Chapter 228

Oceanreach Continent, the white North.

Wind howled through the eternal snow, biting and sharp, as the heavens braided grey with the earth in an endless haze. The land here lay frozen year round, a silent sentinel to the cold.

Deep within the snowy mountains, nestled in a secluded valley, a circular altar stood firm against the cold.

Atop this altar, a golden crystal radiated an ethereal light, dazzling and pure.

The golden rays coalesced, morphing into a massive map that hovered above the altar.

At the base of this glowing chart, the words "Skyreach Territory" burned in shimmering gold.

In the southern edge of Skyreach Territory, a golden cursor flickered rapidly, marking something of grave significance.

The Riverborn Clan's high priest, cloaked in fox fur and gripping a bone sword, watched the altar's holy crystal with keen eyes shimmering beneath his hat's shaded brim.

"Inform the clan leader," he commanded quietly, "that traces of the saint of our clan have been found in Skyreach Territory!"

"Yes!" A Riverborn Clan guard acknowledged swiftly.

Soon after, the guard approached the residence of Tiberan Riverborn, the revered head of the Riverborn Clan.

With steady rhythm, the guard knocked at the courtyard door.

"Enter!" came a voice, resonant and commanding.

The doors slid open as the guard stepped in and knelt, hands cupped in respect.

"Master Patriarch, I have brought urgent news," he reported.

"The altar's crystal reveals something strange. The high priest claims to have found signs of our saint."

Inside, Tiberan Riverborn, middle-aged and dressed in a weathered brown robe, closed his book with a snap.

A presence of supreme authority and power radiated from him—he was a genuine Supreme Realm powerhouse.

Moreover, he is the ultimate supreme, with unfathomable strength and combat power, the strongest being on the entire Oceanreach continent.

The clan's guards bowed deeply, half-kneeling, the deepest respect etched into their postures.

"Repeat what you just said," Tiberan Riverborn commanded.

"The high priest discovered the saint's whereabouts," the guard said again.

"Excellent," Tiberan's eyes gleamed with excitement, before swiftly cooling with control.

The guard looked up, but Tiberan Riverborn had already vanished into another wing of the residence.

Only moments later, the clan head appeared beside the altar where the high priest awaited.

The high priest inclined his head in greeting.

"No need for formalities," Tiberan gestured casually, though his gaze burned with intensity.

"Where is the saint located?"

The golden map glimmered, highlighting the saint's location.

"Deep in the south of this continent, within Skyreach Territory."

"I cross referenced the data... The saint is inside the area held by the Azure Origin Dao Sect."

"The Azure Origin Dao Sect… if memory serves, it is a sect formed thousands of years ago by the Blue Void Supreme?"

Tiberan Riverborn mused, "And she's been running for fifty years to avoid marrying into the Moonfall family."

The high priest nodded gravely.

"She's cunning to hide so well," he added.

"And in that time, she unlocked the limits of her bloodline power. But no matter what, without her family's blood, she would achieve nothing."

Tiberan's voice dropped to a cold snort. "She fooled herself if she believes she can do otherwise."

"When shall we bring the saint back?" The high priest asked.

"Now," Tiberan declared, unhesitatingly.

Though Skyreach Territory was remote, powerful Supreme Realm experts were still present there.

"Two inferior Supremes will lead the team to retrieve her," the high priest replied, calculating.

Tiberan nodded, entrusting the mission to the high priest.

"And what will we do?" The high priest queried.

"We will pay a visit to the Moonfall Clan," Tiberan decided.

"Our alliance with Moonfall remains. Now that the saint returns, the Riverborn Clan must fulfill our agreement: to marry the saint to Lucien of the Moonfall Clan."

Tiberan's expression hardened.

"You once spied on the secrets of heaven. Troubled times are on the horizon. Though the Riverborn Clan is ancient and powerful, survival is not guaranteed."

"Uniting with the Moonfall Clan, another ancient family, increases our odds."

"But the saint's stubborn nature worries me. She caused trouble even in youth."

"I have given her fifty years of freedom outside the clan's shadow. If she continues to resist, I will be forced to apply harsher measures upon bringing her back."

Though Althea was his daughter, the clan's future demanded sacrifice.

"How can she refuse? The fate is set," Tiberan snorted coldly before turning and leaving.

The high priest sighed softly, a pang of grief washing over her.

She had watched the saint grow, yet the chains of fate bound her to a destiny unchosen.

"Come here!" The high priest's voice cut through her sorrow as she summoned her disciples.

"Disciples, come forth! The high priest commands."

A Riverborn Clan guard stood ready.

"What are your orders, High Priest?" he asked.

"Notify the third and fourth commanders of the Silver Armor Guard," she commanded. "Gather our finest warriors, and bring them to me."

"Yes, High Priest!" The guard saluted and hurried away.

.....

Far from the clan's stronghold, in a hidden cave deep within the mountains.

Ethan's eyes fluttered open gently.

He had been secluded for half a month, immersed in intense cultivation.

The attribute energies of earth vein flowers and other rare heavenly materials had been completely absorbed.

Now, the remnants dissolved into ashes, drifting away without a trace.

The Eight Trigrams formation beneath him quickened its rotation.

Power within his blood and essence condensed with palpable force.

Ethan's eyes flared, a shout swelling silently in his heart.

"Open!"

A resounding boom echoed.

Majestic power surged into his body, suffusing every fiber of his being.

He broke through the late stage of the 4th level of the Celestial Jade Physique Scripture.

His heartbeat quickened, pumping mysterious strength coursing through veins, muscles, and bones.

He could feel his blood and vitality ascending like never before.

Within him, the Celestial Prism Dharma Body began to manifest, solidifying and glowing brighter with each passing moment.

Three hours later.

Ethan opened his eyes once more.

"It's done!"
