SSS-Rank: I Create My Own Quest

Chapter 52: [53] Lowest Talented Theon!

Everyone looked to the back, their gazes landing on Theon and his group. Travis immediately stepped to the side, distancing himself from Theon.

Theon looked puzzled and pointed to himself, asking, "Are you talking about me?"

Looking at Theon's silly appearance, everyone could not help but laugh.

"Yes, you! Have you seen my talent? I am the only one good enough for Jasmine, and I will not allow garbage like you to have any thoughts of wooing her." Osborn pointed at Theon, arrogant and aggressive.

Theon was stunned, all the sudden reminded of another girl from his memory, when he looked at Jasmine.

"Well, brother Theon, you told us that you were not interested in Jasmine, so how do you explain it now?" John demanded.

"Ha ha ha, if you like Jasmine, go after her! Don't be scared, just because he is noble." Mayor laughed.

The misunderstanding only continued to grow. The students on the side of the noble apprentices looked at Theon, disdainful expressions on their faces.

"Another fool wanting to pursue Jasmine..."

"He dares to go after a girl that Osborn has his eyes on?! Looks like this boy is not afraid of death!"

Theon wanted to explain that things were not how they seemed, but did not know how. Then, Jasmine looked up at him, her eyes indifferent, and said, "The only thing I like are refining serums. Please stop wasting your time."

No one was very surprised by her dismissive words, as everyone was used to Jasmine's cold attitude.

"Hum! What are you guys laughing at? Theon came in with a letter of recommendation! How many of you are a match for him?" Klein looked at the group of nobles, sneering.

The nobles, who had been laughing at Theon, became silent, as if their throats had been gripped and choked. The civilian apprentices knew how hard it was to get a letter of recommendation, so they knew that Theon had to have quite a lot of talent, at least much more than most of them!

"So, you have a letter of recommendation... No wonder you dared to hit on Jasmine. But, you're still no match for me." Osborn sneered at him.

Osborn then walked down to the test station, as the others continued to detect their talent values. That scene was only a small episode, which luckily had no effect whatsoever on the subsequent assessment.

But now, the noble apprentices were all wondering where Theon had come from, as they had never heard of such a genius before. At the same time, they were all curious as to whether Theon would be Osborn's match.

Soon, it was Jasmine's turn. Everyone was also curious about the value of Jasmine's elemental talent.

"If she hadn't been seriously ill last year, she would have already have become a certified Geneticist by now. I heard that her success rate has already reached 90 percent."

"Jasmine is definitely a genius. But, I don't know how she'll compare to Osborn."

With all eyes upon her, Jasmine put her hand on the crystal.

Buzz…

The crystal shone brilliantly, even brighter than it had with Osborn. It shone in a variety of colors, but black and white were the most prominent. The score on the analytical instrument was also starting to soar.

"Wow, a score of 139!"

"Goodness!"

People could not help but exclaim in awe at this number, as Osborn had just set a high score of 121, but Jasmine had overtaken him!

"She's got 139 points, after just one year! Jasmine has improved!"

"That's amazing! It looks like no one will be able to exceed this figure this year."

This time, neither the nobles nor the civilian apprentices provoked each other, because Jasmine was not officially aligned with either camp. However, her talent exceeded Osborn's, which inevitably created quite a sensation.

When Osborn saw Jasmine's talent value, his eyes shone with even more admiration for her. As the assessment went on, all of the other geniuses with letters of recommendation only got talent values of up to 85.

Soon, it was Theon's turn. As Klein began to examine his talent, his appearance caused quite a lot of controversy.

"Is that Klein? I've heard that he's only 16, but has already succeeded in raising the success rates of four types of Grade one serums to 80 percent!"

"Osborn is already 21! And, as he is only 16, there is still much room for further growth!"

Youth was the greatest capital, after all. Klein, for example, was not as good as Osborn and Jasmine in some aspects, but he was still young, so by the time he reached their ages, he might be better than them all!

Buzz!

The crystal ball lit up again. It was as bright as Osborn's, but the elements in it were far more colorful. The scores on analytical instruments began to soar, finally landing on the number 120!

In that instant, cries of surprise and sighs of awe filled the room.

"Wow! Just a little bit more and he'll surpass Osborn!" one of the civilian apprentices said, full of regret.

"He got 120 points! He's so talented, it won't be long before he catches up with Osborn." The noble apprentices were all surprised.

Klein walked over to the resting area with a proud look on his face, looking at Osborn provocatively.

"Little child, even if you're talented, that is far from being enough." Osborn sneered at him, not caring about Klein.

As a noble, he had access to resources that were unattainable by others. So, Klein's talent truly was not enough. If Osborn could not get his hands on resources, Klein's talents would be useless. This was one of the reasons why noble Geneticists had always looked down on civilian Geneticists.

After Klein had finished, it was Theon's turn. At this moment, the eyes of the crowd could not help but turn to Theon, a guy with a letter of recommendation, who had dared to compete with Osborn for Jasmine's heart!

...

All eyes were on Theon. He was a little nervous, as he had no idea what his talent would be ranked as. The reason why he could refine the serum was all thanks to the teaching of the Heart of the Universe.

As he placed his big hands on top the crystal ball, Theon suddenly felt a strange force flow into it. The energy was somewhat different from primal energy, as it seemed more nuanced and familiar, almost similar to the pull he got from generating the wind talent.

Buzz buzz…..

The crystal ball was illuminated and dotted fluorescent lights were flashing forth from it, like a dazzling firefly! Theon's elemental talent value was quickly reported on the instrument:

5 points!

The audience was silent for a while, then the noble apprentices simultaneously burst into fits of laughter.

"Hahaha, 5 points! Only 5 points!"

"With just his little bit of talent, he dares to have a crush on Jasmine! Is he crazy or what?"

"Ha, a 5 points elemental talent value is the lowest among everyone here!"

"His letter of recommendation must have been forged or stolen, as who would give a letter of recommendation to such a garbage talent?"

Faced with the ridicule of the noble apprentices, the civilian apprentices could only endure it with their faces blushed. They felt truly ashamed.

Just now, Klein was still speaking up for Theon, trying to prove that Theon was a talented person. But now, he felt as if he had been punched in the face.

But, the fact remained that Theon's elemental talent value was definitely the lowest among those present. Even Klein was stunned to see him attain such an underwhelming number of points.

"Brother Theon, did you not display your true power?" Clay asked carefully.

Theon shrugged and said, "This is all of the talent I have. I can't help it."

Theon knew his limitations, as he had refined the serum many times, yet did not sense a single bit of elemental fluctuation. In fact, the success of his refining depended entirely on the memories inherited from the system.

"Haha. Jasmine, did you hear that? This guy is being funny!" Osborn laughed sarcastically.

Jasmine, after a brief look up at him, returned her gaze to her book. It seemed like there was nothing else in the world that mattered to her, except for her pharmaceutics studies. Likewise, Theon had no intention of fighting back in the face of such ridicule. It wasn't worth it.

Meanwhile, in the conference room on the top floor, the high-level executives of the Geneticist Guild frowned when they saw Theon's elemental talent value.

"Who gave him his letter of recommendation?" Ryan asked, his face sullen. After all, it was a total waste of the quota to give a letter of recommendation to someone with such a low talent value.

"Probably some Grade one Geneticist," said the secretary, Marie, calmly, as she pushed down her glasses.

Theon's presence was like a farce. Although the high-level executives were unhappy about it, they would not waste too much energy fighting it at present. However, they had already kicked Theon out in their hearts.
