Primordial God Of Time

Chapter 205: Twelve Calamity!

After the entire ordeal and a while of eating, Kranos finally voiced the question that had been troubling him.

"Father, Mother, what happened to the Immortal World?" The moment Kranos spoke, the air around the table changed slightly, becoming tenser.

The cat sensed the shift and rolled its eyes, raising a paw to smack Kranos on the head.

"How dumb can you be? Can't you wait until we finish eating before asking something like that?"

"Of course, I know that. But what if they decide to leave right after our meal? You're not human, so you wouldn't understand how these things work," Kranos replied calmly, no longer paying attention to the cat.

The cat sighed and said nothing more, focusing on the meal instead. Kranos touched his nose, slightly uneasy. Was he the one who had spoiled its mood?

"About the Immortal World," Raphael interrupted Kranos' thoughts, his voice low. "You may not have heard of this before, but according to what we know so far, they call it the Calamity."

Kranos' eyes widened in disbelief. "The Calamity?" he asked, needing to confirm the words his father had just uttered.

"Yes. That's what they call it. Its purpose is terrifyingly simple. To destroy the Immortal World." As Raphael's words sank in, Kranos was left stunned.

He recalled the warning Kathryn had once given him, telling him that he was making a terrible decision by killing her, warning that they would never survive the calamities that were yet to come.

He also remembered the scene he had traversed through time to witness. In that vision, the mysterious man had mentioned the Fifth Calamity.

"I had guessed earlier that these calamities might be living creatures. Does this mean that if we kill one, a stronger one appears in its place, and they keep coming until we can no longer resist? Will our Immortal World truly be destroyed?" The thought widened Kranos' eyes even further.

A deep frown crept across his face. Sensing the pressure building on his son's shoulders, Raphael smiled faintly and reached out to gently ruffle Kranos' hair.

"Don't worry too much about it. You shouldn't let something like this weigh down on your heart. We, the experts of the Immortal World, will take care of it. There is no need for you to bear the burden alone."

Anna nodded gently and reached over to rub Kranos' chin, her touch calming.

Kranos offered them a warm, reassuring smile. Then, after a brief silence, he spoke once more.

"Then what about the demons planning to destroy our major source of mana stones? How are we going to handle that?"

Raphael retracted his hand and exhaled deeply. "In the end, there is no way to resolve this without suffering some losses," he said, his voice heavy.

Kranos could feel the weight of responsibility pressing down on his father. After a few moments of silence, he asked carefully,

"Father, on that topic, what level of cultivation do you estimate the demons to be at?"

Raphael looked slightly surprised by the question, then responded steadily.

"They should be at most in the God Realm. But there will likely be numerous God Incarnate Realm cultivators among them."

Hearing that, Kranos fell into quiet thought. After a moment, he broke the silence again.

"Hah, Dad. Actually, I've slain gods."

How could he possibly explain that he hadn't only slain gods, but had even defeated God Kings?

That had been back when he was still in the Time Palace Realm. Now, having reached the Time Monarch Realm and awakened his Time Domain, Kranos felt nearly invincible. Aside from a few powerful cultivators and members of the Black Rain Pavilion who were unaffected by time, he believed he could handle anyone else.

However, the moment Kranos spoke those words, his parents stared at him in shock, their expressions almost ridiculous with disbelief, as if he had just said something utterly foolish.

Kranos frowned at their reactions. Even the cat was looking at him with something close to disgust. Was it really that hard to believe?

A Dao Palace Realm cultivator capable of defeating God Realm beings? It was indeed a huge gap.

They clearly did not believe a word of it.

"Son, I know you want to help your father and me, but should you joke with your life like that?" Anna said gently, glancing at him with a look full of motherly affection.

Kranos looked stunned, blinking in confusion.

"Huh? I'm not lying," he said, his tone more serious than before.

Anna simply shook her head, convinced that he was only trying to show his dedication to the royal family. Even the cat shook its head, completely refusing to acknowledge what it believed was a ridiculous lie.

Though Kranos was a time cultivator, most time cultivators specialized in a single aspect of time and could not be truly versatile.

Seeing the disbelief in their eyes, Kranos sighed softly. He furrowed his brows and quietly resumed eating. If his parents refused to believe him, there was no point in continuing the discussion. He had already voiced his thoughts.

