial wave, he was actively present at the forefront of 'cultural relic protection,' violently excavating many ancient tombs from long ago.
He had gathered too much information.
He gradually discovered something very intriguing.
He wondered whether it was by coincidence.
Whether from the Eastern or Western world, there were similar records about certain subjects.
Such as:
"If the moon changes color, disasters will follow.."
"Red means war and soldiers.."
"God sends down ten plagues.."
"Eastern Merfolk, Western Mermaid.."
These records were chaotic, yet all had traces of the Blood Moon.
Anthony, an educated Noble with modern education, understood that the Blood Moon was actually an astronomical phenomenon, and it was just humanity's ignorance in the past, attributing anything not understood directly to mysticism.
In ancient times, there was nature worship.
In modern times, there is religious belief.
Essentially, it is but a means of ruling over the ignorant populace.
Much like the least devout persons in religion often being the leaders of religions.
As a member of the ruling class.
Anthony was well aware of these things.
He disdained them, yet it did not prevent him from researching and exploring them.
He couldn't help it.
He was born into the carnivorous class.
His life had long lost the meaning of striving.
Without pursuing these matters, Anthony felt disconnected from life.
Only through continual adventure and excavation of historical traces could he feel the meaning of life.
Thus, Anthony found the seller of the Stone Slab, spent money to obtain the exact location of that ancient tomb, and with the escort of bodyguards, traversed mountains and rivers to reach this uninhabited and rarely visited area.
Every tomb opening felt like unlocking an unknown treasure chest.
Anthony eagerly anticipated his harvest this time.
..
Under Anthony's command, his men began orderly to explore the surroundings, set up tents, and establish a safety zone..
Everything proceeded smoothly.
Clearly, this group was not undertaking such tomb-raiding activity for the first time.
Of course, they referred to it as cultural relic protection.
Without excavation, how do you protect it?
Right?
For this, Anthony even spent money to specifically hire police from this small European country to patrol the perimeter, ensuring the normal conduct of the relic protection activity.
In fact, when the officers felt the thickness of the envelope, they even considered assisting.
Otherwise, the money wouldn't feel rightly earned.
But Anthony worried that they would be clumsy and refused them.
This tomb had long been corroded over time, and much of it had collapsed, or else the Stone Slab would not have ended up on the open market.
What remained was the main burial chamber where the tomb's owner was placed.
Here, several traps were set.
But they were all minor issues.
Under police cooperation.
The excavation of the entire tomb proceeded smoothly.
Things were not as smooth.
Once the explosives expert sets up, a bit of blasting, and everything was running smoothly.
And so.
With excavating and blasting, within just three days, a sacrificial pit buried deep underground appeared before Anthony.
Upon receiving the news.
Anthony, excitedly got up, hurried after his men to walk toward the newly opened pathway.
This was the first time he had excavated the tomb of a Divine Favored.
Hoping for surprises!
..
At the end of the passageway was an entrance embedded in the mountainside.
This was a natural rocky cave, filled with irregular rocks.
Inside, there were no records like murals.
Only a notable sculpted stone platform with a colossal coffin placed atop it.
The surface of the coffin was rusted with iron.
Below, things were piled like a mountain.
Most of it could be identified as various bone fragments.
It seemed something had shattered them.
These bone fragments piled up like a mountain, numbering in the thousands.
The rest were a chaotic jumble.
These seemed to be various metal trinkets and adornments left by many individuals, preserved due to the materials.
Evidently, this was the main burial chamber of the tomb.
..
The main burial chamber was simple.
This didn't surprise Anthony.
According to the timeline, the tomb owner's death actually occurred during the Black Death epidemic period on the European continent.
That was a terrifying disaster.
Too many people died.
After the Black Death disaster, many power vacuums remained, leading to a new round of slaughter among the ruling class.
In this scenario, populations dwindled.
Even figures of authority found it difficult to mobilize large amounts of manpower to accomplish something.
Indeed, Anthony's focus was entirely on the iron coffin atop the stone platform.
