Acting as a Slit-Eyed Villain Perfectly

Ch. 127

Chapter 127: Omniscient Education Perspective (2)

⇒ The trait, "Open Eyes" has manifested.

Once my eyes opened.

A widened field of view, the clearer flow of mana.

And... the direction of hostility.

Everything started to become clearer than when my eyes were "closed," yet at the same time, I could feel my head burning up.

"Open Eyes" significantly affects one's emotions.

I had become more accustomed to handling it than at first, but the feeling of it not being "my" own was still there.

'Dangerous.'

Judging by the energies around me, the soldiers surrounding us were not only Kolparan's private forces but also numerous cultists mixed in.

For Kolparan, this current conflict was a battle to take control of the 'Dawn Society'.

Because of that, anyone unrelated to the "Dawn Society" could not be here.

'Knights, monsignors, and even mages.'

Comparing their individual power to my level.

'It's a world apart, but unfortunately, their numbers are many.'

In that case, despite the disparity in strength, it becomes significantly less impactful.

Because I am 'Yulian'.

"It seems you've only gathered cowards here, Sir Kolparan,"

I declared.

Perhaps because of 'Open Eyes', the trembling movements around me were vividly felt.

"If you all cower there like tailless demons, it'll be difficult for me to give you a proper 'lesson', don't you think? Huhut."

It was a situation where anyone would see I was outnumbered, and the opponents might have additional ploys up their sleeves.

'But I can't cower at just this much.'

As the calm moonlight flew toward the soldiers tightening their encirclement.

Pow!

Deep marks were left, causing their bodies to flinch once again.

"I'll personally provide 'education' for those who cross that line."

Buzz.

I emitted an overwhelming aura from my entire body.

My presence, marred with countless notoriety, began to engulf the surroundings in fear.

Though I spoke of 'education', those gathered here knew.

There was a risk of dying in the process.

Even though they belong to the same Dawn Society, I am the sort of ruthless man who could cut down anyone blocking my path.

The trembling of the surrounding mana grew stronger.

'Even if I am outnumbered.'

The initiative was entirely mine.

At that moment.

"Aah, ahhh!"

Among the gathered soldiers, the most timid-looking one dashed at me with "fear" emanating above his head.

A fellow narrowing the distance, trying to draw his sword.

Instead of waiting, I approached him and struck his solar plexus with my fist before he could draw his sword.

"Gah, gah...!"

With a shrill scream, the fellow was sent flying.

Triggered by this, others began to rush at me from all sides.

'I can see the direction of murderous intent.'

With "Open Eyes" manifested, my senses were sharpened to the point where I could track hostility with my eyes.

More accurately, it allowed me to quickly catch where the "Color of Negativity" was heading.

'A pincer attack from both sides.'

After calculating the incoming attacks, I read the gaze of the spear-wielding soldier closest to me.

A straight, thrusting attack with long reach and speed might make it hard to close the distance.

But the disparity in skill rendered that advantage moot.

"Hah!"

Perhaps thanks to practicing weaponry in the knight's training ground before?

The trajectory of the spear appeared vividly clear to me.

The soldier thrust the spear with a shout, but a straightforward, predictable attack posed no threat.

'Who would fall for such an obvious attack?'

Dodging the attack lightly, I scoffed at him, and the enraged soldier retrieved his spear to thrust again.

'Good, that's it.'

I slid through his side, grabbed the spear shaft, and diverted the attack in the opposite direction.

Thud.

"Kraaa!"

Another one trying to approach stealthily from behind groaned in pain, pierced by the redirected spear.

"How did you see what's behind you without looking!?"

While the spear-wielding soldier was engulfed in confusion, I drew my Moonstone Sword, attempting to cleave his shoulder.

But perhaps due to his sturdy armor, my attack was just met by eyes attempting to counter.

It's a reasonable thought. Typically, swords can't cut through steel.

===

⇒ Imbuing the sword with Moonlight.

===

However, this simple-minded soldier underestimated the aura.

Slash.

