Divine Doctor from the Start of the Eye Mutation

Chapter 818: Have a Good Talk

Ling Zhenfei smiled and said, "Of course, sitting together and chatting is no big deal."

Guoguo said in a low voice, "Divine Doctor Ling, can you not bring up what happened last night anymore? Are you deliberately trying to insult me?"

Ling Zhenfei laughed, "Insult you? How would I dare? But I do have some doubts about your purpose in finding me. If you want to apologize, there's no need. You have nothing to apologize for."

Guoguo hesitated for a moment and said, "Divine Doctor Ling, let's have a proper talk. I have a favor to ask you."

Ling Zhenfei was taken aback and said, "So you need a favor from me? No wonder your attitude is different from last night."

Ling Zhenfei glanced around and saw a corner with few people sitting. He said to Guoguo, "Let's sit over there and talk."

The two of them walked over and sat down in the train station waiting area. Guoguo acted very ladylike, completely different from her demeanor last night.

After sitting down, Ling Zhenfei said to Guoguo, "I'm curious, how did you know I came to the train station?"

Ling Zhenfei voiced the question in his heart. He had announced publicly that he was going to another hospital to treat patients, yet somehow Guoguo still found him.

Guoguo said, "I've been following you, that's how I found you."

"Why are you following me? Don't think I don't know what you're up to."

Ling Zhenfei didn't have a good opinion of people like Guoguo, using such means to make money certainly didn't make her a good person.

If that night Ling Zhenfei was an ordinary person, he would've been ruined by Guoguo's honey trap.

Guoguo looked very surprised, "You know what kind of person I am?"

Ling Zhenfei laughed, "You're just a honey trap con artist, am I right?"

"I'm not a con artist..." Ling Zhenfei's words made Guoguo panic, trying desperately to explain.

Ling Zhenfei smiled and said, "No need to explain. I trust what I saw. Am I wrong in thinking you tried to trick me with a honey trap that night?"

Guoguo's expression turned very strange, it was hard to tell what she was thinking.

Finally, Guoguo nodded, "Fine, I admit I was running a honey trap."

"So, what are you planning now? Another con?" Ling Zhenfei looked at Guoguo with some caution.

Since he knew Guoguo was a con artist, he had to be more careful. Who knew what other tricks she had up her sleeve? The world was full of scams, making it hard to guard against them.

Guoguo seemed a bit at a loss on how to explain, she could only say, "I've already apologized, what more do you want?"

Ling Zhenfei said, "Is that all? How many times have you run honey traps, how much money have you swindled? Do you dare to say?"

Guoguo looked at Ling Zhenfei seriously and said, "As long as you want to know, I'll tell you everything."

Ling Zhenfei looked at Guoguo curiously, really not understanding what Guoguo wanted from him. It almost seemed like she genuinely had something important to ask.

But would he agree? Knowing Ling Zhenfei, he wouldn't. He despised con artists.

Years ago, after Zhou Yun left her home, she had a fair amount of money, but being too naive, she was soon swindled out of everything and ended up on the streets.

It was because Zhou Yun ended up on the streets that she met Ling Zhenfei's brother. However, Zhou Yun never forgot the face of the con artist who swindled her, and she would grit her teeth with anger whenever she talked about it.

Initially, Guoguo told him she was in that profession, which, in Ling Zhenfei's view, was far better than running honey traps - at least it was upfront.

Honey traps caused too much harm, it was a matter of one's integrity.

Ling Zhenfei said to Guoguo, "You don't need to tell me anything else. I don't want to see you, just leave. I hate con artists the most."

Guoguo's face turned pale, "I'm begging you, we did have something happen last night, please give me a chance."

Ling Zhenfei didn't want to get involved with Guoguo. To him, she was just a pretty face; character was what mattered most.

Ling Zhenfei looked at the time and said, "Tell me what you want, and give me a reason. If you can convince me before the train leaves, I will help you."

Guoguo's face brightened a bit and she quickly said, "I just want you to treat a patient. You're the Divine Doctor, and only you can help her."

Ling Zhenfei sneered, "Why should I help her?"

Guoguo said, "She's my sister. Let me tell you a story."

Ling Zhenfei said, "I don't have much time."

Guoguo said, "I'll keep it short. When I was young, our house caught fire due to old wiring. The fire was massive, and my twin sister and I were both asleep. By the time we woke up, it was too late.

My father rushed in but could only save one of us. He grabbed me, whether intentionally or not, and saved me first.

When he went back for my sister, it was too late. Though she survived, she was severely burned, a complete change from how we looked exactly the same."

Ling Zhenfei listened, shocked. He couldn't imagine what it was like for a beauty who looked just like Guoguo to be disfigured by burns.

The concern was not her appearance, but how others would look at her and talk about her. It would be an immense pressure, one most people couldn't bear.

With tears in her eyes, Guoguo continued, "My sister remained optimistic, always smiling, but I knew she was in deep pain, especially as she grew older.

Because of the looks and comments from others, she dropped out of school and tried to avoid people. But as she grew up, like any girl, she wanted to be beautiful. She reached the age of marriage, but finding someone to marry her was incredibly difficult.

Now she's increasingly depressed, and smiles are rare on her face. Over time, I worry something terrible might happen."

Ling Zhenfei felt deep compassion for Guoguo's sister. Anyone would be devastated by such circumstances, the judgment of others could be as lethal as any weapon.

"Since junior high school, I made it my goal to cure my sister and restore her appearance, so I worked hard to get into the best university.
