Chapter 129: Pack of Wild Wolves [Third Update]_1

In the two small bags up front, besides the three items Ye Lin had discarded, a few bottles of water, some packs of instant noodles, and a few bags of chips, there was basically nothing else, which left Lin Feng somewhat disappointed.

"Bro, my bag! There's money in my bag! I'll give you the money, just let me go, okay?" the man in the leather jacket, bound in the distance, pleaded with Lin Feng.

Lin Feng shot him an annoyed look. "This bag is mine now. What do you mean, 'you give it to me'? That sounds awful. Now, stay put!"

Saying so, he unzipped the largest of the bags.

"Holy crap!"

Once he opened it, it was absolutely full of money!

"I'm rich! Haha, there's at least several hundred thousand here!" Lin Feng laughed. Having come to the training base, Lin Feng had been worried about not having any money to spend. He hadn't expected God to be so good to him, sending several hundred thousand his way just like that.

Seeing Lin Feng's ecstatic dance, Ye Lin remained expressionless. She even looked at Lin Feng's almost manic laughter with a hint of disdain.

This guy is lecherous, greedy, and shameless... I have no idea how he was raised. Looking at Lin Feng, Ye Lin could only shake her head.

"Hey, I'm a fair guy. Ye Lin, this money, how about we split it fifty-fifty?" Lin Feng said, glancing around as he spoke to Ye Lin.

Ye Lin knew what Lin Feng was thinking and said, "Don't pretend to be generous. You're only offering to share because your backpack can't hold all this cash, right?"

"Hey, don't judge a gentleman by your own petty standards, okay? Do you really think I'd offer you this money if we weren't teammates? Otherwise, I'd use it to wipe my ass! Hmph!"

Lin Feng spoke with the typical air of someone who'd suddenly struck it rich.

Hearing this, the fatty and the skinny man beside them exchanged glances, wondering inwardly, Wipe his ass with money? Wouldn't that be scratchy?

"How vulgar!" Ye Lin glared at Lin Feng. "If that's how you feel, then you can take this money and wipe your... whatever. I don't want it." With that, she turned her head away.

In fact, it was only several hundred thousand. To Ye Lin, it wasn't a significant sum. In any case, she felt that lugging it all over the mountains and ridges would be too burdensome for such a paltry amount.

Lin Feng hadn't expected Ye Lin to view money as mere dirt; he was suddenly at a loss. He couldn't afford to lose a single cent of it!

"Hmph, if you don't want it, I'm more than happy to take it all!" Lin Feng pursed his lips. It was fine by him if she didn't want it. He slung the large backpack full of money onto his back. From his original backpack, he took out only some water and food, discarding everything else he deemed unnecessary.

Seeing this, Ye Lin shook her head again. Just how greedy can this guy be? she thought.

After securing the backpack full of money, Lin Feng's gaze fell upon the last small bag. Since he'd taken it, he naturally had to open it and see what was inside. Lin Feng's principle was to never let any potential gain slip through his fingers.

He unzipped it but found nothing inside. So, he turned the backpack upside down and shook it over the ground. A jade-like object fell out.

The object was shaped like a dragon and was entirely greenish. Lin Feng knew nothing about jade, so he couldn't tell if it was valuable.

"Hey, what's this?" Lin Feng waggled the dragon-shaped jade and asked the man in the leather jacket.

"It's just an ordinary piece of jade. We took it from an ancient tomb during our last... outing. We had it appraised, and they said it was a low-grade piece, practically worthless. That's why it was still in the bag..." the man in the leather jacket replied. "Bro, do you like jade? Tell you what, if you let us go, I know of an ancient prince's tomb. It's full of good jade. How about we go for it together and split it fifty-fifty?"

"Damn, a leopard can't change its spots..." Hearing the man's words, Lin Feng was speechless.

A worthless piece of jade? But why does it look like a dragon... Lin Feng stared at the dragon-shaped jade. Somehow, holding it in his hand, he felt a strange sensation, though he couldn't pinpoint what it was. This thing seems a bit odd. Maybe it's some kind of treasure.

Lin Feng pursed his lips, then curiously tucked the dragon-shaped jade away on his person. Then, he rummaged through the other three bags one more time. After confirming there was nothing else of value, he finally stood up.

"Are you done yet? Are you going to take these three empty backpacks with you to sell for money too?" Seeing Lin Feng rummaging around, Ye Lin, who had been waiting nearby, grew impatient and taunted him.

"Sigh, you rich girls just don't understand the life of us poor folk..." Lin Feng stood up, affecting a profound air, shook his head, and walked straight ahead.

How tedious! Seeing Lin Feng's eccentric behavior, Ye Lin was rendered speechless.

Of course, the most speechless of all were the four men. The treasures they'd obtained from tomb raiding had led to them accidentally killing someone, forcing them to flee into the Giant Wood Forest to lie low and divide their spoils. They never expected to run into Lin Feng and Ye Lin. Not only were they tied up, but they also had to watch helplessly as Lin Feng took away their "hard-earned money." They were on the verge of tears, utterly dismayed.

Having obtained a pennant, Lin Feng and Ye Lin had essentially completed their basic mission. Furthermore, Lin Feng had also acquired a backpack full of cash and a mysterious dragon-shaped jade. So, the two of them quickly headed north, following the compass.

A few hours later, the sky darkened. The light within the Giant Wood Forest grew exceptionally dim. Though it wasn't even six in the evening, darkness had already fallen upon the forest.

"We're almost at the summit. Tonight, we'll definitely have to camp on the other side of this mountain. Then, first thing tomorrow morning, we'll rush to the assembly point... Hey, hey, hey! Listen to me, will you? Don't walk so fast!" Lin Feng panted as he spoke, but Ye Lin ignored him and kept walking.

"Who asked *me* to carry so much stuff? Serves me right!" Lin Feng muttered without turning his head.

The two of them walked for some distance further in the dim surroundings. By now, night had completely fallen.

"We need to find a place to sleep," Lin Feng said, catching up to Ye Lin.

"Shh!" Ye Lin, who was walking ahead, suddenly stopped. She quietly gestured for Lin Feng to be silent and then pointed her slender finger straight forward.

Lin Feng followed her gaze. Ahead, in front of a large rocky hill, four golden glints in the dim light were staring right at them!

Lin Feng was all too familiar with this sight—wolves!

As night fell, the wolves emerged to roam. In the Giant Wood Mountain range, their howls could occasionally be heard—terrifying sounds that would scare anyone walking alone in these woods half to death!

"Huh, just two wolves? A piece of cake!" Seeing that the two wolves weren't very large, Lin Feng relaxed. As the former "Wolf King" of the White Wolf squad, he was confident he could handle two ordinary wolves.

Ye Lin said nothing, but pointed towards a massive boulder in the distance.

Lin Feng looked where she pointed, and his blood ran cold!

On that distant massive boulder, countless pairs of golden wolf eyes were glinting, all fixed on them. From the looks of it, there were at least a hundred wolves!
