"Careful."
Saquin held up the staggering Pear.
"You are a Divine?" This time she posed it as a question.
"Yep." Saquin nodded as he tilted his head to wink at Star.
She was getting out of a small crater, and she and her classmates were jumbled up there.
When he raised the ruins, he had seen the Dark Prince at their center, so he took it that he was the reason for their survival.
He had no doubt that Fire would have easily survived, but the rest. He was not so sure of their chances.
Even Star who he could tell was relative in strength to them would not have escaped unscathed, this was the advantage of the Fighter Type. More durability, faster reaction to threat and way better defense options or technique.
At the end of the day though, who was he to make assumptions. He might be relative to them in strength but that does not mean his knowledge about what they can and not do was reliable. Especially since he was an uneducated bum.
"Figures." Star flashed him a smile as a response. She walked up to them and to Pear , she said. "It should have been obvious, his strength is just too exaggerated."
"Yea? But he could have been a Supreme Bloodline Pinnacle just like you." Pear shook her head.
"True. But my point about it being obvious still stands." Star nodded but refused to yield. "I mean, his looks, temperament and aura. It feels like being in the presence of a higher species around him."
"Oh, come on. It is not that exaggerated." Saquin rolled his eyes.
"Actually, it is." Pear burst his bubble.
Saquin was taken aback. "Whose side are you on?"
"Mine." Pear glared at him, her reverence subsidizing. "That is why I am going to say that Supreme Bloodline Pinnacle has the same feeling to them. Just like you." She faced Star again.
"No, we don't." Star denied. "No, I don't."
"Yea, I don't think she has it." Saquin nodded at that.
Pear was taken aback. "Whose side are you on?"
"Mine." Saquin glared at her with a smirk.
"Okay... okay, enough of the bickering." Nate and co had stepped out of the small crater and were now surveying their surroundings.
"Thanks for the assist." He said to Saquin.
"No problem, I guess." Saquin shrugged. "It isn't like you could not have gotten out on your own."
"Yea, but you saved us the trouble." Nate nodded. "So, what is the situation like?"
"I don't know." Saquin shrugged. "I took care of the small fries... taking care of them." He corrected himself as he looked around at the constantly attacking weaponized pieces of the ruin. "The big fishes are still fighting." He pointed at the ever expanding battlefield of the top Empowered figures.
Slowly, but surely, the whole city was being engulfed in the relentless battle.
Carefully looking at the fight, Saquin noted that calling it a battle was nothing but generous.
The only one fighting in this scenario was apparently Hank who is holding down more than just the Kristen trio, other Empowered had joined in to put the big man down.
The other top cities Empowered were in not such a graceful situation. For them, it was more of a chase down rather than a battle. An effective chase down as they were dropping by the minute.
He also noted that those involved in the fights were not only those that were in the Facility when it was bombed, but also other top officials and powerful individuals that were present in the city.
"Well, this does not look like a heist anymore." Saquin frowned at the chaos.
"That is because it isn't." Fire spoke up at this point. "There are now three different organizations present at the scene."
"Three?" Saquin blinked.
"Yes, those that carried out the heist. In other words, that lady Kristen's group." He pointed at Hank's battlefield. "Then, there are the rebels who are a large part of the pursuing and destroying group."
"A rebellion?" Saquin arched a brow. "Of what?"
"Who knows?" Fire held his hands up to show that even he had no idea. "They practically only exist and operate in this part of the galaxy, so not much is known about them back at the central sector."
"Oh, okay." Saquin nodded in understanding. "Plus, I take it they are not much of a threat?"
"Yea, the government and royal families have more pressing matters at hand than some rag tag bunch of sobbing savages." Kentra was the one who answered.
"Yea, that." Fire continued. "For the last part, they are the main reason why these bunch are on this mission. In fact, they are the mission. The mission to look into the secret organization, The Seven Fever. Well, specifically their activity on this planet."
"The Tier 2 Access?" Saquin asked.
