CONNECT: Rise Of The Undead King

Chapter 56: It's Clear Now Mr. Richard Knows!

'The boy is being compelled. But how is that possible?'

Mr. Richard was really confused. Vampires can compel other people to do their bidding to obey every one of their commands while playing with their minds but it's very rare for vampires to compel other vampires.

It's rare and very difficult.

Of course, only if the vampire is very strong and very old, with thousands of years of cultivating their charm, then compelling other vampires would be a piece of cake for them.

So believing that Uche had compelled Eric to do his bidding does not make any sense. Unless Uche is one old vampire in disguise, of course, then compelling a young one like Eric wouldn't be a problem. But Mr. Richard still doubted that too.

If Uche was an old vampire in disguise, he would've known all along, no matter how strong his disguising ability was. So Mr. Richard wondered,

'Was Eric doing this out of his own willingness?'

That was also unbelievable because he had known Eric for a while, and believing that he could do something like this was totally out of character.

'Puzzle.'

---

Eric stood in front of Uche confidently, facing the other students. A slight red glow could be seen all around his arm. Some of the students backed down while a few confident ones among them stepped forward, baring their fangs at him as they stared with hostility.

"Eric, if you don't back down and let us kill this monster, I'm telling you, you'll regret it," one of the boys said.

"Then bring it on,"

Eric replied, not moving away.

"Guys, he's ready to bear the consequences, get them."

The boy shouted, and a couple of seconds later, the other boys got into the ring. They rushed right in front of Eric, who sent a couple of them out immediately with a single kick, then another one with a punch before using Blood Bullet to send three more out again. The few remaining ones in the ring quickly reeled back in fear.

"We can't beat him."

A boy shouted as he jumped out of the ring.

'He took six of them out in an instant. Incredible.'

Uche thought, surprised, as the other boys ran away.

"We don't need to be scared of him. He can't take us all out, we should attack him at once! Get yourselves together, and let's get rid of this monster."

The same boy who had spoken earlier said, trying to charge them up and give them some confidence and he did, because a few other students stepped forward again, staring at Eric and Uche with hostility burning in the depths of their eyes.

"These fools,"

Anna muttered under her breath as she stood aside from everyone else with Marcus by her side.

"I've been dying to kick Eric's ass," a very tall boy said.

"Yes, I—"

"Enough!!!"

Mr. Richard shouted, cutting the boy short. His voice traveled through the training room with an authoritative effect that froze every one of them in an instant.

"Enough of all this drama,"

Mr. Richard said, finally making a move since everything started. He took a step forward, and immediately, Eric turned against him, preparing to fight Mr. Richard if he needed to.

'Now, the real deal comes,'

Uche thought, staring at Mr. Richard intensely. Getting past the man was near impossible, even with Eric helping him so he was cornered here.

Mr. Richard stared at Eric for a while before turning to the frozen students and said,

"You've all done well standing against Uche today. I can see the potential of future Night Walkers in everyone, as you all feel the need to protect the Arcane, and I'll greatly reward every one of you for that."

Mr. Richard then turned back to Eric and Elion.

"You two, get down there with them."

They both did as he said. Eric found himself moving down the ring without going against the man's word.

Mr. Richard stared at Uche for a couple of seconds, smiling, before turning back to the students.

"As I said, I shall reward you all for your actions today."

"What every one of you saw a few minutes ago could put your life in grave danger. Just mentioning it to someone might cost you your life, so I shall grant you all a reward."

He took a step forward, staring at the students for some time. His expression now serious, he said,

"Today, none of you have seen what happened to Uche earlier. None of you have seen how he healed himself. Elion injured him with blood skills and he healed back, nothing else."

Mr. Richard said with an authoritative tone.

"The match for today has ended, and all three of them have been disqualified due to Elion breaking the rules and also because there was no clear winner before the time limit, so all three have been denied the right to the Semi-Final."

He paused for a while before continuing again.

"Now, both Anna and Marcus have qualified for the final. You can all go to your rooms now."

They all did as he said, as everyone started moving out of the training room one after the other.

After everyone had left, Mr. Richard turned to Uche with a smile.

"What... what the... what the hell just happened?"

Uche asked, not quite believing what he had just witnessed. He couldn't believe a single bit of it.

Mr. Richard smiled and said,

"Why should I tell you?"

Uche's heart skipped a beat. The tone of Mr. Richard's voice didn't sound nice at all. He had thought the man wanted to help him for making the students forget, but now, his tone was making him think otherwise.

The martial arts teacher smiled again, but before Uche could say or do anything, darkness suddenly enveloped him, and before he knew it, he couldn't see anything anymore.
