Unliving-Living

Chapter 37: [ 01: 00: 00 ] to [ 02: 00: 00 ]

"You know, I still don't know why we attacked two Adept level government agents." Simons picked up his burger but placed it down back.

"Who?" Saquin looked up from his Comm.

"Giant and Shadow Agent." Simons replied with an attitude. Who else?

"Oh, them?" Saquin started. "They were spying on us. Shalis told me before she left."

"She did?"

"Yeah, through telepathic communication." Saquin nodded.

"Oh?" Simons was speechless. It seems Saquin was an entirely different breed from him. His capabilities are things he could only imagine and not begin to comprehend albeit do.

"But wait, I still don't think they were wrong for doing that actually. They are government agents, Empowered agents, they were tasked with monitoring Empowered activities. So, they would definitely check on the trio that suddenly teleported into the center of the city."

"Oh, I know." Saquin simply said and returned to watching his match.

"What?!" Simons was frozen in shock for a couple seconds before he snapped out of it. "You.. know this and still attack them? Why?"

"Hmm, just felt like it." Saquin replied without looking up from his Comm.

Simons mouth hung open for a while.

Never meet your heroes.

He concluded internally. He had always idolized young stars like Saquin. Heir to a huge organization or family, born with all the privileges but also possessed the corresponding talent and strength to be where they belonged. Not just that, they do not act so arrogantly and pompously like those small-time young masters.

People like the golden prince.

It seems that all their respective condition makes them act differently from the other young masters, like Saquin here who is just...

Or,

Saquin was just a weird one.

Just then, a question popped up in his head.

"Wait, did the duo not see Miss Shalis leave?" He could not understand how it would be possible for the duo to fight against Saquin, even if he was the attacker, if they knew such a powerhouse was behind him.

"Nope. Shalis supposedly disrupted the Senar usage of the vicinity after we teleported. So, their observational skills would not have worked. In a sense, they could not even see us after we arrived." Saquin, done with his food, had picked up his Comm and was scrolling through contents.

Simons eyes narrowed. "You mean... they weren't even able to spy on us."

"A failed attempt." Saquin nodded absentmindedly. He was engrossed in his Comm, he had never had such access to the net before.

"You are... insane." Simons concluded.

"Probably." Saquin shrugged.

"You attacked them for the fun of it." Simons still could not believe it. "The other guys too.. you were really looking for chaos."

"I guess." Saquin finally placed down his Comm. "I came to the city to squander a lot of credits, but the call earlier made me realize that my view on money, or at least the value of credits, is screwed. I cannot get any satisfaction from spending my fortune here. There is just so much I could spend on here, on this rather rural planet."

"So?"

"So, I changed my goal. I became an Empowered recently, so-"

"Wait, how recent?" Simons interrupted.

"This month." Saquin replied curtly.

"Damn, this month. Already at the Mid-Level, let me guess, the double advancement?" Simons shook his head in bewilderment.

"Yea, I guess. Anyway, as I was saying, I became an Empowered recently, so I am quite curious about the general Empowered world." Saquin continued.

"So, you decided to sate your curiosity by getting into fights." Simons deducted.

"Exactly." Saquin nodded.

"Fights with people above your level." Simons raised an eyebrow.

"They bring the challenge... especially in areas like this."

"You are a mad man."

"I guess." Saquin shrugged as he got up and went to order more food.

"Ah!" Simons signed out loud as he dug his face into his food.

"Eat quick, we got to get you a change of clothes. You look too delivery drivery." Saquin's voice came over then.

---

Fashion District.

A sleek black tired-sportscar pulled over to the front of a three story building.

The building was a hub of fashion as each customer and personnel that walked in and out were dripped out to the fullest. This building happened to be the third most prestigious fashion store in the whole planet and the most prestigious in the city.

"Almost two hours gone."

Saquin got out of the car with his usual cold but gentle flair.

Simons tried to mirror his actions but failed miserably.

Fuck it... Fuck this.

He cursed to himself. He could not believe he had tripped at this moment.

"Let's get you out of those rags." Saquin said as he passed the car keys to the valet.

Simons looked like shit to him. Saquin, even as a slave, had always paid attention to what he wore. He had made sure to always look good, not necessarily prim and proper or clean, but fashionable.

Simons was dressed in the delivery driver uniform, which he found rather distasteful, to make it worse, it had gotten torn in multiple places. A result of the battles he kept on dragging the guy into, but still.

He, on the other hand, had the [ Feathered Royalty ], so he now would always look clean no matter how messy the situation. Plus, he would not like to brag, but the fit as a whole looked very cool, unique too.

"Okay, okay, I get it." Simons rolled his eyes as he caught up to Saquin. "You know, I still do not understand why we had to steal the car, with your wealth you could have easily bought one."

"It was faster this way." Saquin smirked. "Plus, it was Shadow Agent's car. That is what he gets for grinning at me."

"It is Shadow..." Simons took a deep breath and decided to drop the matter.

Just then.

A mild commotion drew their attention.

Some distance away, a young master was getting his ass handed to him after he tried to humiliate a young man on the street.

"People are weird." Saquin muttered.

"Yep." Simons nodded. If he was agreeing because of the sight or due to an entirely different matter, we would never know.

"Hey."

Saquin turned to his side to see a stunning sight.

A young beauty had walked up to him.

"You are quite good looking." She complimented him.

"Thanks." Saquin smiled. "Could say the same to you too, but just good won't do you justice."

She giggled lightly at his comment.

"Nice to meet you." She stretched out her hand.

"Yes, milady." Saquin took her hand and placed a gentle kiss on it, imitating the move he had seen the captain pull multiple times.

"Why are you flirting with this random?" A new voice butt into the interaction.

Saquin looked up to see another young beauty walk over.

"Hey you, handsome devil. Do you think your face card gives you the right to kiss the hands of an esteemed HATA Academy student?" She practically spat in Saquin's face.

"HATA? Never heard of it." Saquin tilted his head.

"What?! You have not heard of the most prestigious Academy in the universe?" She shrank back in shock.

"The most prestigious? Woah! Then, why are its students so weak?" Saquin asked with innocence written over his face.

"Ha." Simons signed. "Here we go again."

Boom!!!
