Divine Doctor from the Start of the Eye Mutation

Chapter 801: What Are You Grinning About?

She dressed more like a career woman returning home after work, specifically a strong career woman. Once she got home, she turned into a housewife, changing out of her work clothes into casual homewear and diligently cleaning the house in her slippers.

Ling Zhenfei sat on the sofa, watching the busy Zhou Yun. Chunyu was beside them, reading a secret manuscript given by Ling Zhenfei, mumbling the contents and occasionally gesturing.

It all felt like a complete family, which Ling Zhenfei enjoyed immensely. This was the life he wanted.

Zhou Yun glanced at Ling Zhenfei and said, "What are you giggling about over there by yourself?"

Ling Zhenfei smiled and said, "I'm not laughing at anything. Sister-in-law, it's late; you should rest. You can clean up tomorrow."

Zhou Yun, indeed tired, stood up, stretched, and showcased her perfect figure.

There was no denying Zhou Yun had an amazing figure, and given her current age, it was truly captivating.

Zhou Yun sat down on the sofa, facing Ling Zhenfei.

As he looked at Zhou Yun sitting opposite him, too many thoughts flooded his mind, and he couldn't help but be a little dazed.

"What's wrong? Why are you staring at me like that? Is there something dirty on my face?" Seeing Ling Zhenfei's expression, Zhou Yun was slightly flustered.

Chunyu, on the side, started to laugh, "Sister-in-law, there's nothing dirty on your face. Brother is just staring at you so intently."

Chunyu's words made both Ling Zhenfei and Zhou Yun blush deeply, while the mischievous Chunyu dashed away, giggling.

Both Ling Zhenfei and Zhou Yun were a bit embarrassed. The relationship between the two was indeed complicated and difficult to unravel.

Though they understood each other's thoughts, each still harbored some concerns, in other words, they had too many worries.

So, they chatted casually, avoiding sensitive topics and focusing more on work-related issues.

As it got late, both felt it was time to rest. Zhou Yun suddenly said, "In a few days, once everything is over, I want to go home."

Ling Zhenfei was taken aback, "You mean you want to go back to the Zhou Family?"

Ling Zhenfei knew about Zhou Yun's strained relationship with the Zhou Family. They had had a major fallout back then, and he wondered what prompted her return now.

"Sister-in-law, have you thought this through? Why do you want to go back to the Zhou Family?"

Zhou Yun looked a bit down, saying, "No matter what, it's the home where I was born and raised, and my parents' health isn't great, so I want to see them."

"But have you forgotten what happened back then?" The thought of those years still brought some bitterness to Ling Zhenfei's heart.

Zhou Yun replied, "It's okay. We're not the same as before. I don't think they'd treat me the same way now."

Ling Zhenfei, after some thought, said, "Sister-in-law, let me go back with you."

Zhou Yun quickly waved her hand, "No need. I'm just going for a visit. I'll be fine by myself."

"Alright, now that Xishan Manor is making money, although it's all being reinvested, our situation is much better than before. No one can look down on us."

Zhou Yun smiled, clearly agreeing with Ling Zhenfei's view.

Ling Zhenfei said, "Sister-in-law, honestly, I don't really agree with you going back now. Once our company grows bigger, it would be more respectable for you to return. You know everything I do is for a reason."

The main motivation for Ling Zhenfei in building this company was for Zhou Yun, to one day allow her to return triumphantly to the Zhou Family that once looked down on her.

"It's fine. Don't overthink it; I'm just going for a visit and then coming right back."

"Alright, call me if anything comes up."

After a few more words, the two went to rest. That night passed uneventfully. The next morning, upon opening the door, they found it had snowed. The first snow of the season in Binyang wasn't heavy, but it still blanketed the world in white.

Fairy Lake emitted a white mist that morning, surrounded by pristine snow, creating a breathtaking view as if a fairy was truly about to descend.

What worried Ling Zhenfei more, however, were the Heart-Talk Fruit seedlings, uncertain if they could withstand the cold.

After breakfast, Ling Zhenfei drove to Binyang. His first stop was Binyang Hospital to check on He Lingxiu, who had adapted well to the hospital work over the past few days.

He Lingxiu continued diagnosing patients at a fast pace, seeing many people and encountering various strange illnesses, which benefited her learning.

Every patient first saw He Lingxiu for a diagnosis, after which she referred them to the appropriate department. This was her job.

Over the past few days, He Lingxiu had accumulated many questions while working alone. Now that Ling Zhenfei was here, she consulted him on all her queries.

Ling Zhenfei provided very professional answers to He Lingxiu's questions. The aim of assigning her this job was to help her identify her shortcomings.

They spent the whole morning in the hospital, and around noon, Bai Ling called Ling Zhenfei, reminding him about the monthly patient treatment which was due soon and asking him to schedule it.

Ling Zhenfei then remembered he hadn't treated this month's patient yet and enquired about the voting results.

This time, the most votes went to a young boy from the Provincial City who had leukemia. The little boy was adorable and pitiful, hence received the maximum votes in just a short time.

Ling Zhenfei asked Bai Ling, "Have you contacted the hospital there?"

Bai Ling replied, "Everything is arranged. You just need to schedule the time."

Ling Zhenfei, knowing that the opening of Xi Shan Restaurant was just days away, couldn't delay treating the patient.

"Alright, I'll go there tomorrow, stay for two days, and make it back in time for the restaurant opening."

Bai Ling laughed, "Really? That's great. I'll arrange everything and meet you at the station tomorrow."

"Yes, that's settled."

After hanging up, Ling Zhenfei informed He Lingxiu to accompany him to the Provincial City the next morning.

In the afternoon, Jiang Hui called him saying that they were snowed in on Xianling Mountain, with a large batch of herbs collected but unable to transport them down, potentially delaying their return by two days.

Ling Zhenfei told Jiang Hui not to worry as long as they were back by the tenth, they could still make it for the opening.

He then went to Xi Shan Restaurant. By now, everything was ready; all personnel were in place, and all that was left was for Bai Lin and Xue Fei to return to complete the team.
