Divine Doctor from the Start of the Eye Mutation

Chapter 476 Punishment

"Village Chief, you'd better hurry with that errand to avoid any backlash from delay,"

After Ling Zhenfei finished speaking, Wang Changhe finally became anxious, thanked Ling Zhenfei profusely, and then drove off toward the village.

Ling Zhenfei sneered inwardly, but deemed the matter trivial; punishing Wang Changhe a bit felt like a good deed.

Returning home, he got into his car and drove to the train station. Today, he would first take the train to Provincial City to deal with the auction matters before heading to Capital City.

Once on the train, heading towards Provincial City, he was unsurprisingly bored alone, so he took out his phone to browse the internet.

The last Weibo post he'd made now had hundreds of thousands of comments, which was quite astonishing.

As Ling Zhenfei idly scrolled through his phone, a girl approached from a nearby seat and whispered, "Excuse me, are you Miracle Doctor Ling Zhenfei?"

Ling Zhenfei was startled at the moment; he hadn't expected to be recognized, and the recognition took him by surprise.

Although Ling Zhenfei had numerous fans on his Weibo, not all celebrities are recognized the same way; some are instantly recognized by their photos but their names elude people, while others have familiar names that don't translate to recognition upon meeting. Ling Zhenfei belonged to the latter category.

Recognition came mainly from videos where Ling Zhenfei was in motion, so one could only get a rough idea of his appearance—the only clear image had been during the live broadcast where he treated Xiao Kunkun. The number of people who could match someone from a video to the person in real life was exceedingly rare.

Ling Zhenfei looked up at the girl in front of him, who seemed to be around twenty, with two dimples showing when she smiled charmingly. Her large, beautiful eyes gazed at Ling Zhenfei with hopeful anticipation.

Ling Zhenfei nodded, "Yes, I am Ling Zhenfei."

He spoke softly, not wishing to cause a commotion. But since the train had seats in rows, even a soft voice was overheard by the person next to him.

"You are Ling Zhenfei!"

This person was even more astonished; who would have thought that riding the train could mean sitting next to a major celebrity? The most embarrassing thing was having been oblivious to it all along.

"Please keep it down," Ling Zhenfei glanced nervously around, dreading a disturbance that could lead to unnecessary trouble.

But it was already too late. A large crowd gathered around in a moment, and phones and cameras were pointed at Ling Zhenfei as if he were a panda on display.

"So you are Ling Zhenfei, so young."

"Why would a big star take the train, and in second class too? Could this be a publicity stunt?"

"Mr. Ling, could you see my uncle for his hemorrhoids? He's been suffering for many years now, and it's quite bad."

"Divine Doctor, could I get your autograph?"

"Divine Doctor, may I take a photo with you?"

"..."

There were too many onlookers for Ling Zhenfei to handle, but he tried to accommodate those asking for autographs, casually posing for photos since he couldn't move anyway. For all other questions, however, he tried his best not to respond, to avoid saying anything wrong that might cause trouble.

The spread of gossip and public attention was incredibly fast, moving from one train car to another in no time. People from other cars started rushing into his car, and soon the entire corridor was packed with people, all trying to get close to Ling Zhenfei.

Ling Zhenfei's head was spinning with frustration, berating himself for forgetting to bring a mask and sunglasses. He had wanted to travel to Provincial City in a low-key manner, but now it seemed impossible to avoid attention.

As the crowd thronged, the train staff sprang into action, attempting to maintain order on the scene. However, they couldn't dampen people's enthusiasm, as queues still formed heading in Ling Zhenfei's direction, with the noise level growing more chaotic.

Just then, a uniformed conductor approached Ling Zhenfei and said, "Mr. Ling Zhenfei, given this situation, and to avoid any danger, our train captain would like you to move to the business class. Would that be possible?"

Ling Zhenfei, seeing the conductor as a lifesaver, quickly responded, "Of course, I couldn't ask for more."

Protected by the conductor, Ling Zhenfei finally reached the business class after passing through two carriages. Inside the business class, with just a few seats, the occupants were successful, affluent individuals who showed no particular reaction to Ling Zhenfei's arrival, and some might not even know who he was.

Ling Zhenfei took his seat and let out a sigh of relief. The same conductor approached him and said, "Hello Mr. Ling, as a railway worker, there's something I must discuss with you."

Ling Zhenfei, unsure of what more could be needed, hastily replied, "Please, go ahead."

The conductor spoke seriously, "As a public figure with many fans, to prevent the kind of unnecessary incident that occurred today, please choose business class when you travel by high-speed rail next time."

Ling Zhenfei was somewhat embarrassed; he hadn't even been aware that the high-speed rail offered business class.

"Alright, young lady, I understand now. I won't be so careless next time," he said.

"Thank you very much for your cooperation, Mr. Ling. I wish you a pleasant journey," the conductor responded.

Once the conductor left, Ling Zhenfei finally relaxed, pulled out his phone, and saw that news of him on the train had spread everywhere. It looked like keeping a low profile was out of the question this time.

His phone suddenly rang; it was Bai Ling calling. Ling Zhenfei hastily answered.

"Ling Zhenfei, you're on the train from Binyang to Capital City, aren't you?"

Ling Zhenfei knew Bai Ling had seen the news too and quickly responded, "Yes, I'm indeed on the train."

"Heading to Provincial City by train?"

"To Provincial City." Ling Zhenfei didn't dare lie about that.

"Hmph, heading to Provincial City and you couldn't even give me a heads-up. What am I to you?" Bai Ling said, sounding annoyed.

But Bai Ling's words left Ling Zhenfei even more confused about their relationship, which seemed to be nothing more than a friendship—and not a long-standing one at that.

"Miss Su, I was worried you were too busy to bother with someone as unimportant as me, so I didn't inform you," Ling Zhenfei tried to explain.

But Bai Ling wasn't having it and retorted angrily, "It's a good thing I saw the news on Weibo. Otherwise, I might have already been on my way to Binyang."

A shocked Ling Zhenfei asked, "What would you be doing in Binyang?"

"What else would I be doing in Binyang? I was going to find you, of course. And once I got there, I wasn't planning on returning anytime soon. I was preparing to stay for a while," she declared.

After hearing this, Ling Zhenfei was taken aback. Bai Ling was the kind of person who could do anything she set her mind to, and if she said she would do it, she would. If Bai Ling came to Binyang, that would be a disaster for him. It seemed it was time to have a serious talk with Bai Ling.
