Chapter 1181 - Elemental Fury (Part 1)

Chapter 1181: Elemental Fury (Part 1)

Nailisi was having the time of her life capturing elemental creatures. For someone at her level, if it had not been for such a special environment and possessing weird equipment like the 12 Notes of First Purgatory, it would be impossible for her to capture that many elemental creatures.

While she had initially only been capturing the creatures to feed her magic power furnace, she got increasingly excited about it.

It got to a point that whenever she found herself, there was no elemental creatures spared. Regardless of level or use, every single one of them was chucked into her purgatory of elements.

Nailisi quickly put away her equipment when she heard the loud, terrifying voice. She transformed into her skeleton king form and took a nightmare out of the spirit space.

The nightmare was level nine and it should have evolved into some other form of spirit. For some reason, however, there were no changes with it and it was stuck being a nightmare.

Nailisi leapt onto the nightmare and began running at breakneck speed. Her skeleton king form was not capable of moving quickly, but when she rode a nightmare of such high levels, her running speed was on par with Saleen’s flight speed.

Nailisi had no idea if she would be able to make it back to the Magical Element Tower like that, but she knew that the creature that let out that angry roar was not something she could deal with on her own.

Regardless if she was able to make it, she had to run, as standing still and waiting for the creature was not an option.

Nailisi was unnervingly sensitive when gauging levels. The voice had definitely come from a being above level 11. The Imperial City of the Abyss was not like Myers Mainland.

The cap on level limit was weak, and so it was entirely possible for a level 13 creature to show up. In some special places like the Cemetery of Heroes, there were even level 18 ones around.

Saleen was getting materials ready for crafting with his teacher, Jason, when he was alerted.

“Teacher, listen to this!”

Jason was actually aware of the danger earlier than Saleen, but the older man had been more excited. He said to Saleen, “Let’s go and get Nailisi. She’s in trouble. It is a fire type element spirit!”

Fire type element spirits were powerful but very well-loved among mages, especially to the likes of Jason, who was versed in fire magic. If they were able to capture one for crafting equipment, their control of fire element would reach unimaginable levels.

When Jason left Sreeger Island, he let go off his possession of a fire type element spirit with a heavy heart for Saleen. He had never expected to find fire type element spirits in the Imperial City of the Abyss, a place with weak fire elemental powers.

Jason knew fire type element spirits very well. Generations of Sreeger Island mages had been thinking of ways of getting their hands on them.

At present, due to possessing a godly item crafted from fire type element spirits, Sreeger Island rivalled the Elemental Hand in terms of powers. The fire element equipment was the most powerful and the most difficult to craft.

Saleen dared not hesitate. While Nailisi was at level ten, it would still be very difficult for her to deal with a fire type element spirit on her own. Even the 12 Notes of First Purgatory would have a lot of trouble keeping a fire type element spirit under control.

In Saleen’s mind, Nailisi was like a child who always ended up getting him into trouble. He had only let her out for a couple days and she ended up with such huge trouble in her hands already.

The magic power furnace of the Magical Element Tower ran at full force, tearing through the water. Saleen cast a water element territory, which enabled the speed of the tower to reach a frightening 500 miles per hour.

He resorted to throwing several low level elemental creatures into the magic power furnace. Magic patterns emerged on the magic power furnace.

It was the first time the furnace displayed an all-elemental state. The six major elements were hard at work, providing huge amounts of energy to the mechanical core of the Sky City.

Even so, Saleen felt that they were not going fast enough. He steeled his heart and threw a level nine elemental creature into the large scale magic power furnace. Furious howls emerged from the magic power furnace, as if the furnace itself had turned into a living being.

The speed of the Magical Element Tower was enhanced again, reaching a speed—800 miles per hour—that Saleen dared not even imagine in the past.

If they had actually been flying, Saleen could use special skills to crank up the speed to even more terrifying levels. However, they were in water, and the resistance was over 100 times greater than the air.

Despite going at such high speeds and Nailisi running in the tower’s direction at over 300 miles per hour, it would still take them over four hours to meet up. The fire type spirit element was only about 1000 miles away from Nailisi, which made the situation all the more dire.

There was a volcano in the Imperial City of the Abyss, which had been created artificially by ancient humans using magic arrays. A huge lake surrounded the volcano and while the fire-spitting mountain itself had died, it continued to nurture a fire type element spirit within.

It was difficult for even ancient humans to capture fire type spirit elements and that had been their answer: a method to slowly nurture a fire type spirit element that belonged to their plane.

However, the fire type spirit element was still not successfully grown even when humans disappeared from the city. The fire type element spirit had only emerged in the past millennium. The being gained intelligence as soon as it came alive.

