Chapter 62: The Plan

The journey back to the surface had been one of silence. Felix hadn't acted—yet. It would be stupid of him, noting the multiple powerful figures he'd picked up were likely to be Sages like Yemada who were in the grand scheme of things.

It would be a suicide mission. But Felix's sharp intellect had already come up with a plan:

Firstly, he needed more information—but no more from Yemada. She had risked it to bring him this far and show him the scale of what he was up against. Any more than that and her neck might be on the line—if it wasn't already. And Felix was still yet to know why she did what she did for him.

Secondly, he needed to assess himself. Felix was sure he had leveled up after the defeat of Nemesis and had been gifted and endorsed a lot over the three-day-long battle. He hadn't had the time since he woke up, but there was no better time than now. He was going to be needing everything he could.

Thirdly, the perfect time. It has been over a week since the Sages returned from Vastoria for the tournament, and it was starting in a few days. Everyone should be there. The majority of the Sages should be present at the tournament arena, leaving the lab to the Triple S Guard and a handful of Sages. That was the perfect time to strike.

The quest objective had been to 'clear the false dungeon.' In other words, destroy. And Felix planned on doing just that.

Just then, they arrived outside the Sunshine Amusement Park once more, and Felix was relieved to see Ben's car still parked at the spot.

"You should report back to the Sage Council on what happened with those mosquito swarms and let them know you're alive," Yemada said, breaking the silence.

Felix turned to stare at her for a moment, before nodding his head and without a word walked over to Ben's car and slipped into the passenger side.

"What happened? Where's Kyle?" Ben asked as soon as Felix sat down.

Felix was silent as he stared at the entrance of the Sunshine Amusement Park and at Sage Yemada who stood there staring back with her hands behind her back. "Let's go."

"Go where?" Ben asked in confusion.

Felix broke his gaze from Yemada to turn to look at Ben, "Titan Capital."

Felix hopped out as soon as Ben pulled up in front of a high-rise office building with a bold sign that read: Titan Capital.

You'd occasionally see people in corporate business suits frequenting the entrance of the building, but those who were aware of the kind of business they run knew better than to trust anything legal ever went on in the building.

Felix walked into the building without problem, but just as the receptionist spotted him and beamed a professional smile at him, it cracked as she recognized who he was from his exposed white hair and Felix noticed as one of her hands went from the top of the counter to below and moved rhythmically.

Felix instantly knew she was hitting the alarm button, but decided to play along.

"Good day miss, how may I help you today?" The receptionist greeted him with a forced smile.

"Is your boss in?" Felix asked calmly.

"I'm sorry, he just signed out a few minutes ago—" she was saying, when he interrupted her.

"What floor is he on?"

"I—I just said he's not around," the receptionist was starting to panic, when a security guard approached the table.

"Do we have a problem here?" He asked the receptionist with his hand already laying on the baton strapped to his waist.

"Yes, please—ahh!"

Felix struck out two fingers to the throat of the security guard that forced him back a few steps as he retched, coughing out saliva as his face burned red.

Then he grabbed the receptionist's collar before she could draw back, pulling her half way across the counter. "I'm gonna ask you one last time, what floor is he on?"

"5—5th," she stuttered in fear with a shaky hand pointing upwards.

"Hey! What do you think you're doing?" A gruff voice suddenly called out as one of the 'corporate workers' hurried over.

"Thank you," Felix replied as he pushed the receptionist back, making her trip behind the counter.

The man quickly arrived before Felix and went to grab his arm, but Felix beat him to it and grabbed his wrist forcefully, twisting it that drew a painful cry from his lips, then punched his chest with his free hand which sent the man to the floor wriggling in pain as he grabbed his chest.

At that moment, more goons poured out from the elevator and stairs with iron bars and batons, yelling as they rushed at him.

Felix didn't wait for them to get to him. The moment the first wave of goons spilled into the lobby, he moved. He summoned and activated the [Blade Aura]—a barely perceptible, shimmering energy that enveloped the Deathrizzler sword.

He didn't need to swing the sword; he simply ran toward them. The blade, still held low, cut through the air in a single, perfectly horizontal line.

The first two men screamed as the invisible aura, moving faster than they could track, sliced across their legs, sending them collapsing to the pristine marble floor. Before the others could react, Felix executed a blindingly fast spin, the Deathrizzler's hilt striking the third man's jaw with a sickening crack, followed by a push with the [Telekinesis] skill that slammed the fourth into the wall.

The last remaining guard, seeing the carnage, hesitated and tried to raise his iron bar. Felix dismissed the Blade Aura, letting the energy dissipate, and used his [Telekinesis] skill to rip the iron bar from the guard's grip and slammed it back heavily into his face with the force of a battering ram, dropping him instantly.

A second wave of goons quickly poured out from a service door near the elevator bank. They were already spreading out, trying to flank him.