"Gah, gahhh...!"

Startled by how effortlessly the armor was sliced like tofu, the soldier lost his shoulder and dropped the spear.

I kicked him aside, regained my posture, casting a stern look over those around me.

Such natural movement and response.

Even those proficient with weapons would click their tongues at my actions.

Eyes full of awe.

Stares as if witnessing a monster.

I could feel all of it being directed at me.

'... Wasn't that pretty cool just now?'

Was it because my emotions were heightened with "Open Eyes"? Strange thoughts crossed my mind.

Simultaneously.

'If it were the original Yulian, he wouldn't have gotten scratched in this situation, would he?'

Of course, I didn't wish to emulate his nasty personality completely.

While every user wondered about "Yulian's" past, such thoughts hadn't crossed my mind.

Yet, I did acknowledge his skill.

As the Sword Saint's disciple, the one who single-handedly hunted High-rank demons, the title of a one-man army wasn't wasted on him.

'Faster.'

I knew it too.

This body was optimized for combat, and the more I pushed it, the more it reciprocated with fitting results.

'Faster, even faster.'

I endeavored to move my body even quicker.

So that I could get just a bit closer to the heels of 'Yulian', not as a human, but as a "swordsman".

'This kind of feeling... isn't bad?'

Now felt like the perfect moment to test the skills I'd been honing all along.

A grin.

The slit-eyed villain's smile spread across my lips.

So naturally.

***

Watching the battle unfold below the ridge, Kolparan clicked his tongue, observing the monster crossing the battlefield at tremendous speed.

The Imperial hunting dog.

The face of Blind Eyes.

With skills befitting his aliases, he easily handled unnamed knights and Monsignors.

Moreover.

"... To unleash aura like magic."

Although he had little knowledge of swordsmanship, hearing Al Hashar's murmur, Kolparan could predict how exceptional a swordsman Yulian was.

"Al Hashar, if you were to face him, could you win?"

With a sliver of hope, Kolparan asked Al Hashar.

"If you intend to kill me because my usefulness has diminished, please send me back to my homeland instead."

Kolparan gave a dry laugh in response to the overly honest answer.

"Prepare the mages."

At his command, more soldiers emerged from behind the trees.

For just one person, the number of soldiers seemed excessive.

Kolparan had resolved to 'hunt' Yulian, not as a mere human but as a 'demon'.

After all, his accomplishments as Blind Eyes and the feats he's achieved since joining the Dawn Society were closer to that of a monster than a human.

"Release all the firepower at once."

Even if it hit, that monster-like guy would probably only suffer a scratch.

The mages, having completed their chants, began showcasing their specialties all at once.

Fire, ice, and metal spheres erupted where Yulian stood.

Boom──!

The explosion was followed by billowing dust.

"D-Did he die?"

A voice mixed with half worry, half anticipation.

Though they were moving under Bishop Kolparan's orders, they seemed fearful of what might happen afterward, given Yulian was also a 'bishop'.

"Gah, gahhh!"

Such concerns proved unnecessary.

A Sword Energy that pierced through the dust hit the concerned mage's body.

"Did he sense the magic's presence in that short time and hide behind the tree? Impressive."

Despite one of his own falling, Kolparan didn't blink and shifted his gaze to the figure slowly emerging from the dust cloud.

Yulian's clothes and skin showed some slight scorch marks.

"A monster of a guy."

Still, seeing the scorching, it seemed he wasn't invincible.

"... Do we really need to go this far, Sir Kolparan?"

"Ha, emboldened ignorants trampling over the Dawn Society's foundation, how could I just sit and watch with these two eyes?"

Hearing Al Hashar's concerned words, Kolparan gave a perfunctory reply and extended a hand to a nearby archer.

"Hand me the bow."

Whether an elder's archery would reach that monster remained uncertain.

Yet, having trained earnestly in 'archery', the archer handed it over without hesitation.

"That monster seems very sensitive to hostility."

Kolparan drew the bowstring taut.