The fire type element spirit was cunning enough to tell that its power was suppressed in the Imperial City of the Abyss’ environment, so it had taken to watching patiently for hundreds of years, before confirming that every single free-moving elemental creature in the city was inferior to it.

The fire type element spirit avoided dangerous places and began to slowly gain control of the elemental creatures around it to serve it. The fire type element spirit needed elemental powers to sustain itself.

While the volcano had long died, it intended to continue living, and it needed to find ways to acquire fire elemental powers to maintain its power.

The Imperial City of the Abyss was a huge place, but the volcano where it emerged remained the most suitable place for it to live. Fire elements from other places were collected with the help of its underlings.

Vermillion Knights, blazing salamanders, and other beings of somewhat lower level were among the types of elemental creatures captured by Nailisi.

The fire type element spirit did not devour the fire elemental creatures and had simply had them to find more fire elemental crystals, magic nuclei, and underground fire elemental veins for it.

The fire type element spirit had only been alerted because Nailisi had been going overboard with capturing elemental creatures. If it let Nailisi have her way, the fire type element spirit would have to look for sustenance personally in the dangerous parts of the city.

There had been many Vermillion Knight leaders in the areas surrounding the volcano that the fire type element spirit lived. The leaders were of levels as high as level 11 and they all commanded level nine Vermillion Knights in the hundreds, while serving the fire type spirit element.

“Go out and kill the one who took my soldiers!” The fire type element spirit gave its orders. It had no idea if the one who took its soldiers were someone from the dangerous parts of the city or an outsider. It had not been born long enough to explore every single part of the city.

“Yes, master.” Vermillion Knight leaders rode on fire tigers and took their subordinates across the lake outside the volcano. The fire type element spirit stood at the mouth of the volcano and watched from afar.

However, it was too far away from Nailisi and was unable to learn much, other than what it was shown from the senses of the elemental creatures captured. It had no idea of the enemy’s level or looks, only that its underlings were being taken en masse.

Over ten thousand fire elemental creatures ran at the bottom of the ocean. While level 11 Vermillion Knight leaders were capable of running at frightening speeds, they could only do so on land. Their powers were limited in the sea and were only capable of reaching about 100 miles per hour.

The fire type element spirit felt something was off when the Vermillion Knights were gone for over three hours. Its Fiery Voice did not harm the enemy, which meant the enemy was stronger than the Vermillion Knights. They might not have been able to catch up to the being who dared to challenge its supremacy.

The fire type element spirit felt rather restless from what it learned from its inherent ancient memories. It was not born just moments ago, and it had acquired a great deal of ancient memories.

Beware of gods, beware of humans.

But if it had a chance to become something else, it would choose to become a god or a human, and never again an elemental creature.

It was a conclusion that the fire type element spirit had gotten from being around for a millennium. It was a tragic fate being an elemental creature. Humans and gods all had ways to deal with elemental creature. An elemental creature needed either humans or gods to use powerful combat capacity.

The being that had been taking its underlings could possibly be a human. Humans often carried weird devices with them. If the 36 level 11 Vermillion Knights were taken away by that being, it would be the end for the fire type element spirit.

It had grown accustomed to being supported and fed by its underlings and was unable to imagine having to run around on its own.

Hmph, seems like I have no choice but to do this myself.

The fire type element spirit retreated into the volcano and emerged from the mouth moments later. It was clad in a set of armor. The fire type element spirit was only about three meters tall, and some very imposing humans were able to reach about two meters and a half.

The fire type element spirit resembled a human after being clad in armor.

The fire type element spirit took out a fire elemental chariot after putting on the armor and leapt onto it. There were six flaming giant dragons in front of the chariot.

The fire type element spirit held a pitch black whip, which was made entirely from black fire. The fires hardly jumped and there were three-dimensional magic patterns coursing within.

“Ride!” The fire type element spirit howled and the six dragons howled at the same time. White flames shot from the crevices between the dragons’ scales when the black whip slapped on them. The six dragons burst and the fiery chariot streaked forward at breakneck speed, forming a thick path in the seawater.

The fiery chariot was able to reach about 1000 miles per hour underwater thanks to the six dragons. If the chariot had been running in the air, its speed would easily rival Saleen’s Comet Flash.

The rumbling noises felt like howls from giants. The movements that the fire type element spirit made in the Imperial City of the Abyss were heard a thousand miles away. Elemental drafts formed whenever the fiery chariot passed.

However, the drafts were incredibly stable and did not result in elemental storms or space chasms. The fire type element spirit looked at the equipment it packed with a satisfied look. It was all scavenged from the city by its underlings and restored on its own.

Regardless of what being captured its underlings, it deemed it necessary to kill it. The fire type element spirit felt restless. Its eventual goal was to create its own elemental kingdom, and it intended to gradually take over the entire Imperial City of the Abyss.
