Super Soldier in Campus

Chapter 65 Danger Approaching! (Second Update)_1

In the evening, inside Classroom 3, Tang Rou approached Lin Feng, who was packing his books. "Lin Feng," she said, "you don't have to attend the last study session tonight..."

Lin Feng started, "Ah..." Just as he was about to ask why, he saw a blurred, shapely figure outside the classroom. Slender and curvy, with an impressive bust and rear—Lin Feng didn't even need to guess to know it was their English teacher, Cao Ying.

"Does Teacher... Cao... need something?" Lin Feng quietly asked Tang Rou.

"The college entrance examination is less than two months away. Teacher Cao said she wants to take us for supper tonight and talk about our upcoming preparation," Tang Rou explained.

Damn, this Cao Ying is really dedicated, Lin Feng thought, glancing again at the stunning figure outside. As a substitute teacher, she's outshining many of the veteran teachers.

In the previous monthly exam, Lin Feng finally hadn't dragged his class down. Quite the contrary, his combined score had, for the first time, surprisingly ranked in the top twenty, earning him the homeroom teacher's award for the most improved student. Of course, the prize itself wasn't much—just a notebook worth about ten yuan. Nevertheless, Lin Feng's performance had completely astonished the teachers who had previously looked down on him.

This was a true "salted fish turning over," as they say. Though Lin Feng wasn't exactly a lost cause, his comeback was spectacular—his scores in every subject had nearly doubled since the last monthly exam! Few people could achieve such a feat, not just in Jiangzhou, but in the entire country. Firstly, you needed to score high on the current monthly exam. Secondly, you had to have performed abysmally on the previous one. Otherwise, how could you double a score of 80 in Math or English when the total score for a subject was only 150?

In summary, Lin Feng's performance in this monthly exam, with its rocket-like ascent, had shattered the school's long-standing record for the largest score difference between two consecutive monthly exams.

Precisely because Lin Feng had excelled, especially with his jaw-dropping English score, the overall average English score of Class 3 instantly increased by about six points, making it the class with the third-highest average English score in the grade! Because of this, Cao Ying, Class 3's English teacher, also reaped the benefits. She was rewarded by the school and praised by her colleagues, giving her an immense sense of accomplishment. Consequently, given Lin Feng's good performance, she hadn't troubled him recently.

With the college entrance exam drawing close, Cao Ying, after some thought, decided to treat the two students under her charge to supper tonight to have a serious discussion about their upcoming preparations.

When Tang Rou and Lin Feng walked out of the classroom, Cao Ying greeted them with a smile. "Alright, tell me what you two want to eat. My treat."

"Teacher Cao, you look particularly good tonight. Anyone who didn't know better might think you were going on a date," Lin Feng quickly complimented upon seeing Cao Ying in a blue t-shirt and tight jeans that perfectly accentuated her flawless figure.

"Aren't I on a date with you two right now? Let's go! What are you staring at?" Cao Ying glared at Lin Feng, then grabbed Tang Rou's arm and walked off ahead, ignoring Lin Feng.

Left out in the cold, Lin Feng could only purse his lips and quickly hurry after them.

"Since you two aren't suggesting anything, I'll take the lead. Let's go to Xuji Barbecue Shop. Their barbecue is great, very authentic," Cao Ying said. Soon, they arrived at Xuji Barbecue Shop, which wasn't far from the school.

The barbecue shop had only a small storefront; the rest of its tables and chairs were set up in an open-air space. Perhaps the owner had some connections, as the local regulatory officers didn't seem to bother them.

"Let's sit outside. It's cooler with the evening breeze..." Cao Ying seemed to be in a remarkably good mood, chattering continuously, which made Tang Rou and Lin Feng exchange surprised glances.

After ordering their food and drinks, they sat down. Lin Feng had initially wanted a beer, but Cao Ying firmly refused. Helpless, Lin Feng had to concede; he had no say in front of Cao Ying.

"Teacher Cao, you're glowing with happiness. Don't tell me you're in love?" Lin Feng teased once they had settled in and the appetizers arrived, all while peeling boiled peanuts and glancing at Cao Ying.

"Love, my foot! Can't even food shut your mouth? If not, then eat more!" Cao Ying shot Lin Feng a fierce glare and, without warning, dumped another plate of boiled peanuts onto his. "You're not allowed to speak until you've finished all these peanuts..."

"Uh..." Lin Feng was taken aback. He opened his mouth to say something but, remembering Cao Ying had forbidden him to speak, he had to keep his mouth shut.

TEE-HEE... Seeing this, Tang Rou, who had been silent until then, couldn't help but giggle.

Watching the normally rebellious Lin Feng now sitting obediently silent, Cao Ying smiled, pleased with herself. Helping Lin Feng achieve such a significant improvement in his academics since her arrival in Jiangzhou was what Cao Ying considered her greatest accomplishment.

"I called you two out today not just for a meal. I have something important to say, so listen carefully. Tang Rou, you just need to stay focused; overall, you should be fine. It's mainly Lin Feng. From now on, you are not allowed to sleep in class, understand? The homeroom teacher has reported this to me many times!"

"Hey... Lin Feng, why are you staring at me? Didn't you hear what I said?" Cao Ying asked, annoyed when she saw Lin Feng remaining silent.

Lin Feng spread his hands innocently. "Teacher Cao, you told me not to speak..."

"You...! You're disobedient when I ask you to listen, but when I tell you *not* to do something, you become incredibly obedient. You're doing this just to annoy me, aren't you? Alright, you can speak now!" With that, Cao Ying moved the plate piled high with boiled peanuts away from Lin Feng.

"Teacher Cao, why did the homeroom teacher tell *you* about me sleeping in class?" Lin Feng asked. He was curious. If he were sleeping in class, the homeroom teacher should speak to him directly, not to Cao Ying. What was the point of telling her? Could Cao Ying possibly have more authority than his homeroom teacher?

At his words, Cao Ying's expression became a little awkward. She recalled what the homeroom teacher had said to her the other day: Teacher Cao, there's something strange about Lin Feng. He doesn't listen to me or the other teachers, but he's surprisingly obedient to you... Thinking about that, and also recalling how Lin Feng had just stayed silent simply because she had told him to, Cao Ying couldn't help but glance at Lin Feng, suddenly feeling a bit closer to him.

"It's not that strange... I—I'm the teacher the school assigned to be responsible for you, so I can manage anything concerning you. I told you not to sleep in class anymore, got it, you big sleepyhead?" Cao Ying pouted cutely, looking at Lin Feng.

So chilling! Lin Feng thought. This is bad!

A sudden gust of cold wind blew past. Lin Feng, whose military training had honed his intuition for danger, instantly sensed an approaching threat!

He whipped his head around to look far behind them and immediately saw six menacing-looking men approaching from the sidewalk!
