Oh, Sister-in-law, it's not that I, Li Wenwen, deliberately wanted to throw you to the wolves. I really meant to help you, but you didn't take my hand. Now, you can't blame me for whatever unspeakable things happen next.
Of the three people at the meal, two ate with great awkwardness. Only Sun Dasheng ate heartily. After eating his fill, he gave Li Wenwen a meaningful glance.
Li Wenwen certainly knew what he meant. She glanced guiltily at her sister-in-law, who had finished her meal and was now looking down at her phone.
Good luck getting pregnant! she wished silently.
Then she stood up. "Is everyone finished? I'm going to go settle the bill. Please wait here and don't leave yet. There's tea and some small desserts coming."
"So that's why they call it a teahouse. They actually serve tea," Sun Dasheng remarked. "Go on, then. We're not in a hurry."
Li Wenwen understood his hidden meaning: *Go pay the bill, and don't rush back.*
"Right, I got it." She turned and left.
Before long, the door to the private room opened, and servers filed in. They cleaned the tabletop spotlessly, then laid out a spread of desserts and a large pot of tea. After pouring tea for the guests, they filed out of the room in an orderly fashion.
Watching them leave, Sun Dasheng clicked his tongue. "The waitstaff here is top-notch. No wonder your father-in-law and his friends like to come here."
"What father-in-law? Don't talk nonsense. I haven't even married Li Feng yet." With her sister-in-law gone, Xie Moyao dropped her guard and spoke more freely.
"Ah, but aren't you two getting married soon? My comment shouldn't be a problem, right?" Sun Dasheng feigned a surprised expression.
"Just keep teasing me," Xie Moyao said, giving his thigh a light pinch. It had little force and barely fazed Sun Dasheng, but he still pretended to be in great pain. "Ouch! Are you trying to murder your husband?"
"Hmph! And who was it just now that said I was someone else's wife? This isn't murdering one's husband. This is upholding justice and vanquishing evil!" Xie Moyao retorted huffily. She seemed very displeased at being referred to as another man's wife, even though it was technically true. She still hated hearing him say it.
"Wenwen was right here, and you had your hands all over me. If she had actually seen us, I'd like to see how you would've gotten out of that," she said, still hung up on the earlier incident.
Seeing her annoyed face, Sun Dasheng just smiled and reached out to pinch her cheek.
"What are you doing? Wenwen could be back any second! Stop feeling me up." Xie Moyao glanced frantically toward the door and tried to slap his hand away, but he caught her wrist in mid-air. With a gentle pull, she found herself sitting on his lap.
"What are you doing? Let me down!" The fine hairs on her neck stood on end as her panicked eyes fixed on the tightly shut door. The man, however, acted as if he hadn't heard a thing. One of his hands drifted over her high nose bridge, long eyelashes, and delicate, willow-leaf brows.
She instinctively closed her eyes, and a moment later, she felt a warmth on her lips.
"Mmm... don't do this..."
Her resistance lasted only a few seconds before she surrendered completely. What's more, she even took the initiative, wrapping her arms around his neck and kissing him back passionately.
After the intense kiss, Xie Moyao panted softly, recalling her body's reaction. Her face flushed a deeper shade of red. What was happening to her? She had clearly intended to resist, so how did she fall right into his trap? It was so irrational. An inexplicable force was drawing her in, pulling her under.
No, I can't do this! It took all of her willpower to push his head away.
Sun Dasheng didn't speak, just stared at her with a faint, knowing smile playing on his lips.
"Don't look at me like that. We really can't go on like this. I'm getting married soon. I'll be a married woman. What we're doing... it's immoral."
"So, should I leave?" Sun Dasheng shrugged.
"Don't!" Xie Moyao subconsciously tightened her grip on his neck.
"Then what is it you want? You won't let me go, but if I stay, you say it's immoral. What do you want from me?"
"I... I..." Xie Moyao's mind was a complete mess. She truly didn't know what to do. Reason told her to get off his lap and let go immediately. But a little devil on her shoulder kept egging her on: What are you afraid of? Just kiss him! Go on... Why are you overthinking it? Who cares about forever? All that matters is right now.
Caught in her indecision, the man in front of her made the choice for her.
He leaned in suddenly, and the warm, soft touch of his lips met hers again. This time, her chin was pricked slightly by his stubble. When the kiss ended, she frowned.
"What's wrong?" Sun Dasheng asked gently.
"You pricked me," Xie Moyao whined playfully.
Sun Dasheng understood the real meaning behind her words. He immediately began to fumble with her cumbersome clothing.
"Don't!" Xie Moyao stopped him.
"What now?" he asked, a hint of annoyance in his voice.
Xie Moyao sighed. "Can we please not do it here?"
Sun Dasheng glanced around the room. "Are you afraid of cameras? You're worrying too much. I checked when I came in. The room is clean. None of that stuff is here."
"Is that what I'm talking about?" she fumed, slightly angry that he was so obviously beating around the bush.
"Alright, I know what you're worried about," he relented. "You're afraid your sister-in-law, Li Wenwen, is going to walk in, right?"
Sun Dasheng lifted the beauty in his arms and gently placed her on the solid wood table. As he began to undress her, he explained, "Li Wenwen just sent me a text. She said something urgent came up and she has to step out for a bit. She'll be back later and told us not to worry."
