The whole atmosphere of the room shifted as the king sharpened his gaze.

"A revival you say?"

"Yes, it might be nothing," Adam said. "But I wouldn't know what their planning."

Veyra just glanced at his direction, but she didn't say anything.

The King just studied him silently for a bit, and then leaned back on his throne. "I see, well regardless your actions have prevented many prodigies from dying and you also stopped the gate. The crown will surely reward you through the guild."

Adam just slightly bowed. "I shall accept the crowns reward, your Majesty."

But the king wasn't finished.

"But... this situation is troubling." He said, his gaze growing colder. "It seems like their making a move again, they haven't acted for many centuries. And they have someone backing them."

The king's projection showed a faint shimmering pulse, it was as if he was sensing something even deeper. "I'm sure you might have encountered this darkness before, haven't you, boy?"

Adam didn't flinch but he was getting annoyed. "I'll just say that this isn't the first time I've seen something like this."

The king's gaze lingered on him for a moment. "I see."

"Then I shall issue you a royal decree, this one isn't bound by the Academy's restrictions. You'll be operating under the royal seal, through Veyra's guild."

The was a ripple of murmurs in the hall, the guild heals were also whispering amongst themselves.

This was an independent mission that was under royal authority, and it was no small matter.

This demonstrated an acknowledgement of capability.

Veyra just inclined her head slightly, she was hiding a faint smirk. "Understood, Your Majesty."

"Good. I expected results soon then"

The king's projection would flicker for a moment and the vanish, it leaves the whole room in heavy silence.

Adam looked at Veyra. "I guess I don't have a choice, huh?"

She just smiled faintly. "Haha, you never did."

Adam's gaze swept across the room and lingered on his former father before turning back and leaving the room.

Later That Night – Adam's Dorm

Adam was standing outside his dorms balcony, the academy lights were stretching far below.

"Sigh, seems like things will get a bit more hectic."

He would summon his system interface and look over the two items he purchased in the system shop.

Summoning then from his inventory he held both of them in his hand.

"Seems like I'll need to speed up by plans a bit."

Adam looked at the elixir that was glowing faintly in his hand, it was swirling with colors that shouldn't even exist.

There was silver that blended into black, gold that was pulsing like a living heart, and there were streaks of crimson that were coiling and uncoiling like serpents.

Adam then swallowed the elixir in one gulp.

A pulse stir.

The elixir would hit his stomach, and then it acted.

The was a thunderous impact the burst across Adam's body, it was as if molten silver was being poured directly into his veins.

He staggered a bit, he gripped his bed sheets as the heat was surging through him, it was so violent that the air shimmering.

His heart started to hammer.

Twice.

And then the third one was echoing loudly.

Then everything around him stopped.

The world around him was fading, the was a second heartbeat that stirred.

This one wants his, it was ancient and powerful. It was answering something deep within his soul.

His bones were cracking, and this wasn't from them breaking, it was from them unlocking something deeper.

Adam's vision went black.

Then was a bright light that was blinding.

There was a roar that wasn't hear by his ears, it was deep in his soil that shook him to the core.

Violet mana strands were coiling beneath his skin, they were fusing with golden light that was erupting from his body.

He would collapse to his knees.

His veins were glowing silver, his mana core was twisting violently, it was compressing and reforging.

There was a presence that was uncoiling inside him, it was ancient, vast and also powerful.

A voice was whispering not in words, but with ancient instinct:

"The heir awakens... the seal weakened."

Adam wanted to scream but the sound didn't leave his throat.

His body was convulsing as his frame was struggling to contain this ancient power.

His heart was pounding faster and faster until it wasn't that of a normal dragon heart, it was like a primordial create that existed before civilization.

The Surge of mana burst out his body, the floor cracked around him.

He opened his eyes.

They were gold and yellow, these colors swirled inside his pupils like living flames.

He exhaled frost, his skin flowing with faint draconic sigils, they appeared for a moment before they vanished into his skin.

The process was complete, he awakened his bloodline.

Adam stood up and the air was recoiling all around him.

His presence was even heavier and more commanding.

There was a single phrase that was drifting across his mid, it was like an echo of a memory that didn't belong to him:

"You have awakened child, your blood remembers, this is only the beginning."

Adam took a deep breath, taking everything in.

His power didn't just grow, it has evolved. Now unrestricted, it was now unbound.