"Son," Raphael said finally, having observed Kranos closely. As someone who had seen many things, he recognized sincerity when he saw it. "Let's test it. I will lower my strength to the level of a God Realm expert and raise it one level at a time, depending on how many levels you can defeat."

Kranos' eyes lit up with excitement. This was his chance to prove his strength.

The cat also widened its eyes. It had already sensed the truth about Kranos' parents. Perhaps now more would be revealed?

Anna, however, glared at Raphael. "Don't speak such nonsense. Our son just returned from a long journey, and now you want to test him?"

Raphael scratched his head in embarrassment. "Haha, of course not. I just didn't want him to feel like we doubted him," he replied with a bashful smile.

Anna thought for a moment. His words did seem reasonable, but she was still hesitant.

"There is no need for that. He won't stress himself just to prove a point. What if you accidentally use too much force? And what if he actually defeats you? Wouldn't that be too embarrassing for you to accept?"

Raphael smiled wryly, acknowledging her valid concerns.

Kranos, however, recalled someone important. The one who had first placed him on the sword path. His mysterious teacher—Old Man Don.

"Dad, what about Teacher? He and I could spar. He should be strong enough, right?"

At those words, Raphael's eyes lit up. That was right. How could he forget his old friend?

Anna let out a frustrated sigh. "Are neither of you listening to me? Like father, like son, truly."

After some discussion, Anna finally agreed to let Kranos fight Old Man Don, but only after receiving several promises that the old man would not harm him in the slightest. If he did, she warned that he would be sent to the afterlife.

After repeatedly reassuring her, Raphael left to fetch Old Man Don. Since the royal capital was in danger, he had been residing nearby.

Within a few minutes, Raphael returned, descending from the sky with a familiar middle-aged man.

Old Man Don.

As Kranos stared at the teacher who had once trained him without the aid of cultivation, he felt a wave of emotion rise within him. He clasped his hands and bowed respectfully.

"Teacher."

Old Man Don looked momentarily stunned. Then a broad smile spread across his lips as he stared at the silver-haired young man.

"My boy, you've grown into a fine young man. I hope you haven't been stealing all the girls of your generation." His voice was lighthearted as he chuckled.

As the saying goes, a teacher for a day is a father for life.

Seeing how much Kranos had grown, Old Man Don felt proud. His efforts had not been in vain. For Kranos to venture through the cultivation world and still return intact, it could only mean he had relied on his wits and, more importantly, his strength.

At the thought, the old man smiled once more.

Kranos chuckled at the comment but chose not to reply. If he admitted that he wasn't interested in love and instead sought only the pinnacle of strength, his parents would certainly not take it lightly.

He smiled faintly, then turned toward his parents, silently urging them to explain the reason for calling the teacher.

Raphael laughed awkwardly. "Actually, my wife Anna has something she wants to tell you."

Anna's eyes widened slightly. Kranos couldn't help but laugh lightly.

"Coward," she muttered before proceeding to explain the situation to Old Man Don.

Before she could finish, Old Man Don interrupted, stunned.

"What? Are you saying he claimed he could defeat someone in the God Realm while still at the Dao Palace Realm?" He looked at Kranos in disbelief.

"Boy, do you even understand what the God Realm is? Have you heard of domains?"

Kranos touched his nose. Should he tell them that he had already formed his own domain? That would probably sound too overpowered.

Instead, Kranos laughed softly and said nothing. He would show them through action when the time came.

Seeing Kranos' confident expression, Old Man Don shook his head, then turned back to Anna, waiting for her to continue.

"Interrupting me again? Hmph," Anna sneered, causing a chill to run up the old man's spine. Then she resumed explaining the rest.

When she finally finished, Old Man Don fell into a daze.

"Are you still the same disciple I once raised? When did you become so arrogant? Arrogance always comes before a fall!" he shouted toward Kranos, his voice stern.

He could hardly believe Kranos had chosen to walk such a dangerous path. He sighed, then his expression changed slightly.

"In the end, it is left to me, your master, to bring you back to the right path and rid you of this arrogance," he said softly, stepping toward Kranos with steady determination.

The azure sky sword materialized in Kranos' hands.
