The Extra Villain: I Made a Contract With The Dragon Empress!

Chapter 131: A Messy Morning

Morning...

"Ugh…"

Merlin felt something heavy pressing down on him. His eyelids fluttered slowly before finally opening.

"What happened? Who's trying to kill me?" He groaned softly as he turned his head toward his stomach.

In an instant, his drowsiness vanished, replaced by utter shock.

"Luna?"

It was Luna on top of him. The girl was lying on his body, hugging his stomach tightly. Her face was pressed against his chest, and a happy smile bloomed on her lips.

Merlin felt his heart beating fast, but he quickly suppressed it.

"[Tsk! What a beautiful morning, isn't it? If things like this keep happening, I'll start doubting your vow not to conquer Luna Tharot.]"

The system's playful voice echoed in his mind. Merlin fell silent.

It wasn't his intention to make her sleep on top of him, okay?

But he knew the system was just teasing him. No matter how he explained it, the system wouldn't believe him.

Letting out a small sigh, he tried to remove Luna's hold from his body.

But it turned out to be difficult. Luna was very strong and didn't want to let go.

Reluctantly, he increased his strength, and unintentionally, it woke the girl up.

"M-mmm…" Luna let out a soft moan as she slowly opened her eyes. "What happened? Who woke me up?"

She rubbed her heavy eyes.

"Ahem! You're on top of me. Can you move?"

The familiar voice came from in front of her, instantly clearing the rest of her sleepiness.

She lifted her head and saw Merlin's face just twenty centimeters away from hers.

Then she realized her body was on top of him. In an instant, her face turned as red as an apple, and she screamed loudly, "Kya! You pervert!"

She slapped Merlin's right cheek, but the boy had already anticipated the attack.

Quickly, he grabbed her wrist and scolded her, "What are you doing? Calling me a pervert and trying to slap me? Watch who did it first!"

His words snapped Luna out of her embarrassment. She looked back at her position and found she was on top of his body—and on his bed.

Her face flushed again, and she hurriedly moved away to her own bed.

"I... I'm sorry," she said nervously, panicked.

White smoke seemed to rise from her face. She didn't expect to do something so rude to Merlin.

She was the one who made the mistake, yet she was also the one who got angry—almost even slapping him.

If there were a crack in the floor right now, she would have stuck her face in it so he wouldn't see her.

Merlin sighed softly. Fortunately, he often saw scenes like this in the anime he watched, so he could predict it easily.

"I forgive you, but don't do it again," he replied indifferently.

Luna felt the anger in his voice, and guilt rose inside her again.

"Merlin, I..." She was about to say something, but Merlin had already gotten out of bed, grabbed a towel, and gone to the bathroom.

Watching him disappear behind the door, Luna bit her lower lip and whispered sadly, "I really messed up…"

Merlin and Luna walked out of their room and headed to the first floor for breakfast.

Since they were leaving today, Merlin didn't mind having breakfast at the inn's restaurant.

As they descended the stairs, they encountered two soldiers in silver armor coming up.

"Have you heard the news about the two spies? I heard they still haven't been caught," one of them said.

"Yeah, I heard that too. But it's fine—more soldiers will arrive soon. If those two spies are still in the city, they'll be found," the other replied.

Merlin's and Luna's hearts pounded, and their bodies stiffened slightly. But they tried to remain calm and walked past the soldiers.

"Hm?" The first soldier suddenly stopped and stared at Luna with a confused look.

"What's wrong, friend?" his comrade asked.

The soldier paused for a moment before shaking his head. "It's nothing. Maybe I was just imagining things."

His comrade blinked curiously but said nothing and continued up the stairs.

Meanwhile, Merlin and Luna reached the restaurant and immediately ordered their breakfast.

Since it was included in the initial payment, they didn't need to spend any extra on food.

"Merlin," Luna called, her head slightly bowed. "About what happened earlier, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to hurt you. It was my own stupidity, and I admit it."

Before this, she would've never apologized to anyone, even if it was her fault.

That was also something that sometimes annoyed her friends.

But she never cared. She was the daughter of the Duke Tharot family, and it was natural for others to apologize first.

Yet for some reason, this time she couldn't do it. She was afraid that Merlin would hold a grudge against her, and she didn't want that to happen.

It was the first time she had ever felt this way, and it confused her.

Nonetheless, she didn't give in to her pride and chose to apologize.

Merlin was slightly surprised, but only for a moment. Considering Luna's deep affection for him, it was normal for her to apologize.

"It's okay. Don't worry about it," he replied casually.

Luna felt relieved, but at the same time, his answer didn't completely calm her.

She wanted to say something when a waiter arrived with the food they had ordered.

"Excuse me," the waiter said politely as he placed their dishes one by one.

Merlin ordered a piece of grilled wild beef, baked potatoes, and a glass of orange juice.

Meanwhile, Luna ordered lighter food like chicken thighs and vegetables, along with a glass of orange juice and a glass of water.

"Thank you," Merlin replied softly.

The waiter smiled and gave a small nod before walking away.

Without saying anything else, Merlin immediately started eating.

Luna opened her mouth but closed it again. In the end, she turned her attention to her food and began eating as well.

Fifteen minutes later, they finished breakfast, returned the room key to the receptionist, and walked out.

The morning air felt fresh, making both of them feel better.

"What are we going to do now?" Luna asked.

Merlin was silent for a moment before replying, "Let's walk around first. According to the information I got, the intercity horse-drawn carriages only run during the day, when the gates on the west and east sides open. I still have some money, so let's have some fun."

Luna's excitement burst when she heard the words "have some fun."

"Let's go! I want to—"

Before she could finish her sentence, a cold voice came from behind them.

"Sorry to interrupt. Can I have a moment of your time?"
