Ghost Compendium

Chapter 174: Either Reason or Force!

"Let's go! This time it doesn't seem like an easy target, more of a tough nut!"

"Tough nut or not! What's there to be afraid of? He's so far away, how will he come over with just our two guns?"

"..."

The sound of arguing traveled over four hundred meters, with the two men each insisting on their own viewpoint.

Finally, the man who suggested leaving couldn't convince his partner and grumbled, "Damn it, then you stay here to hunt by yourself. I'm heading back. Don't blame me if something happens since I warned you!"

Having said this, he drew his gun and turned to leave.

Unexpectedly, his partner, who had been defiant and was still planning to continue their long-distance sniping, had suddenly turned pale and had no intention of continuing the argument.

He was just continuously adjusting his scope as if searching for something.

The man who was about to leave noticed something was off and rushed back to ask, "What happened? What's going on with the car?"

"It's... gone! This is ridiculous, one moment it's there and the next it's not, the driver's seat is empty!" His partner said, gritting his teeth.

"How is that possible! He was just..."

Snap—

Before he could finish speaking, both of them felt someone pat their shoulders.

Then a cheeky voice echoed in their ears, "Hey, good morning! Were you looking for me? Your Utopia folks have a unique way of saying hello—inviting me with peanuts first thing in the morning?"

Clatter—

A bullet slipped from the hand of the person speaking and fell to the ground, causing both men's faces to change dramatically.

This was the bullet they had just fired!

The man who was about to leave immediately realized what was happening, and despite his fear, he quickly raised his gun that he had just put away and fired without hesitation.

Snap—

But the expected gunshot didn't occur.

Instead, all he saw was a smiling young man who pressed his hand against the gun, and with a snap, crushed it into scrap metal.

"Run! Quick, run!"

After the gun was destroyed, the man didn't stop. Instead, he gripped the young man tightly, trying to restrain him to give his partner a chance to escape.

Yet, Wu Liang's seemingly slender figure stood unmoved like a mountain, shaking his head and saying, "Stop shouting, does that guy look like he can run?"

Upon hearing this, the man looked down in despair—

His partner was already lying motionless on the ground, as still as a corpse.

This sight made his eyes redden and he screamed, "Ah!! You bastard! I'll fight you!"

No matter how he punched and kicked, the force of an ordinary person hitting Wu Liang felt like a mosquito bite.

Not painful at all, in fact, it even made Wu Liang feel a bit sleepy.

"Calm down, calm down, he's not dead yet. But if you keep hitting me, I can't guarantee I won't accidentally crush him." Wu Liang opened his hands helplessly.

He then gently lifted his foot and pressed it against his partner's head on the ground.

Seeing the murderous look in his eyes, the man didn't doubt that if he acted recklessly, Wu Liang would smash his partner's head like a watermelon falling to the ground.

So, even though he was still furious inside, he stopped, panting heavily.

"Hey, that's better. You guys shot at me first, why are you angry now? It's as if I'm the villain here. You have to be reasonable!" Wu Liang slowly moved his leg.

Meanwhile, the Nightmare silently slipped into the mind of the man on the ground, frantically extracting his memories through subconscious.

Especially all information about Utopia!

"Who… who are you exactly? What do you want in our territory?" the man asked breathlessly, unconsciously glancing at the crushed gunmetal Wu Liang had casually tossed aside.

This young man truly was a walking monster!

He couldn't win a fight, nor could he escape!

"Uh, did your mom never teach you that before asking someone else's name, you should first give yours? Or do you not have a mom?"

Wu Ming silently received the information sent by the Nightmare, while continuing to verbally attack.

"Hazati Alislan."

Seeing the man's face full of rage and still gritting his teeth to say his name, Wu Liang responded, "Oh, I'm Wu Ming, from Di Wu City, hoping to make a deal with your Utopia."

As soon as he finished speaking, the man lying on the ground suddenly opened his eyes.

Obviously, Wu Liang had learned the necessary information, and it was no longer necessary to keep him asleep.

The man who woke up was ready to raise his gun and shoot but was immediately stopped by Hazati beside him.

After explaining the strength of the young man in front of them, the two, with complex expressions, said, "A deal? What kind of deal could you people, who go against the laws of nature, make with us?"

"Haha, a deal concerning the Celestial Pool of Tianshan. This sort of thing isn't up to you, right? How about taking me to meet your leader?"

"Of course, if you don't want to talk reasonably, I'll have to reason with you using force."

Wu Liang squinted his eyes, looking like he was full of malicious intent.

But his stance of being ready to fight at any second gave off a " reject me, and I'll beat you to death" vibe.

This made Hazati and his partner exchange glances.

Thinking it over, they reluctantly said, "Then come with us."

Given the circumstances, they had no choice but to temporarily trust Wu Liang for survival, but they still harbored the thought of bringing him back to the village and preparing to subdue him in advance.

After speaking, Hazati and his partner headed towards their hidden vehicle not far away.

Wu Liang also returned to his off-road vehicle with a few strides.

Watching the two men's car gradually veer off the main road leading to the Celestial Pool of Tianshan, Wu Liang silently followed them, heading towards the so-called self-built Utopian Village.

Through the memories obtained by the Nightmare earlier, he discovered something even stranger—

These two people weren't dead!

Which means the situation here differs from what happened in Wangsheng Village; these guys weren't controlled zombies!

The crucial thing was that Wu Liang genuinely sensed a strange Fierce Ghost aura from them, yet the aura was so weak it was barely detectable.

This faint aura was akin to those rescued unscathed from supernatural events, at most having had contact with the paranormal, completely negligible in terms of being influenced by Fierce Ghosts!

Contact with Fierce Ghosts yet unharmed?

"So, does that mean hundreds of people simultaneously went haywire? And the Fierce Ghosts truly don't attack them?" Wu Liang couldn't help but ask himself.

But he immediately rejected the idea!

"Bullshit! I have seven or eight Fierce Ghost Minions, do I not know what Fierce Ghosts are like?"

If they hadn't been subdued by the Ghost Compendium, the minions under his command would have been scourges themselves! Do Fierce Ghosts harbor any kindness toward the living to not attack them?

It's utterly absurd!

The inhabitants of this self-built Utopia must have some other reason for not being attacked by Fierce Ghosts!

That's why Wu Liang planned to find an excuse to enter the village and explore thoroughly!

After all, the Celestial Pool of Tianshan is associated with the Promised Land!

Who knows if the self-built Utopia has an unknown connection to the Promised Land?
