Divine Doctor from the Start of the Eye Mutation

Chapter 497 Poison Scripture

The Heavenly Net Poisonous Woman fell, landing not far from Ling Zhenfei. Even from a distance, Ling Zhenfei could feel that she must be dead.

Dead is dead, in such a situation it was either her death or his own.

With no threats remaining, Ling Zhenfei hurriedly began treating the poison within his body.

Ling Zhenfei first used Silver Needles to seal the acupoints around his heart to prevent the poison from spreading, then he mobilized the little Spiritual Power he had left to compress the poison within his body, forcing it towards one location.

The meridians in Ling Zhenfei's body were all sealed, leaving only his palm as the way out. Under the drive of Spiritual Power, all the poison gathered towards his arm. Though it was just a touch of Blood Mist, his entire arm had turned black, presenting a terrifying sight.

Ling Zhenfei punctured a small hole in the center of his palm and then used the Cultivating Technique of Heaven-Splitting Ten Fists. He circulated the Spiritual Power through his Twelve Meridian Circles and, with force, expelled it through his injured hand. The black blood that left with the Spiritual Power was tainted with poison.

After expelling the poisoned blood, Ling Zhenfei finally felt some strength return to his body, but he had not fully recovered. He would need several days of rest before he could return to his former condition.

After completing these tasks, Ling Zhenfei stood up from the ground and looked at the Heavenly Net Poisonous Woman's corpse, feeling pity in his heart. Although the Heavenly Net Poisonous Woman had wanted to kill him, it was still somewhat pitiable that she was now dead.

Ling Zhenfei dug a deep pit in the bamboo forest to bury the corpse of the Heavenly Net Poisonous Woman. Having done all this, Ling Zhenfei returned to the original site, the place that had just witnessed a fierce battle, was now in complete disarray.

The furnace at the entrance had been extinguished, but the contents inside still retained their warmth. Ling Zhenfei pushed open the door of the bamboo house and entered. This was where the Heavenly Net Poisonous Woman had lived. He searched through her belongings, hoping to find information on an antidote for the poison that had affected him.

If he could find the Antidote, that would be even better, but after a search, Ling Zhenfei was stumped. There were bottles and jars inside one of the Heavenly Net Poisonous Woman's cupboards, but what medicines they contained, he couldn't be sure, so he had no choice but to give up.

Just as Ling Zhenfei was about to leave, he suddenly used his Perspective Eye and discovered a hidden compartment within the cupboard that actually contained something.

He quickly opened the compartment and found a book. When he took it out, he saw 'Poison Scripture' written on the cover. Casually flipping through a few pages, it was filled with methods on how to craft and counteract poisons. There were all kinds of poisons, dazzling to the eyes.

Knowing this book would certainly be useful in the future, Ling Zhenfei stored it inside his Heaven-Dropping Essence Marrow.

This was quite the unexpected find. Because he found this hidden compartment, Ling Zhenfei was attentive and used the Perspective Eye to search the surrounding rooms. Since the whole house was made of bamboo, there were many hidden compartments, and inside these, there were toxins prepared by the Heavenly Net Poisonous Woman.

Ling Zhenfei carefully collected them all, as they might come in handy at any given time.

But what Ling Zhenfei did not expect was that, within one of these compartments, he found a Secret Manuscript, and this manuscript turned out to be 'Plucking Leaves and Flying Flowers'.

Overjoyed, Ling Zhenfei reflected on his encounter with the Heavenly Net Poisonous Woman and perceived the finesse of this technique. He hadn't expected to gain so much today, directly finding the Secret Manuscript of 'Plucking Leaves and Flying Flowers'.

After opening the manuscript and giving it a look, Ling Zhenfei quickly grasped the subtleties of the technique and was deeply attracted by its dominance.

'Plucking Leaves and Flying Flowers' focused on the cultivation of control over Spiritual Power, and once mastered, even throwing pebbles could prove lethal. To pluck leaves and send them flying could injure an opponent, the method being both ingenious and immensely powerful.

Ling Zhenfei grew fonder of the Secret Manuscript as he looked at it and began to cultivate it right away. For someone of his overall strength, as long as he had the Secret Manuscript, cultivation naturally became extremely simple. In no time at all, he had essentially mastered it.

Ling Zhenfei tried to use the Northern Spiritual Energy to control a piece of bamboo leaf. The leaf flew up from the ground to his face and moved through the air as he wished. Just a faint trace of Spiritual Power was enough to command the leaf, which he found quite to his liking.

The Heaven-Splitting Ten Fists had immense power, but they lacked finesse and were overly forceful, each move consuming a great deal of Spiritual Power. He had just executed up to the fifth fist of the Heaven-Splitting Ten Fists, and already half of his body's Spiritual Power was depleted. It should be noted that the Spiritual Power required for the remaining five fists increased exponentially, leading to astonishing consumption.

However, Plucking Leaves and Flying Flowers was different. The amount of Spiritual Power used to control objects around him was significantly less. As long as he wasn't wildly controlling bamboo leaves all over the sky like the Heavenly Net Poisonous Woman had done, he could even engage in an endurance battle with his opponent.

After mastering Plucking Leaves and Flying Flowers, Ling Zhenfei realized that it had grown dark. Knowing it was time to leave, he hurried, understanding that if he left any later, he might not be able to leave at all.

Ling Zhenfei hastily called the chauffeur, who, true to his word, was still waiting for him at the foot of the mountain. Hearing Ling Zhenfei's voice, the chauffeur was quite happy and said he would arrive shortly.

As Ling Zhenfei walked towards the exterior of the villa, crossing the bamboo forest, he reached the first courtyard. To his surprise, he found that lanterns had been lit at the entrance of the shops, which left him somewhat astonished.

He couldn't quite understand who had lit these lanterns. Within Bamboo Forest Villa, aside from the Heavenly Net Poisonous Woman, Ling Zhenfei hadn't seen a single person. Indeed, the situation was quite odd.

Without the time to consider it any further, Ling Zhenfei reached the entrance of the villa and saw the chauffeur had just arrived by car. He got into the car, and the chauffeur drove toward the market district.

"Divine Doctor Ling, did things go smoothly for you this time?" the chauffeur asked tentatively, seeing Ling Zhenfei remained silent in the car.

"It went well, thank you. I apologize for making you wait so late," Ling Zhenfei replied.

The chauffeur smiled and said, "No problem at all, we chauffeurs are used to it. According to the speed we came by, we'll reach the market district by eight o'clock. It's not late."

After calculating the time, Ling Zhenfei asked, "Do you know where there is an Imperial Residence in Capital City?"

Laughing, the chauffeur replied, "Of course. It's a place I reckon all chauffeurs have been to."

Ling Zhenfei was somewhat surprised by this. The address of the Imperial Residence had been given to him by Chen Qian, and his junior apprentice sister was there. He had assumed it was an obscure place but did not expect it to be so well-known.

"What exactly is this place?" he inquired.

"The Imperial Residence is a painting academy. They often hold exhibitions, so we've all been there," explained the chauffeur.

Ling Zhenfei didn't ask Chen Qian about his junior apprentice sister then, so he was clueless about what she did for a living. However, from the chauffeur's words, if the place was a painting academy, then there was a good chance his junior apprentice sister was involved in painting.

Yet, Ling Zhenfei still found it strange. Chen Qian was such a figure, and if he had a junior apprentice sister, she would likely be studying financial management just like him. How could she possibly be painting? What kind of person was their master after all?
