Finally, the last Zulcan fell.

Aron hovered above the battlefield, breathing steadily, his expression grim as he turned his gaze toward a shadowed part of the forest.

A guttural roar ripped through the trees.

RROOOOAAARRR!

A massive Zulcan stepped out of the forest, its eyes burning with hatred as it released a crushing aura that shook the ground.

Aron frowned, studying it.

This one was different, stronger, larger, and with tusks so massive they looked more like siege weapons.

From its size and aura alone, Aron guessed it was the leader leading the siege.

It glared up at him with pure hatred, as if Aron had slaughtered its family.

Which, to be fair, he kind of did.

The beast had been hiding this whole time. Unlike its underlings, it had the sense to stay back and observe.

But Aron's sensory range covered two miles, there was no hiding from him.

He'd known it was there, waiting, but couldn't quite reach it until now.

"Reinforcements are here!"

A soldier shouted as thousands of riders appeared in the distance, their banners fluttering.

But instead of retreating, the Zulcan stayed put.

Its glare sharpened.

Then, to everyone's surprise, it snapped off its own tusks with a roar, blood splattering the ground, as it dropped to one knee.

Aron blinked. "...Okay, that's weird."

"Zamuda... Zamuda... Zamuda derentai..."

The chant echoed, a surge of black miasma suddenly exploded outward.

Aron's vision went black for an instant. When it returned, he was standing on solid ground again, but no longer in the forest.

Now, he stood in a vast, barren wasteland. The sky was gray, the air heavy.

Bones and skulls littered the ground as far as the eye could see.

The Zulcan stood a few meters away, eyes filled with the same hate and disdain.

Aron tilted his head up, way up, to meet its gaze.

Compared to the giant, he looked like an ant.

But he didn't feel the slightest bit intimidated.

"You puny human dare court death?"

The Zulcan's mouth moved, and a deep, gravelly voice rumbled forth.

Aron blinked in surprise. "Oh, so you can talk! Nice!"

He looked around the desolate wasteland. "So, uh... where are we exactly? Not that I'm complaining, but I had dinner plans."

The Zulcan sneered, or at least what looked like it.

The bleeding from its tusks had stopped, and its twisted expression could only be described as a horrifying attempt at a smile.

"This is the Arena of Death. Only one may leave. There is no escape, no aid, no mercy," it rumbled. "This will be your tomb. Be honored human."

"Yeah, honored. Sure." Aron instantly became relieved at hearing he was just in a space realm of some kind.

As he rolled his shoulders. "Let's get this over with shall we."

The Zulcan roared and charged, the ground cracking under its weight.

Aron yawned and lazily activated Death Speed, doubling his movement speed in an instant. His body blurred.

He flicked his wrist, summoning a timer from his storage space.

He started it, tossed it aside, and muttered, "Let's see how long this takes."

Rocks rose from the ground, swirling toward him as he used Earth Control.

Stones surged up, wrapping around him, forming a massive, rocky mech-like armor.

With Water Control, liquid gathered at each joint, lubricating the structure for smoother, faster motion.

The stone giant matched the Zulcan's towering height.

The colossal mech's eyes gleamed as Aron lifted one stony arm.

With a mix of Earth and Water Control, he swung.

BOOOOM!

The impact rattled the wasteland, sending dust and bone fragments into the air.

Both combatants slid backward, Aron's mech skidding several meters, while the Zulcan stumbled only five.

Its red eyes widened in disbelief.

"Humans are weak! They only fight through familiars! That..." it gestured to the mech "...is no familiar. What are you!?"

Its voice thundered with confusion and rage as it scanned the stone mech from head to toe.

Aron didn't bother answering.

He was already moving.

Stone fists blurred as he lunged.

The Zulcan tried to block, but spikes of earth erupted from below, momentarily pinning its arms.

It shattered them instantly, but that single heartbeat was all Aron needed.

The mech's fist slammed into the Zulcan's jaw with a crunch.

Spittle flew.

The shimmering mana film protecting its body cracked, leaving a brief opening.

"Gotcha," Aron muttered.

CRACK.... ZAP!

Lightning exploded through the Zulcan's body, electricity dancing across its skin.

The creature howled, convulsing as its limbs spasmed uncontrollably.

Aron didn't let up.

Punch after punch landed, each one laced with thunder until green blood splattered the barren ground.

High above, fifty orbs of lightning formed in the sky, each wrapped in spiraling water spears.

Aron seized the dazed Zulcan and hurled it upward.

The stone armor crumbled away, revealing Aron beneath, expression blank, utterly calm.

He summoned four long spears and drove them into the ground in a cross formation, the tips angled skyward.

It was the same setup he'd used before, but this time, instead of keeping his distance, he kicked off his shoes and lay down right between the spears, gripping the ones near his head while his feet pressed against the others.

He looked up at the falling Zulcan, lips curling into a tiny, wicked grin.

As soon as the beast's back brushed the first orb of lightning, Aron whispered,

"Boom boom, fucker."
