Cursed to level 1 with an Ego weapon

Chapter 117: Out of the Cemillas

[Base won 560 XP from members' activities!

Because you cannot get XP, Base Management was turned into into 400 Ego XP]

That was nice progress yesterday. Because of the amount of activity produced by everyone, the base was past the halfway point for level 2. Differently from skills, which all need 1000 XP to level up, but you get less as potential decreases, base level increases by 3 times each level, meaning you need to do more to get to the next spot.

"Can I rest today...? The town was too much..." Lisa says, not leaving the bed.

We managed to get the beds in line, somehow, but now they are all bunched against a wall.

Jace is still unconscious, so we need someone to look over him anyway.

With the devil's luck, we'll get a bigger building soon.

"I am okay with that," I explain. "But I was thinking about exploring Cemillas today."

"I suppose you are missing hitting the dungeons." She explains.

"That, and I need to know what connection Oswald had with that place."

"Okay, let's go!" Aurelia explains. "I am tired of being in the city!"

"We have been just a few days," I point out.

"It feels like we have been for way more!"

"I borrowed some books from the library... I believe they will help me with my search." Leiva comments. "If our guest wakes up, I will make sure to ask him for information."

I thank Leiva and leave with Aurelia.

She obviously brings her dragon. And somehow managed to convince me to get on top and fly towards the dungeon. The travel would be faster, yes, but I want to survive.

The beast, looking threatening as ever, looks at me for a few seconds before huffing and then looking forward.

"It knows we are together." Aurelia comments. "Come! We are going quickly!"

The start of the flight was forceful and made me grab Aurelia from behind and press against her back. I got startled for a second, believing I was about to fall, but holding myself to her helps a lot.

"Hah! So this is how it feels..." I say, feigning bravery.

The sight is breathtaking. I can see the mountain range to the south, the expanse of the valley covered in white, the forests with sleeping trees. All I have been doing these past weeks has been running, fearing attacks, and feeling someone might betray me once more. But now, seeing the land under me, I feel free for the first time since I got here.

"Hold yourself well, he is fast!"

She warns, and we go forward like a bullet. I embrace her, afraid, and push myself against Aurelia to make sure my grip is of iron. She seems calm. She flies fast, but her pet is faster.

"What a view!" Karina says, floating near me.

"I wish I could enjoy it!" I answer, closing my eyes. Hell, the wind is barely letting me look.

"Haha! Not that brave now, aren't you, Amber?!" Aurelia mocks me.

Oh, you little...

I remember what Karina said to me yesterday about being straightforward.

I growl behind Aurelia and decide to attack!

I lift my hands from her stomach and grab her chest. "Say what now?!" I ask.

Holy shit! Both mounds were soft and filled my hands! Even with the scales, I could feel them entirely and how they molded!

"H-hey! What are you doing?!"

"Oh my... You actually went for it!" Karina asks while covering her chest, as if I could touch her.

And then, while touching, I realize what I am doing. Basically, telling Aurelia that she can let go and attack back.

But before I could remove them, I got caught with an interesting surprise.

"I told you not to touch what is sen... What is sensible!" She reacts in a way I was not expecting. There is a shudder, while her back arches like trying to fight and push my hands further.

"Huh... That is the same thing I told you the other night... So if you are going to talk shit, I am taking these two!" I answer with regained confidence.

"Ggrrrr...!" She growls, trying to sound tough, yet I can tell she is losing the fight.

I let her direct the flight in peace after, yet she was growling the whole way.

Cemillas. A big building that I know has seen better days. A castle from a long past that doesn't exist anymore. A fortress to defend that which ceased to be in this world.

The more I look at it, the more dizzy I feel, watching it grow in size as we approach on top of the dragon.

We land just a few meters from the entrance, and jump out of the dragon.

"That was better than I expected!" I comment with a smile.

"Of course, you were groping Aurelia like your life depended on it."

"Hey, I needed to grab myself on something," I answer.

"W-why did you do that for?!" Aurelia suddenly asks me.

First time I've seen her face this red! She is blushing like she is boiling inside.

"You did the same to me the other night! We are even!" I answer.

"W-where did you get the...?!" She takes a step back.

Now that I think about it, she really gets flustered when I grab her tail.

Maybe...

"Wait... Don't tell me." I give her a smug smile. "You are not used to being on the receiving end, are you?"

"Ah! That makes sense!" Karina comments.

"S-shut up! It's not that!" Seeing her flustered like this for the first time is kind of cathartic. "You just caught me by surprise."

Then my fear about her was kind of unfounded? Because even when strong, dominant women are attractive on their own, I like a balance, and I am not masochistic.

"You are missing a few centimeters to ever try to make me yield." She recovers and takes a step forward. "So if you try that ever again, I will..."

She cuts short when she notices I also step forward and go inside her personal space myself. As a claim, I place my arm on her waist, and I notice her shudder, but she doesn't move.

"You will what?" I ask her. I keep my smile, even when she is the one with the bigger frame, and I have to crank my head up, she still gets caught on her words.

She stops for a second before swallowing. "You... Ugh..." The dragon lady rolls her eyes. "Heh... You are an asshole."

"You are the bigger one," I answer, and we both chuckle.

CRACK!

Something snaps nearby.

"God dammit!" I curse as I turn towards the sound.

Both Aurelia and I take out our weapons while we are blushing red.

"Curtis, you idiot! " I see Asena come out from behind a rock. "I told you to stay quiet!"

"Asena got too close. Made a mistake." He answers her.

"Hah! As if I wanted to see what they were doing..." She turns towards me, then waves her hand.

I will kill them.