"Oh that was my mission, not theirs. Even though I am here for supervision, I can't waste my time here. And they could provide a bit of a helping hand to deal with it." Fire replied patiently.
"Oh, I see." Saquin could now slowly see the whole picture, just it was still incomplete.
"Amongst these groups here, The Seven Fever are the strongest. They were also the ones who most likely activated the Access Replicator after inferring the plans of the organization carrying out the heist." Fire stated down his thoughts.
"This move created a distraction, temporarily throwing you guys off their trail." Saquin stated.
"Yep."
"Using the opportunity of the evacuation their main or indispensable members would be long gone by now. This move also inevitably forced the heist organization to move their heist further, considering most of the individuals that could stop them were gathered in the Facility." A smile slowly crept up Saquin's face as he tied it all together.
"Spot on." Fire readily agreed with Saquin's deduction.
"Not to mention the chances of you guys dying in the explosion, the city would be lit ablaze and practically destroyed by the end of all this. Good luck finding information about them then." Saquin concluded.
"That should practically be the sum of events." Fire nodded at Saquin's deduction.
"Woah, are you guys detectives or something?" Nate praised the duo.
"Detectives?" Saquin raised a brow. "Those are basic deductions that a ten year old kid is capable of doing. And it is not confirmed information, so there is nothing detective about it."
"Ah...." Nate tried to open his mouth a couple times before he slumped his shoulder. "I was just complimenting you."
"Oh, you were? I didn't realize. My bad, sorry." Saquin scratched the back of his head.
"Yea, no problem." Nate waved it off. "Anyways, let's get back to pressing matters. What do we do now?"
"Assist the big guy to kill off these guys. Then, wait till the Access opens, which should be any minute now. Clear the threat, then we live happily ever after. Well, after I take Star on a date though." Saquin listed off things as he held up his fingers.
"You are taking me on a date?"
"You are taking her on a date?"
"What Access?!!"
The three questions came at the same time. The first was that of Star, then Pear's came next. The last was echoed by everyone else.
"Definitely." He flashed Star a smile. Then, "the Tier 3 Access."
"That was a false alarm caused by the Access Replicator." Samantha gently said, as if afraid to be wrong.
"Nah, it was real. The Access Replicator just happens to cause the magical spatial damage that fastened its formation." Saquin corrected.
"Wait what, that's impossible." Kentra shook his head vigorously.
"No offence, but how are you sure of this?" Samantha asked with indignation.
"I am a Divine." Saquin gave a short answer.
A short irrefutable answer.
Silence descended amongst them as a grim look showcased on each of their faces. Strangely, Star was not the least bit concerned, she was completely in her own world. Probably already planning out the date.
At this point, a doubt was already creeping up Saquin's spine.
Wait, I never really focused on the lethality of Accesses did I?
"But, are you sure it is a Tier 3?" Nate asked, he was the only other person who could still maintain his composure.
"Well, the fact you are not feeling the Senar disruption yet says it is of a high Access Tier. And since there are no tell tale signs of a Tier 4. It should definitely be a 3." Saquin explained.
"Well, fuck." Nate took a deep breath and cursed. A Tier 3 Access with the chaos at hand... everybody is doomed.
"What is our next course of action?" Samantha asked with a shiver in her voice.
"What else? We run." Nate concluded.
"That might be a tad bit too late." Saquin doused the fire before it lit up.
"Why?" Nate did not get to ask the question completely before he completely understood.
A huge wave of Senar swept up the surroundings, invigorating everyone with life. But with that gift came a primal fear for the weak minded and irritation for the strong.
Saquin felt nothing.
The sky above the city and a couple more kilometers out took on a red hue.
A loud bang resounded through the whole city as the sky lit up.
Then.
My blood has flown through the river of the source,
Now, it has become a source,
To you,
A source of joy..
To me,
A source of sustenance...
The system popped up in front of every Empowered present and resounded the last sentence.
[ Welcome to the playground of blood. ]