"In that case, how will he react to an attack without killing intent? Heh."

With a dry tone, Kolparan assessed the battlefield momentarily.

Yulian and the soldiers were still amid fierce combat.

As Yulian evaded an attack from another soldier, sending his body flying backward.

Whoosh!

Kolparan fired the arrow without missing a beat.

An attack of surprise.

In an unavoidable scenario.

With everything under perfect circumstances —

"W-What!?"

The arrow did not hit Yulian.

"... To dodge even Sir Kolparan's arrow."

Al Hashar murmured from the sidelines.

Kolparan was about to scold Al Hashar for being an idiot but stopped himself.

"The arrow must have surely struck!"

How many years had he been wielding a bow? How could he not know it?

"It must've hit...."

However, Yulian's body bore no marks from the 'arrow'.

To be precise.

"Absorbed it? Gasp."

Examining Yulian's body, Kolparan's eyes widened in astonishment.

Dark, shadowy figures, more black than pitch, with a multitude of eyes glaring back at him.

A demon from myths.

No, to the world, it was called a 'demon'.

"Could it be Yulian...."

Is he nurturing a demon within his body?

Realizing this, Kolparan hastily shouted.

"Cease all attacks and fall back!"

At the booming voice of the elder echoed across the battlefield, everyone took a step back.

A stillness settled over the previously chaotic forest.

"Already finished with the education, are we?"

The one to break it was Yulian's mocking voice.

"They said a rolling stone gathers no moss, but it seems I was mistaken."

The "Dawn Society's" foundation I'd babbled about earlier.

It wasn't, as the current High Pontiff Tenelon's claims, a matter of worshiping a Demon God.

The reason the initial leader of the Dawn Society, the previous head of the D'Micelle family, 'Ainon D'Micelle', founded the society was to research "demonic energy" and open new horizons—not to worship "Demon God" which shattered the continent.

After all, what would anyone hope to gain worshiping a "demon god" that nearly destroyed the land?

"You were, more genuine than an old man like me with no say in the matter all along."

Gazing at the multiple "eyes" defending Yulian, Kolparan had no choice but to admit.

With such movement, it's evident that demon has been entirely "nurtured" by Yulian.

Maybe a case where the new horizon Ainon D'Micelle spoke of, using 'demonic energy', has opened.

"I apologize for my rudeness."

Kolparan extended his hand.

'He may have been the one to deter the skewed Dawn Society.'

Thinking so, he offered his hand for a handshake.

"I will forgive the impoliteness."

Yulian accepted.

"But! Separate from that, the 'education' is not yet concluded."

Thud!

With a dull thunk, Kolparan nearly lost consciousness from the pain emanating from the right side of his face.

As his vision returned, he realized he was rolling across the leaf-covered ground.

"Did you not just claim I am more genuine?"

"Gah, gah...."

"Thus, there shouldn't be any complaints if I proceed with 'education' for you, Sir Kolparan."

"W-Wait!"

Kolparan extended both hands towards Yulian, gesturing for him to calm down.

"I-I'm but an old man. Throwing punches like that would end up in this body being ravaged!"

"For one who claims so, you're quite adept with the bow."

"Ahem...."

"You know well how much strength it takes to draw a bowstring, do you not?"

Kolparan's chest heaved at Yulian's ruthless words.

Indeed, maintaining a physique through training was something never neglected; while not young, it wasn't weak either.

"Those aware of their deficiencies, please step forward."

Yulian glanced around, but the soldiers remained silent.

His gaze fell upon Al Hashar as well, but he too kept his head low.

"Your shifts in attitude are impressive. This works out well. Sir Kolparan."

When Yulian addressed me by name, I flinched.

"Why must it be me...."

"There's no age limit on learning. Isn't that right?"

Grin.

For some reason, Kolparan found Yulian's smile more murderous today.

Thus began the unilateral 'discipline', which continued until Yulian's mood was appeased.

Clacky's Corner:That was a one-sided beat down, I mean "lesson".Getting away from the center seems like a far-off dream now.
