Chapter 48: Riding the Savior in Flight

At this very moment, even an S-rank 【Prophet】 might not have imagined that in a small residential home in Central State City, both the “World Destroyer” and the “Savior,” two hidden dragons and crouching phoenixes, were gathered together.

Just the thought of this made Jiang He unable to hold back, and he laughed along with Old Jiang.

As he laughed, he curiously said: “The World Destroyer was a profession created by White Crane, an X-rank advancement derived from the Word-Spirit profession.”

“Old Jiang, is your X-rank profession 【Savior】? Then what profession system did you create?”

X-rank… or rather, the 【God-rank Path】, was the true core represented by these godlike Heroic Spirits!

Jiang He even felt that the reason he had drawn the 【World Destroyer】 profession, aside from luck, was heavily tied to his two professions belonging to the Word-Spirit system.

Without the prerequisite professions, perhaps even with the best of luck, he would have only drawn a specialty or skill related to the World Destroyer, but not the complete profession.

Old Jiang nodded with a smile.

“That’s right. 【Savior】 is the highest advancement of the profession system I created — 【Eraser】.”

“However, unless you directly draw the Savior, I don’t recommend you to transfer into the Eraser system.”

Jiang He asked: “Why?”

Old Jiang scratched his head and said awkwardly: “You know my starting point was quite low. To make up for that, I did many things…”

“So my profession system was not only tailor-made for the 【Eraser】 talent, but it also comes with an enormous price.”

“If you choose this path, it would really be a loss outweighing the gain.”

“Compared to this, I’d recommend you pick one of the other three X-rank Paths instead…”

“The other three X-rank Paths?!” Jiang He was stunned. Old Jiang’s meaning was… “You have four kinds of X-rank professions?”

“Yeah.” Old Jiang said: “In my timeline, there were four X-rank powerhouses. I possessed four kinds of X-rank professions. That’s not too much, is it?”

“…How could that not be too much?!”

Jiang He was shocked.

One had to know that each Transcendent could only obtain up to four non-basic, non-self-created profession systems.

Old Jiang had grown into the Savior who saved the world. Naturally, he must have long since maxed out all of his professions.

In such a case, how could he possibly still have so many X-rank professions?

Could it be that all the future X-rank Transcendents were creators of professions he already had?

Old Jiang understood Jiang He’s astonishment, smiling broadly.

“Professions and such, if I don’t like them, I just erase them.”

“I am the Eraser, after all.”

“…”

Jiang He understood.

He could actually reset his points!

While others could only choose once when transferring into a Transcendent profession, Old Jiang could choose countless times!

No wonder he could possess so many X-rank professions!

In fact, if Old Jiang could even erase the initial “Student” profession, wouldn’t that mean he could gain one more Transcendent profession than others, adding an extra Transcendent Path?

Jiang He couldn’t help but complain: “What do you mean, the weakest Eraser? You can even erase 【Transcendent Professions】. This talent is just too broken.”

“Broken talent?” Old Jiang shook his head.

“For so many years, the Eraser has always been regarded as the weakest talent. Among those who had it, there were at least eighty to a hundred people.”

“But the only one who became the strongest was me.”

So it wasn’t the talent that was broken — it was him.

Then how exactly did Old Jiang grow up like this?

Jiang He was filled with boundless curiosity about his growth process.

He was just about to ask.

At that moment.

Old Jiang suddenly turned his head, looking to the side.

“Wait a bit. There’s an evil presence.”

Jiang He followed his gaze. His eyes only met with a wall. Confused, he asked: “Evil?”

“A very strange aura. A little similar to that of an Ultimate Beast, yet not the same.” Old Jiang’s eyes grew serious. “Besides that, I also sense the aura of a Beast.”

Beast?!

Jiang He instantly caught onto the key word, his heart tightening in vigilance.

According to White Crane’s warning, in his current world, signs of Beast rampages had already begun appearing.

Adding to Old Jiang’s words, the “Ultimate Beast” that would bring about a world-ending crisis might have already existed long ago…

Could this be the beginning of the crisis?

Countless thoughts flashed through his mind. Jiang He released his spirit, probing in the direction of Old Jiang’s gaze, but sensed no evil Beast.

His spirit only passed through the wall, “seeing” the scene in the neighbor’s living room.

“Where is the evil?” Jiang He asked while extending his spirit further.

“It should be around four kilometers away… Seems to be in the park near the fire station?” Old Jiang said.

Jiang He’s face stiffened.

Not kidding, right? Four kilometers?

Old Jiang should be like White Crane, his energy level restricted at the peak of E-rank…

An E-rank Heroic Spirit, capable of sensing faint auras within a four-kilometer radius at any time?

Silently, Jiang He withdrew his spirit from the neighbor’s living room back into his body.

“This aura is strange, and it seems no one else has noticed it.” Old Jiang looked over: “Shall we go check it out?”

Jiang He: “Let’s go!”

Old Jiang had only just been summoned, able to stay for a week. A conversation could wait; reality was more pressing.

Because the matter was urgent, Jiang He didn’t bother with the elevator.

He opened the living room window, stepped onto the sill, and directly leapt out—

E-rank Transcendents had no flying ability, yet Jiang He showed not a shred of panic. His mouth opened, crimson patterns spread from the root of his tongue to the corner of his lips.

He spoke.

「Step on Air」

Jiang He’s right foot fell. Though it landed on thin air, it was as if he had stepped onto a stair, borrowing force to spring upward.

Coupled with his physical strength of 80 points, he soared into the sky, leaping across building rooftops like a giant frog, swiftly darting forward. In the blink of an eye, he had left the neighborhood.

Old Jiang was even simpler, flying beside Jiang He, his red scarf fluttering in the wind.

“So this is Word-Spirit? Quite useful.”

Jiang He slightly nodded.

The versatility of the Word-Spirit talent truly was incomparable.

That was why, from yesterday until now, he had drawn over a thousand Spell Words, covering all kinds of situations.

Abilities like this one, resembling flight, were merely one among many.

“But speaking of which.” Old Jiang said at the side: “Wouldn’t it be faster if you just rode on my back? After all, I can fly.”

Jiang He: “…”

A few seconds later, Old Jiang was flying across the sky, while Jiang He stood on his back.

So this was the feeling of riding the Savior in flight?

The effect was indeed excellent, the view wide and open, even the wind rushing against his face felt exhilarating.

As expected, this was the kind of flying mount worthy of a World Destroyer’s identity and status.

Standing on the Savior’s back, Jiang He looked down, the cityscape sprawling beneath his eyes.

In the night sky, some other Transcendents with flight abilities glanced at his youthful face, showing faint surprise.

Jiang He simply smiled and nodded at them.

After all, Old Jiang had already gone invisible, so they couldn’t see anything.

“Later I should get a custom sword, place it on Old Jiang’s back… That way it would serve as cover, and I could cosplay flying-sword riding.”

As this thought crossed his mind, Old Jiang had already arrived at their destination.

Jiang He stood midair, gazing down, his eyes narrowing slightly.

“Xiao Mi?”
