Kiernan stepped out of the Master Dungeon.
He had already reached the 55th floor, but he still had a relatively easy time over there and never had to truly face a real challenge.
At the 50th floor, a new shop opened up, and it had some really good stuff, but it was expensive, and he simply didn't have gold to purchase it.
Again, being "poor" really hurt him even though his 100,000 gold net worth was already more than an ordinary family household could make in ten years.
It still wasn't enough.

'I am getting close to the test of High Stage Martial King, but I am quite nervous because I can't go away for another six months.'
Kiernan thought with a serious look on his face.
He made the Master Dungeon gateway disappear, went to take a shower, and then retreated back to the futon to sleep with Aoi.
After sleeping over the night, the morning's bright daylight woke Kiernan up and got his day started.
While Lumian, Cleo, Jock, Shiro, and the rest were in school, the children of the forest came to the dojo early on.
Aoi still hadn't found them jobs to do in the morning before the training, so they came early to the dojo instead to train.
Kiernan just opened the door to the Lower Halls for them, and as they went to train with the help of Kiernan's instructions, he left them to practice on their own.
There were some things for him to do over in Montrael Port, as he actually received an assignment from the government.
Martial Kings and above had a duty to the world, and every now and then, the government might ask them to do specific duties.
Not for free, though.
The government asked for Martial Kings of nearby regions to help with certain matters, and Kiernan accepted.
He was in need of money, so he was willing to do it.
"Welcome, sir."
The ship's crew over in Montrael Port greeted Kiernan with respect, and he greeted them back.
They were already ready and were only waiting for him, so when he finally arrived, they quickly started heading out of the port and into the open sea.
'…Apparently there has been Great White Shark terrorizing the nearby sea region, killing fishermen, and that threat needs to be neutralized.'
Kiernan thought to himself.
It seemed simple enough of an assignment that he believed he could do it as long as they could find the Great White Shark.
The ship sailed further out to sea and, about an hour later, arrived at the location where three fishing boats had been attacked.
"This is the Great White Shark's hunting ground."
The ship's captain said.
"…Ok."
Kiernan walked to the railing, engulfed himself in Black Qi, and jumped over the board.
Splash!
With a splash, he disappeared under the water, and the ship's crew ran to the railing with shock in their faces.
"What the hell is he doing?"
"He is planning to fight the Great White Shark underwater? That is insanity!"
"It is not just any ordinary Great White Shark. It is a descendant of King White Shark, which is Magical Beast, and thus, as its descendant, the Great White Shark also possesses immense power!"
The ship's captain had an ugly expression on his face.
Underwater, Kiernan swam at a reserved pace, and then, he stabbed himself in the hand with his finger.
A droplet of blood floated out into the water.
Kiernan stopped swimming, started sitting cross-legged, and put his hands on top of his knees.
It didn't seem like he needed oxygen to breathe because he had already been underwater for five minutes and looked completely fine.
Anybody else would've already been either dead or unconscious.
In that moment, something started to approach him from the dark depths, its shadowy figure growing larger and more menacing as it drew closer.
It was big, with sharp teeth glinting in the dim light of the ocean floor and scars crisscrossing its body, evidence of many battles fought and won.
It was the Great White Shark!
Kiernan opened his eyes, staring straight at the Great White Shark, and it was like he was challenging it to a fight.
The Great White Shark opened its mouth. It smelled like death and meat.
'Iron Smash!'
Kiernan's punch was a little bit slower because it was underwater, but it was still very fast, and it hit the Great White Shark in the nose.
The punch sent it reeling back, and Kiernan followed with a punch to its side. His fist enjoyed the feeling of crashing into the shark's tough skin.
The Great White Shark swam right back at him and opened its mouth to eat him in one go.
But then Kiernan grabbed its upper and lower jaws and held them apart, preventing the shark from biting down on him.
The Great White Shark struggled to bite down, and it clearly frustrated it as it was so close to enjoying the taste of fresh meat.
Kiernan flipped it over until it was upside down, and then he punched it in its underbelly, feeling like he just punched a solid mass balloon.
Realizing that it was no match for this powerful human, the Great White Shark turned around to swim away.
It believed it could easily outswim this human, but in that moment, Kiernan grabbed onto its dorsal fin and went for a ride.
Kiernan raised his right fist, and flames gathered around it until it started to resemble that of a miniature sun.
'…High Supernova!'
He punched down, and a massive explosion of energy shot out in all directions.
The Great White Shark got punched down to the sea floor, creating a massive crater in the ocean.
It was over, the Great White Shark started floating lifelessly, its body slowly sinking into the depths of the ocean.
Kiernan quickly swam back to it, grabbed it from its tail, and swam back to the surface.
"…Where is he?"
The ship's crew looked confused, but in that moment, a massive shark flew out of the sea and landed on the deck of the ship.
"Ahh!"
"It is the Great White Shark!"
They hurried away from the shark, as they first thought that the Great White Shark came to attack them, but then noticed it wasn't moving.
It looked dead.
In that moment, drenched Kiernan jumped from the water and landed back on the deck.
"It is done. Mind taking me back to Montrael?"
Kiernan said with a sigh.
"…Ah?"
The ship's crew looked at each other in disbelief, then nodded absentmindedly, and began to steer the ship back towards Montrael.
