Chapter 486: Killing
Iber thought that if he tried the same trick, the little monster would turn her attention on the man and women instead of chasing after him.
Iber arrived before Chen Zhao, Sienna, and Rupert. But before he could act, Chen Zhao already sent him down with a punch and took his gun.
“What are you doing? There’s a monster…”
Chen Zhao dragged Iber toward Cheryl’s direction. Iber wanted to struggle, but he couldn’t at all.
His arm was dislocated, but Chen Zhao was still dragging him back.
When they reached Cheryl, Chen Zhao tossed Iber before her.
Cheryl looked up and pounced.
“Ah… Ah… Help!”
Right now, Cheryl was all bloody.
“Chen… Cheryl is only 12… You shouldn’t let her kill someone!” Sienna stared at Chen Zhao with grievances.
“Now is the right time,” Chen Zhao said. “If you wait until she’s 13, she’ll have lost control completely. I already asked my friend. Cheryl is a mixed werewolf. She still thinks of herself as a human in her mind. She can only become a true werewolf by abandoning her identity.”
“What do you mean?”
“Kill,” Chen Zhao said. “Killing a human means killing her identity as a human. Then she’d be recognized by her wolf bloodline.”
“What’ll happen if she doesn’t become a true werewolf?”
“She’ll be corroded by her beast side and become a true beast. By then, either you kill her or she’ll kill you.”
“Then what will she turn into now?”
“Other than becoming stronger, she’ll have some mental trauma.” Chen Zhao shrugged helplessly. “Cheryl is still Cheryl. She won’t change because of this.”
Chen Zhao looked toward her. “Cheryl, how do you feel right now?”
Cheryl raised her head. She touched her face with a bloody paw.
Then she turned toward Yura. Yura was a bit afraid of her.
This hurt Cheryl and made her feel down.
This may be the first friendship of her life.
Yura was different from Chen Zhao, Sienna, and Chris.
To her, they were seniors, like an older brother and sister. She could rely on them.
But she felt that Yura was her friend.
At least, there was a moment where she truly felt that Yura was her friend.
That was why she’d risked everything to protect Yura.
But now, Yura’s fear hurt like a needle in her heart.
It was worse than getting shot.
Chen Zhao furrowed his brows. “Yura.”
Finally, Yura gathered her courage and walked over.
She opened her arms and hugged Cheryl. “Cheryl, thank you for not abandoning me. I’ll never abandon you either.”
“Wah!” Cheryl cried out loudly.
“Cheryl, I shouldn’t have hesitated. I’ll never hesitate again.”
“Uh… Umm… Are you two going to keep hugging and acting chummy, or should we take care of this problem first?”
“Hand it to me,” Rupert said. “I promise there won’t be any trace.”
“You?” Yura glanced at Rupert. She looked like a seven or eight-year-old girl. How could she take care of the corpses and blood everywhere?
“Okay, it’s yours,” Sienna said. “If you do it cleanly, you get a share too.”
“Brother, can Cheryl come to our house for a few days?” Yura asked, pulling Chen Zhao’s hand.
Chen Zhao turned toward Sienna. “Can she?”
“As long as Cheryl agrees, I won’t object.”
“Cheryl, let’s sleep together tonight,” Yura said.
Before becoming a true werewolf, there was a conflict between the human and wolf side.
As she grew older, the wolf side would slowly overtake the human side.
But after the kill, Cheryl’s two natures became one.
Now, there were no more worries that Cheryl would suddenly lose control.
…
“Chen, are you coming back tonight?”
“Yeah, Yura and I are almost home. Cheryl’s coming too. Prepare more dinner.” By now, Chen Zhao was on the way back.
After hanging up, Chen Zhao looked at Cheryl. “Cheryl, does your chest still hurt?”
“No,” Cheryl said. “My blood helps me heal really quickly.”
Yura got close to Cheryl’s ears and whispered, “Cheryl, my brother has little elves in his house. Can you help me catch them at night?”
Cheryl glanced at her. “Are you sure?”
“I’m sure…” Yura told Cheryl everything that she saw.
Even though Cheryl was already a true werewolf now, she was still a kid and not much different from Yura.
After getting home, Fali went over to hug Cheryl when she saw her. “Cheryl, welcome.”
“Fali, why didn’t you hug me when I came?” Yura said angrily with a pout.
“Then how about I make it up to you now?’
“No. I’m already hurt. You hurt me.”
…
“Cheryl, are you sleeping?”
“No.” Cheryl opened her eyes.
“Remember what we said earlier?”
“Yeah… What do we do now?”
“Don’t make a sound or open the door,” Yura whispered. “The AI system would notice. We’ll go from the window.”
The two opened the window and followed the rooftop to the balcony on the other side.
“Do you see the little guys down there?”
Cheryl looked at the busy little things in the forest with shock. Her vision was much clearer than Yura.
She could see creatures in the night. They seemed to be fertilizing the trees and plants.
There really were elves! Chen Zhao must be raising them.
Thus, she definitely couldn’t hurt them, or else Chen Zhao would be angry.
Cheryl was very afraid of Chen Zhao. She was clear how terrifying Chen Zhao was.
Even after becoming a true werewolf and becoming much stronger, she still knew how scary Chen Zhao was.
“Can you catch them?” Yura asked.
“I don’t know. They’re really fast.”
First, she definitely couldn’t hurt these little elves.
Thus, she couldn’t use all her might to kill them. Cheryl wasn’t confident.
“You can jump down from this height, right?”
“I’ve jumped from even higher places. It’s okay,” Cheryl said confidently.
She took two steps back, sped up, and jumped off the balcony. She landed heavily on the ground.
But the next moment, she felt something wrap around her legs.
Vines? Where did vines come from?
Next, the vines constricted. Cheryl cried out and she was hanging upside down in the air.
“Chen, are the two girls messing around again?”
“Ignore them. Sleep.” Without opening his eyes, Chen Zhao pulled Fali into his arms and continued sleeping happily.
